yellowdog's Blog

Never the one for doom and gloom, I am nevertheless compelled to offer an observation.

Our once proud and powerful country has a terminal condition, sort of a national cancer, the United States of America is dying.

Our core values, the ones which have sustained us for over two hundred years are rotting away.

We are DYING FROM WITHIN.

The greedy, the ignorant, the selfish, the criminals of history have placed their comfort, their careers, their safety,  and their miserable short sighted agendas ahead of the Country.

"What's in it for me?" is the cry.

"Save my pension plan" is more important than saving the Country.

We are dying.

Are YOU one of the murderers? Did you vote for Dumbo?

We must remove the cancer at it starts with each  American making their own sacrifice.

Let's start by kicking all politicians out of office. Say NO to everybody.

I say kick everyone out of office also. If you want to get rid of cancer, you need to take out all the tumors too.

In order to fix this problem we have to look only at ourselves. When was the last time you slowed down so someone can get in your lane, instead of doing the common thing and speeding up.

If we all showed just a little common courtesy and stopped expecting everyone to deal with us...life would be better

Remember the world doesn't revolve around you, you are a miniscule part of it.

Besides those of you that think the world revolves around you really annoy those of us that it does revolve around

I'm geocentric if you dont mind DVS11965. lol
I do have to agree that it is our fault to a point.
I never borrow more than I can repay in a reasonable amount of time or without questionable financing methods. As it is right now, the only thing that I owe money on is my house and that will be paid for in 5 years.
Others who I know, are in debt up to their necks and if one paycheck were missed, they would be in financial ruin or very close. They have no savings or investment plans and only look at the now insted of the future.
I dont say anything because I'm told I am bragging.
I'm also a so and so for not wanting to watch thier children when they want to go out on friday nights.

AMEN SISTA CROMA!!! We too are of a like mind. Never borrow what you can't pay back. Never buy what you can't afford. Never rob Peter to pay Paul because soon Peter is broke. Always put something away for a rainy day, pay your bills on time and take RESPONSIBILITY for your actions! When others are struggling we have managed to live comfortably with no worries for 8 months with little to no income and we are able to continue another 2 years if need be. Why? because we learned early on that "instant gradification" is nothing but a delusion of grandure. I would rather save for a month to buy what I want then to buy it today and give it up in a month.

Sadly Dog is right...we are dying in this country but the only ones with the power to change any of it is us. The question is...is it important enough yet to do so????

So far so good norton.

228 valiant members of Congress told the fat cat, greedy buggers to stuff it.

I bet the country can survive if the banks fail. A new, smarter bunch will fill the void.

Cro and TA, always the voices of reason, are right. This should be a lesson in the value of restraint and good judgment, not a reward to the lazy and greedy.

As this blog sits on the front page yet another day I have to wonder if Yellowdog has created the best blog ever, or if our mod stinks that bad at her job.

FOX, please find someone who is good at this job! Hey, you wouldn't be the same genius who took Lauren away from us would you?

Obviously you have been smoking some mushrooms zip, I have never voted for a Bush in any thicket (nor a Clinton, Carter, kerry or gore either).

Whas'amatta' Jim, a little jealously? Fox obviously recognizes timely, lucid posts which elicit thoughtful dialogue (or my cousin, the mod, remembers the beer I bought last Saturday night at the strip joint!).
