These debates are a sham. Candidates are provided with the questions earlier so they can give their stock answers. Obama did make it look like he was thinking as he answered. McCain had a nicer suit. A bit odd to see a Green Republican who is for regulation. Very odd indeed. I watched for only 1/2 hour; enough is enough.

I REALLY think that Osama is a socialist that wants to give everyone "FREE" (or, if you will, "affordable") medical care and a "FREE" college education. Typcial socialist agenda.

Of course, he did not say anything about packing the Supreme Court with activist judges - but I can state with one hundred percent certainty that that's EXACTLY what he'll do.

I've been up since 5:45am, Vitt. I had things to say. I had to go to work today, too.

On the economy it was almost a tie but Obama's giveaway programs lost it with me. If you are looking for freebies, you'll agree with Obama.

On national security, they are still sweeping up pieces of Obama.

Vitto,

1/2 an hour is a long time for a cat to pay attention to anything. But then again, with your recent penchant for telling whoppers, can we really believe it was only 1/2 an hour?*lol*

In just my opinion - not to offend anyone - I don't think either one of them won anything. I have a problem with any one wanting to be a leader of our Nation that can stand there and not have any passion or aggressiveness in what they have to say. It all appeared robot-ical. Sadly, the debate had the same old story accompanied with it and that is to - SELL - to the people and - TELL - them exactly what they want to hear. Nothing was new. The only thing I found really offensive is when McCain talked about his war experience and all Obama could make reference to is the bracelet he wore on his arm in reference to a fallen soldier and talk about this not having to happen to other mothers. Freedom comes at a price, so is Obama ready to face that price should the time come? There is no and can be no comparison unless one has experienced it. I would have given more creditability to Obama if he would just have stated that he could not share any experience of warfare such as McCain has and would in fact have the right people in place to seek advice on when it comes to warfare.

How is it we have allowed the media and the same old empty promises to condition our minds? We in essence have become zombie like material. I agree with mmustangg as the Democrats always promise one thing in change and that is more Welfare and Freebie Packages to those who are without. The scary part of this whole thing as that many individuals Republicans - Democrats - Liberals - whatever you'd want to call yourself were all caught up being part of bringing the economy down to where it is today - o

- over 90% of the US Citizens are struggling and always look for the easiest way out. Because many individuals of all race and party sides are tired of trying to win a constant loosing battle - the word BAIL OUT - is going to appeal to many. Everyone knows from history that Democrats will in fact do just that - give people a free hand out. So I am more inclined to say no matter what happen in the debate - this debate more than likely is being over clouded by what the outcome is going to be on bailing out the loosing investment companies - because what ever happens there will dictate how we are going to thrive in our economy and if the Democrats pull it off as being the ones to save the World per say - then I do believe debates or no debates - the Democrats may actually have a good chance at winning. This is my opinion - so please don't call me a leftist nor a Democrat or Republican sympathizer. At this point - I am like many others - gathering all the information I can to be able to make the right decision when the time comes.

Obama stutters and stammers MORE than any politician I have ever seen! I can appreciate a "thought out" response, but sometimes YOU have to be able to JUST answer the darn question and make a quick gut decision...... I can just see him sitting in the White House and here comes a nuclear war missile headed our way - Obama's response - Ah, maybe I should push the button.... Well, maybe not, we don't want to be perceived as "hostile". Ah, we do have to protect the American people though... Ah, Um, Well, Um, See, The problem is, We need to be sure, Um...... Blah Blah.... By the time this guy makes a decision we will all be dead!!! Obama has absolutely no experience dealing with other nations and has no concept of the mindset of the middle east territory! Thanks, but no thanks. McCain!!!! McCain!!!! McCain!!!!

And I still haven't herd how he's going to pay for health care for ALL, and college for every kid..... IT'S called "RAISE TAXES" on the middle class.... The poor already get free health care, which WE are all paying for. Now we are going to be paying for their college education too...... The guy is a socialist..... You can't cover health care for all, and college for all, without taxes going up on the middle class.. Please folks, do the math. Americans are going to find themselves in a 48% tax bracket. Remember, the poor DON'T pay taxes.... Who's left to pay it? We are already getting stuck with this 700 Billion bale out. Just wait til you get the bill for health car and college. LMBO-LMBO

And before I go - mmustang just let me know if you have no struggles in life and you are 100% where you want to be. No one really is because the Government continues to keep us suppressed from reaching our goals. Democrats are banking on many of us wanting to reach our hand out to get a bail out that will cost us millions in the long run. If the Democrats do get in - heck then we might as well just vote for a communistic society so that we can get it over with - hand everything over we have to the Government so everything can be redistributed equally to everyone whether we've worked hard for it or not.

The more important question is; "How come McCain did not wear his lapel American Flag...?
Obama had his on...

Obama - - - Walking and talking in Reagan's foot steps... Walks the walk and is a great communicator... he will help bring this country back to the "Shining City on a Hill"
If you're afraid of the future, then get out of the way, stand aside. The people of this country are ready to move again. Ronald Reagan

To sit back hoping that someday, someway, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last--but eat you he will. Ronald Reagan

Stand4UrRights,

If a person is honest, they'll tell you they are not 100% happy where they are. But to claim that 90% of the population is "Struggling" is absurd. I'm not happy where I am because I always want to do better, not because of anyone suppressing me! I can tell you this, I got where I am today with hard work. That's something a lot of people have lost in this "gimme gimme" world. It's common for people now days to look for a hand out instead of a hand up!

Amen, Stangg!!!! I still haven't heard any response on how all these hand outs, are going to be paid for........ Gee, maybe Obama, just plans to have an underground money printing machine to cover the shortage. Health care and college for ALL, is never going to be a FREE benefit... Someone is going to pay for it. It's called a "Socialist" mentality and the good ole middle class is the one who foots the bill. It's called a 48% tax bracket. I hope all the liberal democrats are willing to loose that much of their income too, cause they are part of the middle class that's going to be bashed by it. Check out some of the European countries who operate this way.. Their tax bracket is 48% to 50%.

Health care and college for ALL, without your taxes going up. Right.. If you buy that one, let me throw in a swamp or two!

PD,

How's he going to pay for it? He's told us all along. He's going to soak the rich. Tax the rich to death and you'll see more jobs lost. Poor people don't create jobs. Wealthy people that are taxed, pull in their investment and the result is the same.

I don't believe O'bama is walking in Reagan's shoes because the difference is Ronald Reagan was a democrat until he switched over in 1962 to the Rep,side and I don't think O'bama could fill his shoes, You see Reagan didn't B/S the people, thats why it would be so hard for O'bama to fill the mans shoes, you might ask his wife and see what she thinks..........To be honest I don't think O'bama or McCain could fill his shoes

Funny, most people didn't believe in Reagan, but it was obvious by the electoral that everyone thought he was the better choice of the two candidates. I believe greatness is in Obama's destiny and he will be another great communicator... he may not yet walk in Reagan's shoes, but he sure is following in the shadows of Reagan's footsteps.

My turn :

(a). looked more Presidential? McCain
(b). seemed more informed? Obama
(c). had better ideas? Obama
(d). inspired confidence? McCain
(e). earned your vote? Don't know yet

There will never be another Kennedy, FDR or Reagan...the system is too corrupt. There will never be another Dumbo either....a 12 yo deaf, dumb, blind, crack head could do no worse than the "decider".

It is very funny to see my RW pals complain about the "free spending" Obama plan when we look at what the Republican administration has done/ is doing to us!!!

Let's see our priorities :

Bush : fund a bad war, bailout greedy, corrupt and criminal fat cats, spend our way into the second great depression, while cutting the taxes for said fat cats..

Obama : Health care for children, help working class people go to college and keep their homes, get the hell out of Iraq (and save 10 billion PER MONTH!!).

The most interesting point to me was the fact that Obama would chase the terrorists into Pakistans and KILL the bastards while McCain would stop at the border until the terrorist protecting government of Pakistan gave us the green light.

No wonder Bin Laden remains free under the Republican war to hang Saddam....we are more interested in propping up a corrupt and inept government than in finding and the killing the REAL terrorists of 9-11 ( I guess a corrupt and inept government owes it to another corrupt and inept government..a "birds of a feather sort of thing"..

I have serious problems with Obama's wanting to win a popularity contest with the world. Fix US for US not because of how we are preceived by the world. That is something that we can not change PERIOD. Fighting perception is right up there with fighting ideas, it leads to nothing...

I left the debate ( I watched it almost in it's entirity) thinking they both made wonderful typical "I want" your vote answers. I did not care for Obamas arragant reactions to some things but at times I think McCain relied too heavily on the I have the experience. BUT- for a debate, it was typical.

Still voting for McCain and I am still a registered democrat!!!

I liked the fact Obama brought up education quite a few times, McCain not once. We have to catch up to compete or foreigners will get all the high paying tech, medical jobs. Mcain seemed smug and didn't even look at Obama. I think 8 years is enough for this party, give the others a chance, how much worse can it get. After the dems 8 years the country was ready for Bush.
