I defended John McCain against the attack of a BLEEP last week who claimed the Senator was a War Coward. I was so steamed, I make remarks not usually seen from the 'ole dawg, and my remarks caused my pal stang's blog to get yanked.

Could it be that McCain IS a campaign coward?

He has requested that the Friday debate with Obama be "postponed" because of the fiscal crisis (one mostly the responsibility of HIS party, the Grand Old Party of Deregulation and NON-OVERSIGHT).

Is Johnnie Boy afraid to face the music for his parties blunders?

Is the War Hero a Campaign COWARD?

I saw your headline and wondered if it had anything to do with what I read in this Guardian article?:

He could be making a decision to help his country rather then his career.

He's going back to Washington to do his job first! He's suspended ALL campaign activities, INCLUDING ADVERTISING! Let's see if Obama can suspend his distorted ads during the same period.

You know, I have always had a problem with a person that holds an office that also spends all his time on the road campaigning. I have always thought they should resign before running. Either run or do your current job. I know that's impractical though and would cause a lot of disruption. McCain is doing the next best thing. Doing his elected job and then going back to the race! He's not suggesting canceling the debate, just postponing it. It's no skin off Obama's butt if he doesn't go back to the Senate. He hardly votes anyway.

It wouldn't bother me one bit if they pushed the whole election back a couple of weeks. As McCain's slogan reads "Country First"!

How about canceling the election altogether?

Can Dumbo do any worse if we leave him in for another year or two?

It's really unfair to anyone who wins...trying to deal with the stench of Bush blunders...let the "decider" swim in his own cesspool instead of passing his mess to the unlucky winner in November.

The question : is Mccain doing this out of fear for his role in a failed policy coming under attack or is he a real"patriot" who wants to go vote?.

Please read my blog, Debate or not to Debate.

John McCain is putting his Country first and I have great respect for that.

As for the debates, lets have VP's candidates debate this week and have the Presidential candidates do theirs next week.

"The question : is Mccain doing this out of fear for his role in a failed policy coming under attack or is he a real"patriot" who wants to go vote?."

Better to vote and have people tell you that you voted wrong than not to vote and have people tell you that you should have! Obama shirks his voting responsibility as it is. It's easy for him to claim he's done no wrong when he's hardly doing anything at all.

Anyone who's been on a debate team knows you don't show up unprepared. You can't prepare for a debate and focus this task at hand. Calling for a leadership meeting as McCain is doing, will do a whole lot more than Obama's "Joint statement". That's the essence of "Country First"!

Good idea Kerp! Let the Veeps go first. But then again, Biden should have his butt up there too! He is still a Senator after all.

How can McCain prepare himself to dodge his parties role in this mess?

Can't be done, that's why he wants to postpone.

I'm fairly new to all this blogging stuff so I know someone will jump in and correct me if I'm wrong. But I do believe that McCain told the senate a couple of years ago where all this was heading. And tried to get a bill passed that would help fix things. But couldn't get enough politicians behind him. And isn't the senate and congress made up of democrats and republicans. I think that there is blame on both sides. Words are cheap but actions tell a lot about a man. I think McCain is doing what he said he would do and that is put Country FIRST. With Obama it is the same old thing. A lot of words and NO ACTION. I could promise you the moon but it doesn't mean I could deliver it. Just my opinion. Guess I'll spend more time on fact check just to make sure of all of this. But I think that's where I read this about McCain.

YD,

McCain needs to go back to Washington to save us from Barney Frank and Chris Dodd! "The short sighted overseers!"

When a general puts guards on a post, it's up to them to keep the enemy from sneaking past! Frank and Dodd fell asleep at their post! Some would contend intentionally. If this were the army, they would be in the stockade!

When I heard Obama say the "show must go on" (Friday's debate) I almost fell off the couch! A "show" is what he is making of the situation. McCain is doing the right thing. I do not care about all the promises they are making, and would discuss at the debate. They need to be doing something NOW.

As to Obama's ads still showing... the networks should stop them.

McCain is right, doing what he was elected as a Senator, Our President has asked for a meeting of all Congresspersons and Senators. Obama should follow McCains lead after all he's still a Senator, I guess his quest to be President comes first, McCain on the other hand is doing his elected job, something Obama hasn't done his Senate voting and attendance record is very bad. Kinda makes one think, will his bad record of doing nothing gon on as President if elected???

I'd prefer to hear them both speak, as scheduled, regarding what they are planning on doing about all the corruption.

This has been brewing for awhile and no one jumped up to do anything. Let's hear em both speak.

Especially John McCain.

Imho, to do what is right is to not support this bailout as laid out. No oversight? Above the law? gmab. Has everyone called their congresscritters yet?

Osama wants to get the debate over with so he can start up more lies about McCain to make himself look better. It's obvious that as always the only thing Osama Obama cares about is himself. Screw the country! It's all about HIM!!!

It would seem by scanning the opinions here that most of us are siding with McCain. Multiply that by the population and that spells trouble for Obama.

YD,

You have yet to answer what branch of the government Barney Frank and Chris Dodd work for?

McCain is a Real Hero... with MORE "HONOR and Statesmanship" in A Hair on his Head... than In All of.."Obama!"

Who NOW is the Coward??? Of couse Obama!

Opps! Perhaps I should NOT Speak that way of... "A Community Leader... That VOTED PRESENT in the Senate Over 100-Times???"

Thanks for Asking! Roger459

To my pals, gtruck and roger, I've said many times Mccain is a real hero and I gave a piece of bleep who called him a coward enough insults to get stangs blog yanked. So don't give me any crapola about calling McCain a war coward.

If you took the time to read my post instead of getting your noses jerked out of shape, you would notice that I use this term in conjunction with his dodging the debate.

I think he knows that Obama will hand him his head on a platter and he's using this "crisis" (mostly the fault of of HIS party) to weasel out of trouble.

Others have a different opinion and that's just spiffy.

It is the responsibility of us liberal pinko commies to point out these obvious facts to those who spend their time bowing before the image of their hero George W. (run everything into the slime) Bush.

MACCAINE IS FAR FROM A WAR COWARD AS YOU SAID. BUT NOR IS WORRIED ABOUT A DEBATE....LOOK AS THIS GUYS BACK GROUND I DONT THINK HE IS WORRIED ABOUT NOTHING BUT THE THINGS THAT ARE REASONALE FOR HIM TO CHANGE..

NO ONE CAN CHANGE ANY PROBLEM AS LARGE AS WE HAVE IN 4 - 8 YEAR...NO WAY....NO..HOW...CANT BE....DONE..SO WHY MUST ..LIE... NO.BAMA.. I LIKE THAT ....ONLY THING HE MAY CHANGE IS THE WORLD VIEW OF US AS A NATION..

AND HOW CAN YOU BLAME 1 PERSON FOR A MISTAKE THAT TOOK MANY YEARS AND 1,000 OF PEOPLE LATER TO SURFACE.....THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN IN OUR FACE FOR YEARS ...OPEN YOUR EYES..

THIS IS IN NO WAY AN INSULT TO YOU, IT'S JUST THE WAY I SEE THINGS...

YD,

You and I were on the same page when Damian called McCain a coward and I know your blog's title is provocative rhetoric, and not calling him a coward as Damian did. I don't see however how you can claim he's ducking a debate. He has never said he wouldn't debate, only that he would like to focus on this issue before that happens. You also keep saying things like... "I think he knows that Obama will hand him his head on a platter and he's using this "crisis" (mostly the fault of of HIS party) to weasel out of trouble." Why wont you admit that the keepers of the oversight keys are Chris Dodd and Barney Frank? Both of which are democrats!

You know that I'll come to the defense of anyone here when they are attacked for being right. But I'll just as quickly call that same person out when they are wrong. Just like I did Vitto recently for telling a lie and hoping to get away with it by later claiming it was a joke.

Seem's like when Bush called O'bama jumped,me myself would like to see Colin Powell run, The man is smart and know's a hell of alot, and I haven't had my nose jerked out of shape, and let me ask you this YD. if O'bama does make it, knowing how hafe this country is,gun toting redneck's how long do you think he will last?? Hopefully colin Powell will serve us again gtruck. He would have been a great Pres.

The use of the term "campaign coward" was just a bit of pot stirring stang. The issue is legit however and Mccain seems to be playing the bailout in an attempt to milk some good out of a really bad time for the 'pubs.

We'll see tomorrow?

Hey, wanna ,make a little bet about who wins the debate? I say Obama by a healthy margin. Same for Biden over Palin.

I agree with JANICELPED. Anyone who is looking at this logically can see that Obama is an ignorant egomaniac, and McCain is one of our finest public servants in Washington.
