I get "gossies" when I sing the National Anthem.

Our FLAG brings joy to my heart.

"AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL"  IS beautiful.

My grandpa  died from a mustard gas attack in WW1.

My daddy had two Navy sub-chasers sunk from underneath him in WW2.

I volunteered (not drafted) for duty in Viet Nam.

I am in the midst of a great "soul search" of where MY America has gone.

A Nation which prided itself on "pay as you go" now has a national debt of $57,000,000,000,000..FIFTY-SEVEN TRILLION DOLLARS.........that's $187,000 for each American. (the lying gov't claims it's  ONLY 11.7 Trillion but they cook the books; go to www.truthin2008.org:.webloc  for the TRUTH).

We don't really care if all the immigration laws are violated on a daily bases because it's "good for corporate America".

"Where is FEMA" is the cry instead of "How can I prepare for a disaster?"

Our inept, lying, crooked Government (both parties) want to add another 700 BILLION dollars to our debt (taxpayers foot the bill) to BAILOUT greedy, criminal enterprises which reaped BILLIONS of dollars on profits before the pyramid collapsed. This includes FOREIGN LENDERS!!!!!

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY AMERICA ?

I fear it IS GONE and it shall never return. The country which my ancestors and myself were willing to die for is NO MORE.

I may be a bit morose and overreacting but that's how I feel today.

The land of FREE ENTERPRISE and HONESTY IN GOVERNMENT is DEAD.

What shall we do?

We're not dead yet! Don't allow that $700 billion
to change hands without guidelines and safeguards
built-in to protect the individual tax payers.

They would love to ram this money through with
nothing to protect us. TERRIBLE !!!!
We DO have time to protect our selves.

Hopefully the fools in Congress will put some accountability on the fools in the Executive. Hopefully!

That's not what caused our decline Wild..that's just a racist remark.

Dog~ welcome to the ME generation where its only important if it affects ME. I want instant gradification. I want instant success. I want, I want, I want and don't you dare ask me to work, contribute or sacrifice for any of it. Just give it to me now!

I dont' think America is dead, but I do think that it will take those like you and me who know what she used to be like to keep reminding others that America is a great nation but she is only as strong as her weakest link.

Don't give up on her just yet.

After 9-11 our world changed but this latest round of greed and fat cat bailouts, coupled with the other 300 issues of the day says "If we ain't dead, we're critical"!

Where is Dr Livingston when you need him?

I don't like the bailout any more than you do, but if it isn't done, and done immediately, we will be in a depression that will make the Great Depression of '28 look like a booming economy.

The question Frank, in avoiding a depression (if you believe the tale of woe from a government who two weeks ago said we were economically sound) what price are we paying?

This is the absolute death of the free enterprise system of business in America. From now on we'll have a form of socialistic, nationalized business model.

Why not just go ahead and nationalize all financial and energy concerns and be done with it.

At least we'll know the name of the game.

Political Correctness is exactly what is killing us! We cannot call it a recession or a depression it is now a economic slowdown. That is just the begining.......we need to kill this PC society now before it is too late!

Without the bailout (which has increased to a possible ONE and a THIRD TRILLION DOLLARS as of today) we are going "over the edge" into an economy as bad or worse than the great depression of '29. (according to the administration of Dumbo "Herbert Hoover" Bush).

It's really strange that GW claimed 2 weeks ago that we were in a "tough spot" but the economy was basically sound.

These people could sell their debt today, at market value, but they are smart enough to count on our ignorance and their lobby.

Don't be a sucker! Say no the bailout!

I will never, ever give up on my beautiful America, I will never, ever surrender my rights as an True-Blooded American Citizen, I will never, ever salute the flag of another country, while standing on THIS LAND, I will never, ever turn my back on America, and I will fight for Her, tooth and nail, with every breath in my body, to see that my kids and grand kids get the same opportunities (more hopefully) that my parents offered me, by living right HERE in the USA!

This bail out is not as bad as you think. Granted it is a lot of money, but it is not all gone. The mortgages can be sold in the future, or the properties that were mortgaged can be sold.

Much of the money will be recovered. It is not just being flushed down the toilet. Yes, some of the money will be lost, but I believe most of it will be recovered.

Maybe the govt could excuse some of the late morgage payments or possibly give tax breaks to the home owners who got caught.
Some of them were obviously not too smart when they got hooked with those ARM"S.
Its too bad some got stuck but we should not be the ones to save them because they were not thinking we should do something..
How about giving us back the ability to include our credit card and other charge cards as deductions as they were once used.
Maybe a better deduction for medical expenses like any thing we use for illness family emergencies, kids accidents that are not covered by insurance.
Over the counter drugs nad aids etc..
There are so many things we coulddo but until we get the politicians to stop their wasteful ways we are doomed.
Get rid of ALL of them it isnt the big spot thats important its those low lifes in the senate & comgress!!!!

Ok this will be long...

The bailout is necessary in my opinion but that doesn't make it even the least bit palatable. We could bounce back with out it and probably better because people would be forced to do business intelligently but lets face it the people in business today don't want to use hard work or even do it honestly, they are in it to make a buck at any cost. Right now it seems that corporation are using the last days of the Bush administration to cash out all their chips before their free ride is over then they can retire somewhere in South America, like Brazil, where the economy is booming.

As for the America you remember Yellow Dog, keep in mind how many people enlisted in the Armed Forces to go to Afghanistan after 9/11? People still have the right frame of mind.

I just cant believe people are complaining about Liberals who have been saying for years to hold big business accountable, but now that the end of the big business boom comes around they are being poked at again and being blamed as the cause. If you name one liberal who has supported big business I'll show you a Republican in sheep's clothing.

I'm a Moderate but I still saw this coming. I think it's about time to kick the republicans and democrats out of Washington and form a new party of Americans for America not big business. People insuring that the working class and middle class come first before the fat cats and big business. It's time to stop the raping of America and stand up for what is ours. We send our children off to fight in wars for for big business to get rich off. We put our

Cont....

We put our tax dollars in to bail out people who spend more a day on clothes than some of us live off in a year. How can we sit back and justify this behavior to ourselves or our children. For down the line it's going to be our children that are going to have to pick up this mess. In my opinion let America go back to the economic principles of the turn of the last century. Working men and working families driving the economy not economic guru's fixing books and manipulating the economy by lobbying to the democrats and republicans in Washington.

Let us once again become America the home of the brave, not America the home of the dollar. Let us put principles back into our economy, ethics back into business! Stop going to the company's that exploit their employees and their customers. Support small business rather coporate fat cats. Put the money into your neighbors pockets not to the 5% who already own 95% of America's money. Why cant they help bail America out? Why are they depending on you and your tax dollar/ With that it's 9:00pm and New shows are on. Take care.

I am an Independent but wonder how a 3rd party could be formed when in primaries we only have a few cholices but have to be registered as one or rhe other?
Takining control from the ones in power ia big job and as long as the media feeds their lies to us some; mostly all will follow like sheep and accept because its too much trouble to care.
Where would you start??
Good post Sagerman nice accurate stuff.

Revolution is the answer my friends !!

power corrupts and once the people we elect to DC or state level get in office- its all about them not us. our emails are deleted-our letters (If you still use the old way) are sent straight into the circle file....

How can we have a government that will not give the same medical and health benefits they enjoy-to our armed forces people?

why is there not term limits in congress etc?

The bail out is probably right in in opinion-however there has got to be safeguards built in (seeing as IM bailing them out)

how were these CEOs not put in jail and thier money taken from them?

why cant I choose A la carte channels for my tv instead of having to buy a package !!!

how can the FLorida PSC allow the Electric monopoly to get away with charging me a "Customer charge" on my bill every month !!

Arrrggghhhhh

Same old story the power company wants to charge us for the fuel they use to generate our power and we have to fund it what a ripoff you are right on!!
Like the Orlando Magic wants us to fund an arena for a private corporation namely the team and the owner gets off without the expense of building the thing.
I wopuld like to get thet advantage have taxpayers build me a plant and let me make money without spending a cent on the project.
Bad comparison using the MAGIC but they too are becoming a ripoff!!
