It Is What It Is

John McCain announced he is suspending his campaign to return to Washington in light of the economic dilemma, and he also now wants to postpone the FIRST presidential debate with only a month and change left til the election.   This in addition to the wall the campaign has put around Palin at campaign stops, and campaign ads that clearly blur the truth or just flat out lie.   Don't get me wrong, because I was p.o'd when Obama refused to do a series of town hall debates.   I'm beginning to believe that neither one of these candidates has a platform they believe in.  Just more of the same 'get me elected' junk from two candidates arguing to be agents of change...  Change is inevadable,  we've seen alot of change the last eight years, well, actually the last sixteen years.  Good or bad is in the eye of the beholder.   It's clear to see the interests of corporate america supercede ours.   I don't see congress declaring an emergency session to reevaluate the free trade agreements that clearly have contributed to the joblessness and trade deficits and stagnant economy.  Republicans want a free market when it serves them, but want the government to bail them out when they fail.  Investment comes with risk.  THEY should take the loss, not the  taxpayer.  Democrats want to tax and spend, Republicans want to cut and spend, spend, spend.    We need to stop spending everything not absolutely necessary and levy the taxes necessary to get us out of foreign debt.  We give these companies tax breaks to move overseas.  I hate 'em all....politicians that is....  WE NEED TO SUSPEND THE US GOVERNMENT TO RETURN TO DEMOCRACY.

I disagree, with you truth. Although it may appear as a tactic, and could serve as a tactic, of the two McCain has more sincerity and patriotism toward the country. I believe if Obama REALLY wanted to help, he'd agree with McCain and show some teamwork. However, his "eliteness," won't allow that; and so he looks like a fool, especially after dodging the other offers all this time and now screams for the debate on Friday.

Bush did overspend, however, McCain doesn't want to continue that path. So, I believe we should give him a chance to show us, with this postponement, and Obama should join in; if for no other reason, he was elected to serve in the Senate, and he's not even doing that job.

There's no reason... They can speak their piece today... they can vote tomorrow.. and they can get to the debate.. There are plenty of others working on this legislation.. If John McCain were any more of a Patriot, he would show respect for honesty, integrity, and moral conviction, which he doesn't. He supports furthering our free trade policies and making it easier for illegal immigrants. Don't let the nice campaign ads with U.S. flags(probably made in china) make you forget teh facts.

Are you smoking crack? Obama's the biggest stumper for illegals! Illegals are the new welfare class that democrats need! I thought your post was reasonable at first...my bad!

McCain and Graham are two of the biggest amnesty proponents man... Of course he did completely flip flop on his economic view too... Again the only thing bipartisan is the fleecing of america.

I don't like the position either candidate spouts on illegals; Neither Obama or McCain would get a vote from me based on that. However, you have to look at all issues, specifically, who's got the "core," elements to lead; and that's clearly McCain. I've talked to McCain, and suggested that he should take a firm stance on illegals; that he should, for the sake of the country, commit a "flip," on illegals; citing their round-up and deportation, eliminate all benefits etc...too radical, for him. I told him that's the problem with many politicians, they don't listen. When 80% of the country's screaming to kick the illegals out....and both candidates turn a blind eye...well, that's disappointing. I firmly believe that if a candidate took a firm stance, right now, to build the wall and curb the tide of illegals, they'd gain voting share. Who knows...however, McCain's the better of the two in overall leadership.

I'm a working class white man in my mid 20's. I am politically and religiously independent, although I consider myself a conservative. The intent of my blog is to engage people to further the understanding that the two party system is a farce and is stifling democracy.
