I've got an idea for fox 35, and my fellow blogger. Fox stands to gain ratings, and web traffic, as well as taking a role in supporting democracy.
A TELEVISED POLITICAL BLOGGER'S REFERENDUM with the theme Americans Solving America's Problems. Participation should be open to currently active bloggers, including fox reporters, up to, let's say 40 total, with 30 seconds each to briefly address each topic. Five days, five topics, a half hour each day, although it could be filmed all at once. Have a follow up debate series the following week with the top 10 based on viewer votes, where the speakers would have two rounds of one minute speeches. Speaking order would be based on luck of the draw, for each topic. My proposed agenda of topics:
1) What is the most significant change we could make to improve America?
2) Where do Capitalism and Democracy meet, that is what should be the role of the government in regulating the practices of Corporate America for the national interest?
3) In light of historically low presidential and congressional approval ratings, how can we reform the political process to ensure accurate representation of the majority? Is the two party monopoly counterproductive?
4) Considering soaring jobless rates, and trade deficits, how should we address our trade policies?
5) Given the cost, and rising global tensions, do we need to reconsider our occupation and reconstruction efforts in Iraq?
Participants could retain anonymity, if they'd like, just require a login and password to enter. I will out myself. This a chance for REAL people, make a REAL effort, through a REAL free press. This is a way to make all of this actually mean something more than venting rhetoric. Who else has got the guts? Speak up. If you believe in what you say, then stand up and be heard. Answer to this Fox. Here's your chance. It's viable and it's profitable. E tu, fox reporters, must be able to appreciate the concept if your blogs are anything more than contractual obligations. Please, at least post this, run it by your producers, judge blogger response, and give an answer.

John McCain announced he is suspending his campaign to return to Washington in light of the economic dilemma, and he also now wants to postpone the FIRST presidential debate with only a month and change left til the election. This in addition to the wall the campaign has put around Palin at campaign stops, and campaign ads that clearly blur the truth or just flat out lie. Don't get me wrong, because I was p.o'd when Obama refused to do a series of town hall debates. I'm beginning to believe that neither one of these candidates has a platform they believe in. Just more of the same 'get me elected' junk from two candidates arguing to be agents of change... Change is inevadable, we've seen alot of change the last eight years, well, actually the last sixteen years. Good or bad is in the eye of the beholder. It's clear to see the interests of corporate america supercede ours. I don't see congress declaring an emergency session to reevaluate the free trade agreements that clearly have contributed to the joblessness and trade deficits and stagnant economy. Republicans want a free market when it serves them, but want the government to bail them out when they fail. Investment comes with risk. THEY should take the loss, not the taxpayer. Democrats want to tax and spend, Republicans want to cut and spend, spend, spend. We need to stop spending everything not absolutely necessary and levy the taxes necessary to get us out of foreign debt. We give these companies tax breaks to move overseas. I hate 'em all....politicians that is.... WE NEED TO SUSPEND THE US GOVERNMENT TO RETURN TO DEMOCRACY.

Anyone else stop to wonder just what our government is going to do with all of these homes they now have control of? Could we be witnessing the immigration and housing problems converge? It doesn't seem that there are enough American's who can buy them. Given both of our candidates stance on globalism, I wonder if we'll have an open immigration policy emerge, or even a foreign government buying up bulk lots of real estate. What do you think?

I highly doubt fox will post this, as they won't post any clear indictments of the NWO. Although they will post the distractive partisan bickering. Fox... You are part of the problem.
Economic guru, I am not, but it doesn't take one to see what we are up against here... The more you look at the numbers, and listen to our treasurer and our presidential candidates, the LESS it makes any sense at all. $1.3 trillion dollars(which is a typical unreallistically conservative figure) is what Paulson's vague proposal is slated to cost, and that is for the GOVERNMENT to assume control of the largest mortgage entities in America, the largest insurance entity in America and purchasing valueless debts of countless other struggling banks. And then they have these puppet economists putting the pollyanna spin on the whole thing, implying that this will actually PROFIT the government and people. Pollyanna meaning unrealistically optimistic. By assuming these debts, it is being said, banks will be freed up to extend even MORE credit which will supposedly restart the economy. Fix the credit epidemic with MORE CREDIT? With astronomical jobless rates, skyrocketing energy and food costs and personal debt, how is lending more going to help anything beyond a short lived burst? Best case scenario, people will then again mortgage these properties from the government AGAIN, just shifting and reshuffling the same problem. Worst case scenario, the government and taxpayers are stuck with worthless mortgage securities and unpaid loans when it doesn't work and the banks run right back down. We are in the most vulnerable position imaginable. We already have a budget we cannot fund. Not to mention the 53 trillion dollar entitlement nuke that's about to drop. We have been laid to waste by debt and reckless spending, despite partisan bickering, there are NO conservatives in Washington. WHO IS GOING TO BAIL OUT AND TAKE CONTROL OF THE US GOVERNMENT IS THE BIG QUESTION.

Despite attempts by the candidates to relate to working class Americans, neither side has taken a stance on reforming our trade policies that really stands to improve the situation for the American worker. Obama's solution to everything is tax credits, which is a euphamism for welfare, which would be nice if money grew on trees. . . well I guess money is printed on paper, that comes from trees, and the more money they produce, the less it's worth, like fruit . . .so I was wrong, in America money does grow on trees, but we owe Farmer Federal Reserve and the Banker Boys nearly 10 trilion dollars. What's a few more trillion between buddies, right? McPalin is working the time tested approach of playing on 9/11 and war time patriotism, and their solution to the economy is "energy indepenence", adding Alaska's National Wildlife Refuge to proposed drilling expansion. Have we as Americans not witnessed the trends in the fuel industry? With this global capitalist mentality, which has manifested it's ambition and potential with the implementation of the FTA's and WTO, do people really still rationally believe that increased drilling will mean lower prices? That oil and natural gas, like oil and gas pumped from federal and state land and offshore already will be sold at market value, to whoever buys it us, the chinese, whoever. We are in a sense, allowing these corporations to rob us of our national resources, with tax incentives. We pay a price that is so high, industries profits are so high why?. . . not because of production costs, but because of market value, however whenever there is a production issue speculation runs rampant and prices increase more than they ever go back down. The investment banking industry is a big player in all of this. These "American" corporations are no longer American but Global. In a sense, they are their own sovereign entities, although we as Americans bear them on OUR backs, more and more so as we as a people allow corrupt leaders to further indebt us to the very same corporations. Free trade would be great if it were as it was presented to us originally, but this "FREE" trade is a one way street. We're doing business with our enemies, and putting the american worker in unfair competion with foreign industry that does not have vaguely respectable labor, environmental or quality and safety standards. Our trade defecit, national debt, unemployment rate and economy speak for themselves despite partisan spin and stock exchange numbers. It's time everyone get a grip and quit buying into this partisan bs election that the media has down our throat since '06. It's irrelevant. These politicians, who portray themselves as bitter enemies, really aren't. There is a game being played and WE are the pawns. If the American people were paying the least bit of attention, the next revolutionary war would be fermenting right now. Why are our borders still open? Why are they clearing all the analog radio frequencies? Why are they putting RFID chips in US passports? Why does the FEDERAL RESERVE, a private institution, control the value and inflation of our currency? Why does NOONE in the media talk about the SPP that Bush secretly signed with the mexican president and canadian prime minister? Why do they still defend the Free trade agreements? Why will this never make the community page? ..Why...Why? I'll tell you why. We are being corraled into global communism. Don't believe it? Have you all heard about the coming North American Union? While our troops are supposedly fighting for our country, our government is dissolving it. Crank the AC, this is going to make your blood boil. What is shocking is how much our free press has been hushed on this. It is laid out in the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, check out the official website SPP.gov. There is a network of diplomats within our government and abroad striving towards one world government. They comprise the Council on Foreign Relations. CFR is comprised our State Department, Secretaries of Defense, National Security Advisors, CEO's of some of our largest corporations, Federal Reserve officials....the BLEEP is deep. THERE REALLY IS A SHADOW GOVERNMENT!!
This is not new, it goes back to post WWII,,,and the media has remained informed and SILENT. David Rockefeller, who chaired the CFR for 15 years, also created the Trilateral Commission. His family donated the land that the UN building sits on. In 1991, Rockefeller was quoted: "We're grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and kept there promises of discretion for almost 40 years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But the world now is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government." And another gem: “Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interest of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”
The CFR, though not a government agency, just as the federal reserve is not a government agency, is just as intertwined in our leadership. It’s the only bipartisan cooperation in Washington. It is moving fast now, and people are blind to the legislation being shuffled through like the Military Commissions Act and the National Defense Authorization Act, published by the CFR, bypassing habeas corpus, even for citizens and granting the President the authority to invoke martial law and seize control of state national guard units….the authority of the President to turn the military on our own people.
The free trade agreements are intentionally designed to destroy the independent economy and government. They rob the government of corporate taxes, they are destroying the value of our dollar, and recklessly indebt us to… the Federal Reserve, among others. Our economy is NOT going to improve and the jobs AREN’T coming back. In the midst of despair they will convince the american people that this union, the amero currency are essential to strengthening our economy, the same way they sold NAFTA.

As we continue to run a defecit and finance our government on borrowed money, I can't help but wonder just where the buck stops. If you break our debt down, every man, woman and child in the U.S is responsible for roughly $40,000! That being on top of the private debt that the majority are buried under. So what if some of the major lenders in this fiasco decide to collect or cash in their bonds? Our already weakened dollar certainly doesn't need that. What really worries me is that our President and so-called leaders have little or no concern, and almost seem to have a purpose in doing so. It seems as though they are funneling as much money through gov't contracts to hand-picked corporations on our nation's course to bankruptcy. Are we witnessing the hostile take over of our nation? The United States of Bank of America? MSUSA? Can anyone else make any better sense of it than me?

My first thought was I better not touch this with a 10' pole, but I will. Now I'm not trying to demean POW's by any means, but this just seems like a lack of sense to me.
17 American Gulf War veterans sued Iraq in federal court in 2002, and were awarded $959 MILLION. All of the soldiers had been released during the Gulf War, and returned to active duty. President Bush, and the Supreme Court refused it. Now they're pushing it again. This is one of those rare occasions when I agree with Bush. Is that really going to help the situation in Iraq, in light of all the damages innocents have suffered and continue to? And it's not like we haven't had our own abuse scandals in Iraq and elsewhere in CIA detention. This would only spark trouble. If anything, America should take care of these guys, but 959 million dollars is a bit ridiculous if you ask me.

If impeachment requires a 2/3 majority, then our government should be impeached.
1. Fewer than a third of americans approve of the President.
2. Even fewer still approve of the congress.
3. Even fewer still feel America is heading in the right direction.

As a nation, we are now spending well in excess of half a trillion on defense, conservatively. It's a major contributor to the fact that we are 10 trillion dollars in debt. Our global military and economic structure, are undeniably IMPERIAL. Our foreign occupations are in direct conflict with the very principles of our Constitution. They use "defending american interest" and "combatting our shared terrror problem" as cause to, in a very real sense, police the world. What happened to the concept of national sovereinty? We shouldn't have so much "national interest" in every one else's political and economic affairs, other than on an embassy and intelligence gathering level. Our global military should be cut almost completely, with perhaps the exception of missile batteries, and our naval fleet. Our carriers and subs can get anywhere they need to be in an adaquate amount of time. We have adaquate missile defense. Bring our troops home and defend OUR nation. We should maintain our weaponry, and continue development, and maintain our elite fighting units, the national guards, coast guard and the marines, but we do not need a large standing army. If it comes to a War, the government should call on it's men and women, and if necessary issue a draft. The wreckless spending to protect corporate american interest, at the expense of our people is unjustifiable.....except to those who will agree to anything said to fight terrorism and see WTC footage with Toby Keith background music.

It looks like the american housing market is really starting to take its toll as global markets plummet. I don't feel a bit sorry for the real estate speculators and lenders taking a hit because it's their fault to begin with. How much do you want to bet, though,that congress still doesn't have the spine to make any significant reform of banking regulations? It really got under my skin wathcing the dem. debate last night, when they made the assertion, on MLK day, before the black caucus that it is a race problem. It is an AMERICAN low to middle income problem. It is an ALL american problem. I hope people start pulling their money out of the banks in general and really fudge up their profit party.

Michigan's Secretary of State just declared that Michigan will require proof of citizenship before issuing driver's licenses. It's about time they took a stand to defend the constitution on the matter. 7 more states to go.
