Pregnant With AIDS

I got very sad news from my mom yesterday. My cousin, who has AIDS, is pregnant. She already has 2 children that her mother takes care of because she is addicted to crack.  A couple of years ago, she got so sick, we didn't think she would live much longer. Now...she's pregnant! I'm not sure who will take care of this child, but it sickens and saddens me that this poor defenseless baby will be born with a disease that has no cure. The worst part is that it could have been prevented. It also makes me wonder how a woman that doesn't take care of the children she has and is infected with AIDS, is given the blessing of a another child. While there are other couples that are married for years, healthy and dying to have children. I know you're not supposed to question the "Higher Power", but it does make me wonder.  I just hope a miracle happens and he or she is born healthy!

She should have been sterilized, people who are letting everyone else, be it the government or there own family, to take responsibility for there actions is pitiful.
I'am so sick of hearing that but "I HAVE A DISEASE", like that justifies any despicable action that they choose to do, so this junkie will continue on getting high and spreading AIDS with no consequences.
The real losers are the grandparents that are stuck raising THERE children for the simple reason that they have only one thing on there mind, doing what THEY WANT TO DO!
All the bleeding hearts that are thinking that it is cold-hearted, need to wake up and realize that the real villain in this story is that JUNKIE that keeps spitting out diseased children like a German Shepard and then walking away to go score some more JUNK!

I agree with ramkm wholly. First of all, this person needs help herself. By the way, nobody forced her to do those drugs and nobody forced her to have sex. And if they did, they need to be incarcerated for their crime. In case she didn't know, that is how one gets pregnant. These people are a bilght on society and need to be dealt with accordingly. Although it is against my religion, this fetus needs to be aborted as soon as possible.

Hopefully the doctors can prevent the disease from spreading to the unborn child. I think that is possible? I really feel bad for her mother. She should be enjoying her golden years, but instead she has to take care of her grandchildren.

It is possible for children to be born and not have HIV.
A lot of children also need good homes. Not all of them are cute little babies. I think if men and women want to have a child and can't, they should think about all the children who need good homes.

I am the very proud mother of a daughter named Jordyn. She is the smartest, sweetest, funniest kid I've ever met (I guess I may be a little biased). We have three cats, Jazmyn, Jakob and Joshua.
