I found out last week that my ex-boyfriend is getting married!  It probably sounds cliche, but I am REALLY happy for him.  For the longest time we weren't able to talk to each other about our boyfriends/girlfriends, because it was uncomfortable. But now that we're both in happier relationships I think it's easier.  Once I found out the details of his wedding.....I really knew he and I were never meant to be and he has found his soulmate.

They're getting married on St. Augustine Beach. But there aren't any tux's. There are groomspeople, because they have both men and women in their bridal/groom party. His uncle was supposed to sing as they walked down the isle..but he can't come so they'll be walking to monster ballads from the 80's ( I think it's Whitesnakes "Is this love").  Their friend, who is a tv reporter got his notary license so he can preside over the nuptials. And then.....there's no reception. There serving sandwiches and meeting at the hotel bar later in the day! That's it. Short, sweet and simple. The bride-to-be is thrilled with their plans and they're both so excited!  This couple is kismet! Truly meant to be. I would NEVER have allowed us to get married like this...NEVER!  Clearly why we didn't succeed as a couple. He found his true love and I am thrilled...but I'm not invited to the wedding.

So what's the most non-traditional wedding you've been to, or been in? I would love to hear your story.

I would say that the strangest was when one of my brothers got married. He has been involved with someone previously and has a son from that relationship. His ex was at the wedding with her new husband (and he went to her wedding). The bride invited her ex-sister in law (those two are like sisters) who came with her boyfriend. Her brother came with his new girlfriend.

"Is THis Love" from Whitesnake is one of my all-time favorite rock ballads.

Strangest wedding... my best friends daughter!Bride in a black gown with a red veil, groom in a white tux with a red vest, attendants in black and everyone wearing RED sneakers! Best man was the brides ex-husband, maid of honor was the grooms baby's mamma. No rings...they got TATTOO'S around their fingers instead. The reception was Bar-B-Que and corn on the cob and they took the best man and the maid of honor on their honeymoon with them. One I won't forget for a long time and neither will my best friend.

You'll love this....I was a notary. The strangest wedding was ...A Drunk to a crackhead. He wasn't drunk when he got married, but he is a known drunk around the town I lived. I laughed through the whole thing!

DoninOrlando-
Are you being a little instigator?? There's nothing funny going on here. Really. I only know about the wedding because he told me. I must admit, since I'm a reporter at heart, I did ask for all the details about the engagement and wedding. I'm always interested in matters of the heart. BTW, are the crackhead and drunk still married?

My uncle is a charter boat captain. A number of years ago, he was allowed to marry people in international waters.

He had 2 services, one was the usual "Dearly Beloved..."; the other was much simpler...

Captain to Bride: Do you?
Bride: Yes
Captain to Groom: Do you?
Groom: Yes
Captain to both: You sure?
Both: Yes
Captain to witnesses: They do, they're sure, so now they are. Let's fish.

I am the very proud mother of a daughter named Jordyn. She is the smartest, sweetest, funniest kid I've ever met (I guess I may be a little biased). We have three cats, Jazmyn, Jakob and Joshua. Jake is my favorite, he's a cat that act's like a dog! Seriously, he greets me at the door, fetches toys, and chews on my shoes!! Thanks for joining the my fox orlando community and I invite you to join my blog and speak your mind.
