I posted this question in a response on another BLOG, but received no answers.

Can anyone tell me the following:

I'd like to know the FACTS and STATS on the following:


1. # CCW permits in Florida

2. # people with CCW that have committed crimes

3. Same as 2, but how-many used weapons

ALSO
How about same questions on a National level??

Im working on it.. The porblem is most of the studies where done by those who oppose gun ownership. thus the information is tainted to serve their purpose.. :o(

1.Issued CCW permits in Florida As of March 31/08: 484,578

2. people with CCW that have committed crimes, 1% out of 484,587.

3. States with CCW laws experienced lower violent crime rates without exception.

On average violent crime was 24 percent lower; there were 22 percent fewer murders, 37 percent fewer robberies and 20 percent fewer aggravated assaults than in states that do not issue CCW permits.
