Anyone know any honest transmission places around town? I think mine is going out on my Acura. Anyone have a good or bad experience with someone? I am liking what Aamco's website says and they offer a good warranty. I know little about cars and do not want to have to call on Tom Sussi for help because I got ripped off. Any help is greatly appretiated.

Aamco is a national brand and is your best bet , but how many miles are on your car ? Is the engine going to last long enough justify the cost of replacing the transmission ? If it is in question consider calling some of the junk yards in Bithlo and having a used tranny installed with a 90 day warranty...its cheaper and if the car is getting old usually works out just fine.

RCN,

Thanks for the info! I thought Aamco might be good. A good friend of mine who has been a service tech for Saturn for years came over last night and took a peek and said it probably is not the transmission but something else a lot more minor. I put a call in to Acura this morning to see when they can get me in. The car has 119K miles and this is the first issue it has given me. it is a nice ride most of the time.

Don't really know of outside ones...I usually take my car to the dealer. Sorry
