OK so your “point” is that Hussein was a great guy and Iran (who is currently KILLING American soldiers in Iraq!) should become a nuclear power to support you fact less rants against this President. Halliburton had no bid contracts under Clinton , why do you never bring that up ?

My question is with Iran sitting at the HUB of all that underground oil, Why do they even NEED nuclear power?? Thorn, maybe you should try thinking OUTSIDE of the box?? Iran has already stated they want the U.S. dead and Israel wiped off the face of the earth!! How do you think their gonna do that? With slingshots?? The guy is a lunatic. And he only wants 1 thing.. A completely Muslim world...he has said this also!! I am glad to see when someone in power shows his "pair" and doesn't weazel under to the U.N.!!

WE cannot afford another fumble.
If we want to stop Iran it must be done with International Allies including Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Republic, Israel, Eygpt and our European Allies.
Our go it alone policy would require more than
140 thousand troops that are currently locked into Iraq and Afghanastan.
The impact on out own econmony from 5 dollar a gallon gas will not help pay for a New War with NO Statetgy. Great to talk tough,, better
to speak softly and carry a big stick..

... A purely “defensive” stratagem will not work, no Nation that decided to defend itself only within its borders has ever survived...any “plan” that uses the home guard as its only weapon against an aggressive and dedicated enemy is a wast of time and money , you may as well spend that money on issuing prayer rugs to all of us !
On the other point Iran does have oil but Iraq has more of it ! But the main reason for aggression between Iran and Iraq is the same reason Iraq is always trying to invade its other neighbor ...coast line to off load the oil.

...but is it another war ? Iran has been caught red handed attacking and killing US soldiers in Iraq and Pakistan is invading / harassing our troops in Afghanistan ...By doing nothing to stop this we are sending the message that we are willing to be “defeated” in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is not a “new” war it is the reality of the same war we are already fighting....And WW-III is looming closer not because of our war in Iraq but because of our unwillingness to stand up against our attackers

I for one, most certainly agree!

...but does not your firm conviction that we will not take action , give Iran the ability to do as they wish ? Are we to stand by idly and submit to any and every conceivable insult because we are committed in Iraq and Afghanistan ? It was this kind of “short sighted thinking” that brought WW-I to an end that led directly to WW-II , because we where “tired” and we did not want to “invade” Africa and Asia we made peace with an enemy who had not been defeated .
The really funny thing is that the very best way to avoid having to invade Iran is by making them believe that we are ready and willing to invade! ....Promising that we “will not invade” will surly result in our doing exactly that....feel free to curse my name in 2010 when we are fighting in Iran and Syria.
