African American protestors holding a banner reading "What about the black community Obama?" heckled Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama in Florida on Friday.

Three men stood up as Obama was talking about the economy during a townhall meeting in St Petersburg in Florida, a key battleground state in Obama's duel with Republican John McCain in November's election.

"What about the black community?" the protestors chanted, prompting Obama's crowd of supporters to chant his slogan "Yes We Can" to drown them out.

"Excuse me, young man, this is going to be a question and answer session, so you can ask a question later," Obama told the protestors.

"Sit down. You'll have a chance to ask your questions, but you don't want to disrupt the whole meeting. Just be courteous," he said, before going back to his prepared remarks.

Obama garnered huge support among African American voters during his Democratic primary campaign against Hillary Clinton.

But last month, civil rights icon Jesse Jackson, in a lurid remark picked up by a live television microphone, accused Obama of "talking down to black people," reviving the debate about race in the 2008 campaign.

Obama, son of a white mother from Kansas and a Kenyan father, has made a concerted attempt to ensure that he is not perceived solely as a "black candidate" during his campaign, even though he is trying to become the first African American president.

What about the black community? I get so sick of that!! What about getting off your butt like very other race? Start asking "what about Americans?" The more they get handed the harder they cry.

...but how can any “black American” ever criticize or disagree with Obama , as far as I can tell it is an un written law that AL BLACKS MUST support Obama and can NEVER think for themselves or talk about “issues” !

He got exactly what he deserved. The black people of this country are having the wool pulled over their heads by this wannabe. Should he get elected (God forbid) he will abandon all those who supported him here and lead this nation in the direction of his Muslam upbringing. That would be the begining of the end of this wonderful and FREE nation.

PLOP25 - but wait...according to the UCF political science guru, he's going to be our first black pres....although, I think the hecklers would call him white, since he's 50/50...so, in 4 yrs, he'll have equality; whites and blacks will be sick of him...

A few black people heckled Obama -- so what? Plenty of white people are heckling Bush now, since they're no longer willing to walk with blinders on and finally got the gumption to see things as they are. (As for "the beginning of the end of this wonderful and FREE nation," that began with Bush and Cheney relegating the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to the shredder. And if you're going to take a bigoted swipe at Obama for something that he is *not,* at least be educated enough to get the spelling right -- it's "Muslim," not "Muslam.")

Funny , one of the people who has had blinders on for the past 8 years (and his fingers in his ears) brings the subject back to his “Bush hate” platform....
Hey Felton are you saying we are to place all our hope in congress saving us from Obama's insanity ? The congress that is being held hostage by Pelosi and has created all the very problems that hard line lefties are so thrilled to blame “Bush” for ...

Joe, you and that idiot claiming to be a UCF student need to chill out. Truth of the matter is that the begining of the end actually started with slick willie and how he sold the country down the river. Have you NEVER hit the wrong key while typing? I'm sorry if that offended you.

RNC I just think that people are afraid over somethings that havent even happened yet. People are trying to speculate what kind of President Barack Obama will be and its silly. First of all NO ONE knows the future. Secondly, He hasnt been elected yet! I also think that SOME people are afraid of Obama because he is black. and before anyone accuse me of pulling the race card, I saw a story about this on FOX(Hannity and Colmes to be exact) And if the American people voted for him more than McCain then to me that shows that people want someone different in office. and I dont think it matters what political party the candidate belongs to. If the American people arent happy with the incumbent they will vote for a change. This is a Democratic year just like the election of 2000 was a Republican year.

I am not afraid of Obama because he is black. I am afraid of him because he is an extreme LIBERAL!

Right on Chinky..THIS is ALL I'm hearing on the Liberal MSM is how THIS election is about RACE..They WANT it to be about Race...

And just WHO is it that's the REAL Racist anyway??

The ONE who NEVER brings it up or the one who sees Race in EVERYTHING and points fingers and calls names at EVERYBODY else??

There's an OLD saying,,

"Beware the Accuser for MORE often then NOT they reveal THEMSELVES rather their target"..

99% of the Criticism that I hear about Obama is over the things that HE says he wants to DO and HOW he wants to DO them and 100% of THEM could care less WHAT color he is...

A slap in the face by ANY other color STILL Stings the SAME....

Personally,, I don't see continually selling the American People Short on the Race Issue as a winning Strategy but THAT'S just ME..Seems ONLY natural that THAT could spur FAR more resentment then it does Guilt..
People just naturally don't like being accused of things they are NOT guilty of..

The Libs. have sold this Doom and Gloom to the point where people are rather impatient and not a little bit beyond that "Guilt" trip peddled by the left anyway...

ONE or the other but NEVER both....They cancel each other out..

felton - that's ridiculous. By your logic, why not just let some homeless person be President? At least you'd be getting one off the street.

I could care less if Obama is black. Face it, stupid is an equal opportunity employer, and Mr "I've been to 57 states and have one to go" has it in spades.

No pun intended

Hey thewizard. I seen this story on FOX where people in West Virginia and Arkansas has CLEARLY stated that they will not vote for Obama simply because he is black. and notice I did say SOME people are afraid of Obama because he is black. and also according to the Constitution of America, A homeless person CAN be President as long as he was BORN in the US and at least 35 years of age.

afelton - two sides to the coin; there are many blacks who follow Obama merely because he claims to be black....they won't vote for McCain because he's white.
so....what's your point? If ol' whitey doesn't want to vote for Obama because of his claim to be black...it's no different than the other side of the fence....

It's a shame that as whites we're discriminated against with this, and any other issue relating to color; A black man can scream all day long that he supports Obama merely because of his color. If a white man says that about McCain, he's racist....

afelton read my blog

Hey TM you need to take that up with the story that I saw on FOX not too long ago that clearly stated that some whites wont vote for Obama because he is black. and for the record you are correct when you state that many blacks do follow Obama because he is black and mainly because this is the first time a Black man MIGHT have a shot at the White House. and Plus how many white presidents that Blacks have HELPED put into office anyway? I am sure quite a lot.

My main point however was to say that everyone seem afraid of Obama and dont even know what kind of a leader he will be IF he ever makes it to the White House. All this talk i hear about him changing the flag and painting the White House Black is silly. No one knows. Its Fear and Fear has been bringing people down for centuries.
and also I wont bite my tongue on this one. but its true. Those whites who feel discriminated today now knows what the minorities in the country had to deal with for many years. but I guess I will be branded a racist for saying that, huh?

There is no doubt about it, those "African American protesters" had to have been Democrats!!!!!

I guess that even bad theater sells. Anyone that has watched one of McCain's speeches and watched his poll numbers go up can see that.

afelton - and, again, I tell you that the idea of his color is just unimportant to most people, and no one except Ludicrous believes that he's going to 'paint the White House black.'

He is a MORON. He thinks that he can talk our enemies into being our friends. He thinks that we can save enough gas with tune ups and properly inflated tires to keep from drilling. He thinks that increasing taxes on oil companies will bring down the price of oil

He's too stupid to know how dumb he is

I agree with The Wiz, Afelton, he's (Obama) is just a numbskull, and they come in all colors.

Wizard, I was shaking my head at his statement of, "...seizing the oil company's profits to payout a second rebate check to Americans...."

Talk about a Solicist/communist action....

Couple that with his "no-show," for the wounded soldiers because of no press coverage, and it shows what an empty suit he is.

Afelton, would you hire someone with know experience and with the asso. that he has??
He has very close ties to MILITANT MUSLIM'S his brother Abongo "Roy" Obama is a MILITANT MUSLIM, and "OBAMA" went to Kenya and CAMPAIGNED for him at a RALLY, but you don't hear anything about this. His brother argues that the BLACK MAN must Liberate himself from the poisoning of EUROPEAN CULTURE.
"OBAMA" has stated his SUPPORT for LUO OPPOSITION LEADER in Kenya, Raila Odinga his cousin.
I would think that all these ties to AFRICA WOULD MAKE A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK.
Then you have all business asso. and friends and advisers.
Then you have the trip over seas where he REFUSED TO VISIT THE WOUNDED.
Then you have he didn't want the AMERICAN FLAG displayed behind him
Then he had the AMERICAN FLAG removed from the tail of his plane
Then he did want to wear the FLAG PIN
Then he's said that the US is not a CHRISTIAN COUNTRY.
Then he doen't place his hand over his heart during the NATIONAL ANTHEM.
I DON'T TRUST THE MAN HES TO "CHARISMATIC" IN HIS SPEACHES AND HIS ACTION ARE LIKE HES ABOVE EVERYBODY.

You're RIGHT AF..There was and IS such a story complete with recrimminations..There was ALSO a story NOT so LONG ago about 95% of BLACK S.Carolina Voters voting FOR Obama because he is Black and THAT story was touted as "It's About TIME"...

Clearly though,, there are MORE then ENOUGH reasons to vote against Obama without having to have Race enter into it..

Sageman read my blog
Aug 6, 2008 | 5:37 PM

Anyone who doesn't think that race has anything to do with why many wont vote for Obama is lying to themselves.

Anyone who doesn't think that the Democrats are going to take the election are in denial. Polls have steadily increased in favor of Obama month after month. Though polls are not always the final say, they do speak volumes.

On a lighter note, I went to a party on Sunday and we began talking about who we should vote into office and the overwhelming nominee was Obama. The funny thing is that these were all people that voted Bush the past 8 years. Funnier still is how all these people changed their affiliation because of what they saw as a un-christian agenda being pushed by the Bush/Cheney team. So with that in mind it seems true that a lot of republicans are getting sick of the agenda being pushed right now.

I for one am not voting and could care less. I don't think either candidate will do better than the other over all. I would like to see a black president just because I know how much it will piss off all those racists out there. That alone might even make me go to the polls. Yet when you have two people who are mediocre your only hope can be a mediocre 4 years.

Anyone who doesn't think that a big factor in this race is "race" must be either blind, or ignorant of the present day race relations in this country.

It will be a miracle if Obama wins even though he is so popular that even McCain has compared him to a rock star......both races are still afraid of each other and there are more whites than blacks.

well silverfox Obama is right on one thing. the US is NOT a Christian nation anymore. The way that we are taking GOD out of almost everything because of the ACLU is bringing this country down. This country was founded upon Christian principles but slowly and surely we are turning from GOD and that is bad. The founding fathers I think will be appalled. With THAT being said, I dont trust Obama but i admire him because of his education and he is smart. He has ran a better campaign than Mitt Romney and to me He has achieved the American Dream. BUT he is liberal and I dont like liberals too much. Also on this thing about experience. I somehow recall from my readings (since I wasnt even born to remember) that John F. Kennedy was a guy without experience and he won the White House and since JFK was the first CATHOLIC to run for office, there was a majority Catholic vote that year and they all voted for him. it seems that birds of a feather flock together. So if the Blacks are voting for Obama because he is Black is no different than the Catholics voting for JFK simply because he is Catholic. but to vote for someone because he is either black or white or catholic is wrong. and to vote AGAINST someone because he is black, white or catholic is wrong also.

BUT OBAMA I JUST DON'T TRUST HIM HE DIDN'T WIN THE ILL. ELECT FAR. HE'S NOT BEEN UP FRONT AND HONEST.
YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THIS COUNTRY GETTING AWAY FROM GOD, AND WE NEED TO GET RID OF THE ACLU AND THE U.N.
BUT ALL SO REMEMBER KENNEDY GOT SHOT. I THINK YOU SHOULD FOR SOMEONE SOME EXPERIENCE AND JUDGEMENT OBAMA HAS DONE, ACCEPT HE'S A CHARISMATIC SPEAKER AND SMART. HE'S A SNAKE CHARMER
