Americans still have the greatest country in the world with freedoms most of the world just dreams of, However our leaders are shortsighted with oil prices going out of sight, I ask why there aren't national mandatory recycling programs for paper, glass and metals of all types. When I was young a nickel or a dime was given for every glass bottle returned it was voluntary but everyone did it there was money to be made and every grocery store would take them so it was made easy no recycling center in an out of the way place. and why isn't ethanol a national priority we export millions of tons or corn?. most newer cars run on E85 anyway it would significantly reduce our dependence on foreign oil.  We have 3 presidential hopefuls vying for the office of which none of them is worthy. Obama were not ready for a Muslim president taking his oath on the Koran in his country that has 57 states not experienced in politics along with Hillary Clinton she won't make it and McCain is the worst of the 3. We need new candidates a rally of some sort in Orlando to get peoples attention to get out the word were not happy and were not going to take this anymore. all our votes count but this election really sucks no one to vote for. We must speak out be heard or our election will be a scam with one of them winning and all of us the American people losing!  Get up stand up stand up for your rights.....before it's too late!  (Bob Marley)

Well, its a shame that people only come now to take interest in the politics that effect their lives every day.

The people spoke when Amnesty was comming around, and rocked Wash. back on its heels, because they were lead by the nose, and that time it was right.

Now everyone is upset with GOP for McCain, yet let the antics that killed Romney go without a word. Forced a Republican to speak to his mormon faith, yet Harry Reid has been in office since 77 as a mormon, and NOBODY called them on it!

Obama's assoc. with racist preachers, and sympathy towards antisemitism have been reported on in conservative forums for years, but nobody cared until ABC broke it.

If you aren't getting the correct information then its time to change your sources, and stop listening to those that don't have YOUR interest at heart!

At least we changed the Primary system this time! Thats a huge start, and no longer does Iowa and New Hampsire get catered to!

I agree with you that it should be easier to recycle materials. People are more likely to do so if its more convenient.

I disagree about the ethonal. You may not be aware of the problems they've been having with it lately. One of them is that the use of corn to make ethonal has been one of the reasons that the price of food has gone up, not just here, but internationaly.

While I agree that all 3 candidates (four now, if you count Bob Barr), are poor choices. In my view, though, Obama is the worst one. I never thought I'd say this, but here it goes.... Barack Obama is a bigger threat to our country than Hillary Clinton is. There, I've said it.

Hillary is a liar, and a cheater. She's ruthless, power mad, and just downright mean. We all know about this.

Now what do we know about Obama and his policies? Well, we know about his personal qualities, such as his fascination with Marxist and Communist writers and professors, that his choice of friends and associates (Wright and Bill Ayers) are questionable, his "people who cling to their guns and religion" comment, along with his wife's comments ("America in 2008 is a downright mean country", "For the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my country"), his horrible naiveness in thinking that we can solve all our problems just by talking to dictators without pre-conditions, etc. But what do we know about his policies? Pretty much next to nothing.

Hillary makes it clear what she wants to do (as horrible as it is). At least with Hillary, you know what your getting.

Have you read the blogs around here lately? I have to agree with America 2008 is mean. And unfornately this has been the first year of my 48 yr old life...that I dont like America any longer. Slowly all of our rights are being stripped from us, and nobody says a word about it. The people dont run this country at all...just look at the farces of the past 3 elections. This country needs to wake up, we been complacent for way to long.
It doesnt matter who wins the election..we are in a heap of doo doo thats gonna take a long time to clean up...if ever.

"Slowly all of our rights are being stripped from us, and nobody says a word about it."

Actually, lots of people say a word about it. The problem is, no one is listening. At least, not the ones who are in power.

I think after 911 and the patriot act etc we have less freedoms that we used to.
Indeed the western European countries all have as much freedom and privilidges as we do.
I dont believe we are any more "free-er" (If thats a word?) than our friends in the UK, or France or Germany, Norway, Denmark etc.
but it STILL is better here than in N Korea,China, Burma and places like that !

Apparently a large number of people don't vote according to issues and/or candidates......they vote for political parties. We now have at least two of them. Anymore than those two as choices will confuse a lot of people.
