Sen. Barack Obama has promised "change," and his campaign has already been hard at work changing one of the basic symbols of the nation - the Presidential Seal.

 

On Friday, the press was abuzz over the new seal, which was unveiled on Obama's podium when he spoke to a group of Democratic governors.

 

While the Obama seal does include the American bald eagle clutching arrows and an olive branch, the resemblance ends there.

 

The Latin phrase "E Pluribus Unum," which translates to "Out of many, one," now says "Vero Possumus." Press reports translate the Latin words as "Truly, we are able" - a rough translation of the Obama campaign slogan, "Yes we can."

 

The deletion of "E Pluribus Unum," long considered the de-facto motto of the United States, is not accidental for multiculturalists, who have long denigrated the concept that immigrants must strip away their old culture in favor of the "oneness" of American civilization. In the 1990s, such activists promoted the alternative concept of the nation's ethnic "mosaic" - rather than a single, overarching metaphor to describe American society. For example, Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan has pointedly criticized the "E Pluribus Unum" motto as not reflecting the nation's diversity.

 

Other Obama changes to the seal include the removal of the shield over the eagle's breast, representing the president's oath to defend the Constitution. The shield has been replaced with the letter "O" - presumably for Obama - and the image of a rising sun.

 

"This is too serious a contest about too serious of issues for a candidate to be playing make-believe on the trail," Brian Rogers, a spokesman for presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain, told The Los Angeles Times.

If you really think about it...it's always the same excuse with Obama, everything about him and the company he has kept! The man clearly is up to NO GOOD! He talks the talk but he will never walk any of those walks...it's only to get your vote for the position, THAT'S ALL!

And a little more truth comes out. Like Mater said, Keep it up only I will add "please". Let that two faced liar show his true colors. I only pray that the blind will finally see what this guy is trying to do and that is destroy this country. I hope he doesn't break his arm patting himself on the back.

LOL. People take this very seriously. If this is your major concern or your pushing point on why to elect McCain you are not trying very hard. We are going to need some intelligent discussions to change public opinion. These articles and post's just make Republicans seem like nut jobs.

If this is actually true, then he's becoming more and more of a fruit loop everyday. He needs to just end his fight for the white house now.
The guy thinks that ethanol is the way of the future!!!!!!!
I'm sure he's not having any issues putting food on his table or gas in his car.

Somthinsup, you brought up a good point about ethanol.......why won't George II roll back the ethanol mandates as McCain suggested?

Silverfox06, in case you haven't noticed, Obama is not the President yet and therefore would not be using a podium with the official presidential seal. Something similar would be the best that he could do to appear "presidential." It is just another part of the staging that presidential candidates use....like the positioning of flags, etc.

I have not seen any statements by him or his campaign that he wants to change the official presidential seal and your blog doesn't seem to cite one.

this guy is scary. i never trusted or believed anything he has said. whats even more scary is how many ignorant people are rallying around him. i dont know what this country is coming to, also what is hillary up to, last week she didnt agree with any of his agendas, this week she agrees with them all, i figure she wants the vp in the event he gets shot which may be a possibility, i wouldnt want to see that happen but wouldnt loose any sleep either

They are all pretty much the same, McCain, Obama, and Hillary, or all politicians for that matter. They will say and do whatever is necessary to get elected. Once again we will elect one that fits that description. The people who never vote or question their government are getting what they deserve at the expense of those citizens who have participated in our democracy.

Reading some of the books about some of the activities of our government for the past 50 years reminds one of books about criminal enterprises/organized crime.
