Many residents do not realize that most front doors can be easily kicked in, even those with a deadbolt, unless reinforcement of the door jam or frame is made. There are products available that have been made specifically for the purpose of door jam reinforcement. Consult with a hardware specialist for further recommendations.

You always give wise advice!

An investigating officer gave me advice once that I thought was wise, as he was reporting on the break in at my sister's home, he told me that anyone that comes to the door during the day looking for "Ruth" or "Brady" or some random name is just checking to see who was home and who wasn't. He also told me to pick up the phone and dial the non emergency number and they would gladly have someone come out and check this person out!

I make my own front screen storm doors. They open out and the main doors open inward. Well lets just say that they are build out of the same materials as my A/C Cages.lol We took one of my doors to the Hurrican Testing Center in Dade County and put them to the test. They passed 100% unlike anything you can buy in a store.

Just going a little off track here. Years ago, our phone books would have all none emergency numbers right in the inside cover of the phone book. Easy access. Now you have to look up the numbers. It's not too hard to look up, but I think the phone company should have left all those necessary numbers on the inside cover.

Now the cartoon image. They kick on AC's door, and the house falls down, door still standing. LOL
