WASHINGTON - John Edwards says he made a serious error in judgment when he had an affair and is ashamed of his conduct. In a statement, the former Democratic presidential candidate also said he informed his wife about his affair with 42-year-old Rielle Hunter in 2006 and has asked her forgiveness. Edwards said he is not the father of the woman's daughter and is willing to take a test to determine the 5-month-old baby's paternity. He said the affair lasted for a short time in 2006.Until Friday, Edwards had denied reports in the National Enquirer that he had an affair while his wife, Elizabeth, was battling cancer. He admitted to the affair in an interview with ABC News, then released a statement.

i know i should not be shocked..but i am. you wife had cancer  you ***!

now that i have your attention...

He shot his hunting partner, but Vice President DickCheney apparently doesn't fly fish with naked women.

Since Wednesday, the blogosphere has been atwitter over aphotograph on the White House Web site of Cheney with a caption thatsaid he was fly-fishing on the Snake River in Idaho.

The photo is a tight shot of Cheney's face sporting dark sunglasses and his trademark grin. What's stirring all the buzz is the reflection in the vice president's dark glasses.

Some thought that the reflection looked like a naked woman and, this being Cheney and this being the Internet Age, they immediately shared that thought with the world.

On DemocraticUnderground.com, the discussion starts with this question: "Notice anything ... interesting ... reflected in his sunglasses? Something that has little to do with conventional 'fly-fishing'?"

It wasn't just the blogosphere. On a Web site called sportsshooter.com, dedicated to sports photography, professionals also did a double take and debated the shot on their message board.

"Naked woman??????? That explains his heart problems!!!" noted photographer Jason Frizzelle of Greenville, N.C.

The vice president's office saw little humor in the buzz.

"Clearly the picture shows a hand casting a rod," grumbled spokesman Meagan Mitchell.

As journalists, however, the word of an official spokeswoman isn't good enough.

So McClatchy/Tribune Information Services photo editor George Bridges used the latest digital technology to enlarge the picture, took a close look at Cheney's sunglasses and concluded that Mitchell was telling the truth.

The image is of the vice president's hand on his fly rod.

"In one lens of his sunglasses you can clearly tell it is a sleeved arm of Cheney or a fishing companion,'' Bridges said. "The other lens has an extreme distortion that, without looking at it closely, could be misconstrued."

look at the picture and let me know what you think. naked woman or not?

the new york governor, eliot spitzer, resigns because of a call to a prostitute. okay, so most would not be shocked about a politician and a sex scandal. but can we talk about the women.

his wife stood right next to him..poised and calm. it's not as bad as the all smiles from the former new jersey govenor's wife.

but i want to know who these women are. i could never(even if i was the first lady of the state) stand beside him after he embarrassed me infront of the whole country!

i will tell you, i would give those reporters the best news conference they have ever seen..beating my husband upside his head while he was talking!

ugh..it makes me crazy watching these women!

what do you all think, am i missing something???

okay if you saw mrs. clinton talking and almost crying before the new hampshire primary, i wonder what you think? i will leave my opnions out of it....but it's bugging me.  she gets a lot of respect for being a tough broad and then she is in tears? i am all for candidates showing emotion, but i know many are discusted with her crying! It really has some people asking if she is tough enough to be president. Whichever side your on, let me take a line from tom hanks, "there is no crying in politics!"

charles nelson will not be spending time in jail. he is instead will have 2 years probation and some community service.

some really thought this was a fair sentence..others thought there should have been more of a lesson taught for disrespecting a law enforcement officer.

what do you think? did the punishment fit the crime?
