I don't know much about shoes, but for your car assuming I think you mean it's just from the extra moisture and not the flooding. First thing run your heater on the highest window defrost setting for a while. If that doesn't work check your manual to see if you have the cabin filter and find some of that chemical you pour down the outside fresh air intake. I use windex cause I don't have leather or anything fancy. I run the car for a bit and pour a bit down with the car running at night when it can sit for a while. After that if it still smells a carpet cleaner with the upholstery end. Do not spray or dampen the headliner with anything. If it still smells after all that let us know..

Hey there..Please be careful what advice you take from people on getting rid of odors. The best, non-harmful item that you can use to remove the odor of mildew/mold on soured garments is baking soda. Just add to your laundry and your wash as normal..will remove the odor with no damage to your garments.
As far as an autombile goes...get a spray bottle and 3 fresh lemons. Squeeze the fresh lemon juice and put into the spray bottle, add maybe a little water.WHen all fails to remove odors of any kind..lamon juice is the key. Also, non-harmful. I know alot of people use peroxide to remove odors, but you never know if it will ruin items or have affects on your health.
