Property taxes are likely to rise in the city of orlando..so what a campaign flyer sent out by orlando mayor buddy dyer when he ran for election in 2003. It says in big green letters. Dyer's pledge-no increase in property taxes. Did he go back on his promise? or was that 6 years ago? a case of that was then and this is now.

In 2002 before dyer took office..the property tax rate was $ 5.69 per $1000 dollars, in 2008 it was $4.93. If they milage rate is approved at the proposed 21 percent increase. The property tax rate will be $5.97.

There are no technicalities to this as said on this mornings news, bottom line is no increase means NO INCREASE!DYER NEEDS TO GO!Here is a radical concept for ya M.R.BUDDY,look at the cities budget like you would your own personal budget, first off trim the fat, downtown ambassadors,See ya,multi millions on citrus bowl and performing arts center, not now we dont have the cash, cutting those two venues alone would put your budget back in the black, how can you go ahead with these projects when you are going to cut law enforcement and emergency responders that will be needed to properly maintain the gatherings that will come to these venues, thats like living in a single wide house trailer with a HUMMER parked in the drive way it makes no sense! Here's another radical concept, you might get me on board with you if you would say, take a pay cut yourself, you know take one for the team M.R.Buddy!Bottom line is elected officials DO NOT LIKE being told what to do by the people that put them in power, they kiss your tookis until they get in office and then it's screw you commonfolk i'm in office now i'll do as i please,i know better than you!WE blatently told you if you vote for lower property taxes we would punish you all by taking away emergency services instead of curbing our reckless and wasteful spending, one more radical concept, get rid of all the new hybrids you bought to join the new go green religion, city employees can drive their own vehicles to work climb in their city vehicle and get busy that would save countless gallons of gas and millions of miles of wear and tear a year! Now
