so here i am looking forward to a little savings on my property taxes to find out now the city is going to raise my taxes..by 10 bucks a month.

one of the commissioners said "it's only 2 lattes a month"  i know but that really isn't the point is it???

what is going on...is there nowhere where we can save money anymore??

Nothing is free. As soon as they cut property taxes where I am, they introduced a new firefighters tax which we never had before. I'm sure by the time the police and others start taxing their share we'll be paying more than before they cut property taxes.

In Winter Springs we're getting hit for over $100/year in an extra tax to pay for our fire department.

Meanwhile, the city just paid a zillion dollars to redo perfectly good intersections in brickwork.

Priorities, huh?

absolutely, eric. 2 lattes a month? please. Not everyone splurges on such luxuries.
Look at thewizard's example. What's that all about? A perfectly good intersection? Let me guess, the same moron that commented on the lattes gets a raise.

Are you enjoying Amendment One yet?? The administraion's salaries won't be cut, give up that tired, lame line. If you want services, your going to pay, bottom line. Funny how human nature works, "cut my taxes, but, ohhhhh nooooo, don't take anything away from me". Can't have it both ways. And all this because the ignorant voters couldn't think past their pathetic wallets and consider the consequences that would surely follow. Hopefully, those who voted for Amendment One will be hit the hardest. Then maybe, just maybe, they won't sell their souls yet again for some BS tax "break" rhetoric. Pitiful individuals...

Your the one thats pitiful here as you fail to see that the city is claiming inflated costs. So in one year all the costs the city had doubled? Really? Audit the city books.
