People are concerned about their economic welfare and are feeling betrayed by our government  and business leaders!

Many are suggesting that we are taking a big step toward socialism in our bail-out of huge corporations that are failing

Others have suggested that similar to the Soviet Union, we have allowed spending to get out of control and the cost of two wars in the Middle East has brought us to the tipping point.

But is there more that has led us to this point of an economic disaster that rivals the great depression?

Although the possibility is rarely discussed,  has our government been too involved  in the business of Empire Building during the past eight years?  Have such phrases as "moving toward a global economy" been used to cover empire building activities abroad?

Have our leaders been so intent on controlling  governments abroad that they have neglected our own country to the point of disaster?

Who could do such a thing to their own country?

There have been rumors and pictures for quite some time that indicate that Bush is having some personal problems. As everyone knows, he was a recovering alcoholic and being president is a pretty stressful job.

It is incredible when you stop to think that he had paid very little attention to the recommendations of experts in the various disciplines......the financial decisions and reluctance to act early is yet another example of a president who doesn't seem to be completely "on the job."

I am convinced that he will go down as the worst president in the history of our nation. I would hate to be his father having to watch his performance.

you three should be named MOE, LARRY and Curly.

You failed to mention that illegals cost the nation far more than the war. And, I bet all 3 of you had those little american flags flying from your car windows immediately after 9/11....a fad...sort of like Obama.

GW Bush spent far too much money, most will agree, however, he kept this country safe from further attacks. Now, your "God," Obama is goiing to try and "negotiate," with terrorists, ...in fact, he'll probably have them as guests, thinking he can talk to them....
You 3 need to look out for yourselves and family....

VOTE MCCAIN

TM6068, as usual you are comparing apples and oranges, but you obviously haven't done your homework regarding the comparisons. The estimated cost of the welfare, etc. to illegal immigrants is $11-22 billion each year. Thus far the Iraq War has cost $500 to $700 Billion. Quite a difference I would say.

And now the Administration wants at least $750 billion to clean up the financial mess that they have created and/or allowed to happen. Estimates suggest that the real cost will be closer to $1.5 trillion since the administration always seems to underestimate the cost of their programs.

Do your homework and quit trying to change the subject away from the mess that our government has created.

You would obviously vote for a hog with lipstick if the Republicans put one on the ticket.
