It was widely reported yesterday that John McCain was in his limo on the way to the interview at least for the first half hour of Obama's interview.

This was admitted by interviewer  Rick Warren who had indicated that McCain was isolated in a "cone of silence" during the ENTIRE interview so that he would not have prior knowledge of the questions or Obama's answers.

Of course limos generally have both TVs and radios, which would have allowed McCain to tune in to the interviews and be unfairly prepared to provide the best possible answers......a definite unfair advantage although McCain denies having done so.

McCain's excellent performance and response to the questions surprised even his strongest supporters.  It sounded more like a speech to the audience and the answers from McCain were uncharacteristically quick.

So the question is what should be done about it?  Even the story itself is being buried by some news agencies, and what we see from McCain's people are denials.  Meanwhile Obama's campaign has reacted politely giving the benefit of the doubt to McCain.

Who should be held accountable for this blunder and misleading of the public/viewers....Rick Warren or John McCain?

Whos accountable? Lets start with YOU! You failed to add that the moderator gave BOTH players the scope of the questions. You FAILED to inform them that Obama actually outside of that scope was asked an extra question that had no pre-warning at all, and there was no way McCain would have had knowlege of that question at the end.

It was "widely reported" that a liberal hack reporter started this insinuation out of her frustration of Obama getting spanked!

The idea that McCain who has spent decades answering many of those questions and operates from a CORE, answers questions like "When do you feel life begins" immediately, and Obama's attempt to skirt the question insulted the intelligence of everyone! Obama was exposed for trying to "manage" an answer instead of speaking from his own convictions. Literally another Clinton style "definition of is" kind of guy!

Everything that Abunai said is 100% true..Andrea Mitchel made this an Issue and SHE’S getting Spanked for it..

But let me tell you something..
Right NOW there’s Only ONE candidate to whom there’s a 100% certainty that he cheated and THAT’S the one who ADMITTED to it during the Interview..
OBAMA!!

On TOP of that,,

Coming STRAIGHT from Rick Warren himself, Obama was given a question ahead of time when McCain was NOT.. A clear advantage for Obama and he still got his butt whoooooped,,, BADLY.
Both in CONDUCT and in the SUBSTANCE of his answers..

It's just ANOTHER case where the Republican OUTCLASSED the Democrat and THAT is something that's just NOT supposed to happen...EVER..

You guys LOST..Your guy cameup WAY short..RAN out of Gas.....PERIOD..Get Over it...It's gonna happen again and again..

You're JUST mad 'cause you Liberals can't take THIS one to the Supreme Court and have it overturned..

ROFLMAO....

Just ONE more thing..

There’s a REASON for “ McCain's excellent performance and response to the questions “ and it’s NO Mystery that Liberals and Democrats CAN’T fathom it..

McCain answered the questions TRUTHFULLY while Obama had to SEARCH for what HE thought was the BEST answer..

Truth is evident..It rolls off the tounge easilly..If one believes in what one is saying one can look you STRAIGHT in the EYE and Speak WITHOUT measuring the consequences of getting caught in a LIE.. TRUTH is Confortable..It is RELAXED…There’s No NEED for shifting eyes and Hesitant Mumblings..

LOL….Whadaya Know..I just described the differences between the candidates’ BODY language too..

I am NOT a big Fan of McCain but I DO believe that he is HONEST,,or as Honest as any politician CAN be..

Obama ,,on the other hand,, has been caught in so many LIES that HE has EARNED the UNDISBUTED title of,,,,,,,

The FIRST Black Clinton….

Obviously the left is desperate to find something or someone other than Obama himself to blame his embarrassing showing on.

Its so apparent that Obama is scared to death to actually state his true thoughts on issues in America. Its not so much hes good a prepared speaches, but that he simply can't hide his real liberal/socialist/marxist ways when forced to engage in a dialog.

Likely it will be a long time before he or the media go public like this again. Obama is going to have to, but he just found out that McCain is NOT a pushover.

Took the words right off my keyboard,, AB..

THIS is why Obama REFUSES to Debate McCain..

I'll tell you something ELSE that became apparent in that debate and it SHOULD be NOTED by McCain..

McCain came across as Honest because his answers reflected TRADITIONAL Conservative Values..

( with the Possible exception of his "we don't devote ourselves to greater things then ourselves"..)..

It was ALSO undeniable proof that when Liberals try to compete in the Arena of Ideas,,They ALWAYS Lose..

Hawkeye!
It wasn't a scored contest!
It was suppose to be a conversation setting and McCain wouldn't shut up long enough to hear the questions. He was sounding like a salesaman.
There are other in the world going on than George Petrais and the wars.
I do understand the wars are important and don't get me wrong, but as the mother of two soldiers, I am wanting to hear about more than how we are going to fight more and attack anyone that doesn't agree with the U.S.
Our country is falling apart and we as Americans have to get it back together here.

It isn't about who won or lost a conversation (not a debate) it is about, getting together and getting our country back to where it can be, even when we leave Iraq!

Oh and by the way, I still don't know who I am voting for as I am an Indpendent but all this bickering about McCain and Obama does not help us that are not a straight ticket.
Maybe we could get a better idea of who our candidates are in a good way if you all would say something positive about both of them.

It was a contest of Character.

Now,,YOU have EVERY right to your opinion but as evidenced by the subject of this Post and in recognition of the DESPARATION of the Left that PROMPTED it,,,,You have to realize that Obama came off SECOND in a two Horse Race...

BathBuddys: Lets entertain the fact that you believe America is falling apart then: My take... America spent the 90s bending over backwards illustrating it was unwilling to stand up and defend herself! We had anti-war passivist, who took their personal convictions and destroyed our defense system. That weakness was recognized by every enemy we had, and exploited!

It took another man to come in and clean up the mess of inaction and passiveness that was taken as weakness and opportunity to exploit.

Its time for America to stand up and continue sending the message that we will NOT fear those who seek to do us harm!

Now.... the event Sat. evening was a debate. It was executed in a blind fashion, but it served the SAME purpose! America got a chance to see these two men in their true colors. It was a contest, McCain took the ball and ran with it!

As a Mother of two in the service, the answer is NOT to come home, and wait again until we have no choice! (Obama's position) Instead, we STAY VIGILANT! I appreciate your concern for your children, but I'm sick and tired of everyone else having to go through the pain of loss and sacrifice and then abandon the very cause that they paid for, only to have someone else have to come in and pay for the SAME THING all over again!!

Its not about continued risk, its about managing the price of freedom. We will as we always have, pay for our freedom. Defending this country never stops, and those that think it does are doing us a disservice.

I'll just bet Obama was doin some squirming and fidgeting and his brain was screaming for an exit to this punishment. No teleprompter or ear bud fully exposes this empty shell of a suit that he really is. Too bad the dems didn't put up somebody of GOOD charicture instead of those two loosers. The only reason Obama won out is because his lies were more believable than HRCs.

Actually, Michell's report was corroborated by a New York Times article written by Katharine Q. Seelye, "Despite Assurances, McCain Wasn't in a Cone of Silence."

McCain spokesperson Nicole Wallace is often cited as a source who confirmed that McCain was in his motorcade on the way to the debate at the time that Obama was being interviewed.

Of course McCain's campaign manager Steve Capus has loudly denied the reports and even wrote a letter to the President of NBC News requesting a meeting. I wouldn't expect any less from any campaign manager.

However, as I stated, even McCain's most adamant supporters were surprised by his fantastic showing during the interview.......hard to explain. Concise answers that were almost totally directed at the audience with the use of phrases like "my friends...." obviously demonstrating intentions for communicating with more than the single person of Rick Warren, the interviewer. Indeed it sounded like a well rehearsed speech....and one of McCain's better ones.

BTW, as I understand the scope of the questions that were made known prior to the interviews included approximately three questions, one dealing with the greatest personal failure of each of the candidates.

Anyone interested might also listen to the interview of Rick Warren by Rick Sanchez of CNN. During that interview he admits that McCain wasn't in the "cone of silence" as he had said and also admits that both candidates weren't present for the coin toss to see who would go first.

Hear and see it for yourself on YouTube to erase any doubt that you may have about the accuracy of Mitchell's report. It's hard to spin what you can hear and see someone say.

Whether he was actually in the "Cone of Silence" is BESIDE the Point..As much so as IS the mention of Clinton..

The POINT is whether or not McCain CHEATED or not..

We KNOW that you SAID,,"even McCain's most adamant supporters were surprised by his fantastic showing during the interview"

What we DON'T know is whether or not That's the TRUTH..
In ANY case,,THAT'S not the point either...

But HERE is the point,,LIBERALS cannot escape the Propaganda that they feed to others..NOBODY falls prey to theirLIES then THEY do..

They SKEW the Polls THEN believe their OWN Lies THEN holler that an election that proves them wrong HAD to be STOLEN..

They CLAIM that ALL Americans think like THEY do so THEN when They LOSE debates they Holler that someone HAD to CHEAT..

They have for SO long protrayed the Republicans as Neo-Nazis,,Backwoods Knuckledraggers.. IGNORANT,, Uneducated Regressive Neanderthals who Beat their Wives and Rape their Daughters… Sexist Homophobic Racist Warmongering Bigots who would STARVE America’s OWN Children and Elderly in order to Benefit the CEOs of EXXON and Microsoft.... “ that THEY have come to believe their OWN Hype..

So THEN when the UNTHINKABLE happens such as the emergence of a Republican that doesn’t FIT their STEREOTYPE and in SO DOING exposes the ineptness and incompetence of their Chosen One,,They simply CANNOT accept it..They HAVE to FABRICATE a Reason…

You go ahead and believe what you want but I PROMISE you that the Greatest indication of YOU being wrong will come in the form of Obama REFUSING to EVER participate in anything l

YOU want to act like as if these questions were something new..There wasn’t ONE question that had NOT been asked a MULTITUDE of times and at least ONE of them went back as far as Roe vrs. Wade..
There was nothing new here..NO reason for ANYONE to be STUMPED..They involved Issues that have been debated ad nauseum..

ROF! Well yea... there is very good reason to add perspective to the topic, and the Clinton examples are just the cherry on top!!

Sort of like you liberals that have people thinking that Bush is running again! When you say McCain would be Bush's 3rd term, that is EXACTLY what we get with Obama or Hillary! A Clinton 3rd term!

But ya know.. besides all the hubbub about Obama, we still have plenty of time to expose Harry Reid, Pelosi, and the Democrats on Capital Hill that have the worst approval in recorded history!! Pelosi now trying to put out the fire on an energy crisis that happened on HER watch!

Shadows - let's be realistic. It really doesn't matter whether or not he was in any sort of cone....the bottom line is, Obama cannot think quickly on his feet, and in addition, he has absolutely no skill to interact on an intelligent level; especially to a crowd without a teleprompter loaded with a speech written by someone else. Heck, he was stumped not long ago by a 7 yr old...and that's who we need for a president?

Why is it that when a FULL BLOWN Liberal takes the SAME side ALL the time,, is AGAINST the SAME side ALL the time,, all the way to the point where THEY feel the NEED to try to convince everybody else that THEY aren’t Liberals THAT’S OKAY??

THAT’S just FINE..
But when a Conservative who ADMITS he’s a conservative and THEN sticks by what he believes in has the cajones to SAY so THAT’S Partisanship and THAT becomes a dirty word???

WHO Died and put THEM in Charge???

Oh thats easy! The founding fathers died, and then libs declared the Constitution a "living document!"

Thats how they can go around and claim Republicans are "cheating" meanwhile they can't get past the fact that superdelegates are about to steal the nomination from Hillary with a popular vote! I guess its only stealing if Republicans do it in Florida... LOL! (well.. until you pull out the Constitution ...)

TM6068, you folks are so right about the quickness of Obama's thinking compared to McCain's. An excellent example of the mental acuity that McCain has can be found in the question that he was asked about Viagra.......what was it......about eight seconds that he went through all of those gyrations? I guess that he hadn't rehearsed his answer enough. LOL

BTW, these things that I have mentioned, including the interview of Warren by Rick Sanchez are available for all to watch and listen to. That way I am able to report the facts so that you can decide.

I think that we are reaching a high point in this thread since Abunai and Hawkeye have brought up Roe v. Wade, Pelosi, Harry Reed and the "Democrats on Capital Hill." Isn't there a "Hill" by that name somewhere? You guys are great!!!!

Hawkeye, now you bring up Anita Hill? Is that because she is black too? Or is it because you were unable to refute the facts that I presented in my original post?....The old "best defense is a good offense" tactic.

If it is the latter, it is unnecessary. I personally don't have a problem with McCain possibly rehearsing his answers ahead of time, or the fact that Rick Warren made a point of referring to the "cone of silence" that McCain was supposed to be in during Obama's interview.

But of course the public has a right to know and the question becomes who should be held accountable for the blunder...Rick Warren or John McCain?

Did you happen to also notice that when Warren made reference to the "cone of silence" when McCain went on the stage, McCain made no mention of the fact that he had not been in the "cone of silence" for the entire duration of Obama's interview as suggested?

I report......you decide. Don't you just love the modern media?

shadows, shadows, shadows - you poor, liberal lackwit

1. There is no such things as a 'cone of silence.' It's a joke term from 'Get Smart.'

2. McCain had no opportunity to cheat. He was surrounded by people the entire time - none of whom would have kept his secret.

Your boy Obama, without a teleprompter, can't put three words together unless two of them are 'uh'. This is why he refuses to debate McCain.

This isn't a smart guy - he appeals to the less-well-mentally-endowed. When he finally HAS to debate McCain, you'd better have your 'McCain has an ear wig' argument ready, because it's going to be BLOODY.

And by the way - his most heart wrenching moment was voting against the war? You realize that he NEVER voted against the war, right? He wasn't in the Senate then?

And he DID vote to FUND the war, and more than once.

Now back to the question, who should be held accountable for the blunder, John McCain or Rick Warren? Personally I hate to blame a man of the cloth....even though he knew that McCain wasn't around for the coin toss.

I caught Sean Hannity's interview with Rick Warren on the way home from work yesterday. Pastor Warren did address the rumors that McCain was listening in on Obama's interview. He claimed that it was impossible, as McCain had both Secret Service and Saddleback staff around him at all times during the first segment, so there was no way that he could have "cheated" and listened in.

When did Pastor Warren claim that McCain was in his limo during the first half hour of Obama's interview? This is the first I've heard of it.

thewizard, in case you didn't notice, Rick Warren used the phrase "cone of silence" to apparently suggest that McCain had been isolated in order not to hear Obama's interview. Since then many other people have repeated the phrase when reporting on the incident.

As far as McCain cheating I am a bit surprised that you would defend such an action on his part since I did not even use the word cheat. As a matter of fact, I included the fact that McCain's people denied that he had "gained an unfair advantage."

I just saw McCain on FoxNews at an oil rig site where he had a very brief few words to impart. It was interesting because he had to pull out of his pocket a very small piece of paper and read it. One of the phrases that he used was something to the effect of "drill now!"

But getting back to the original question, who should be held accountable for the blunder, John McCain or Rick Warren? I am certain that many of those who have been unable to answer the question would appreciate your opinion/answer. Fortunately McCain didn't have nearly as much difficulty answering questions during his interview.
