A 5th grade kid in a Colorado school was suspended for wearing a homemade anti Obama shirt.  The school had said to wear red, white and blue to show patriotism.  The kid was told to either change his shirt, wear it in side out or be suspended.  He choose suspension.  Luckily his parents are standing behind him on this.

I've seen a blog on the subject with some liberal touting that since the kid is not old enough to vote, it is not a problem.  I beg to differ since I've grown up knowing that I am a conservative.  I remember being in the 4th grade and knowing why I wanted Regan to win.  Not just that I wanted Regan to win, but I knew the issues.  My kids know they are conservative and why.  I'd bet this kid does too.

I blog on this subject because it has been a heated discussion around our house for the last week or so.  My son has been asked to support "global warming" in an essay and of course we'd rather he just debunk the junk.  We've gone back and forth between having him write a paper debunking and criticizing it or having him do the liberally biased paper.  We have decided to have him to the liberal paper and then at the end of it put one extra paragraph plainly stating that those are not his beliefs and that he is very offended at having to support fiction.  The kids at another school are having the same problem.  They were asked to write a report critical of Sara Palin.  The five Republicans in the room stood up and told the teacher if he'd like to debate the issue, they'd be more then willing.  To which the teacher said "F@#$ You".  They have filed complaints on his treatment of them and there is an investigation being conducted.  Being that it is a college (liberal hot bed) I'm sure that nothing will happen.  I do admire the student's bravery in taking on the subject.

Our recent financial crisis is actually looked upon as a good thing if you are a Democrat.

On Monday's "Anderson Cooper 360," after CNN senior political analyst David Gergen said "what happened over the weekend with the economy and the bottom falling out of the financial markets...is the opportunity for Obama to seize the momentum back on his side," Crowley actually said, "[J]ust as foreclosures were showing up on B-17, or in the real estate section, along comes this horrific headline out of Wall Street...I mean, this is what they wanted."

Interview questions for Obama then for Palin.

First, Obama:

How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?

Now Palin:

Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

So when is Obama going to answer the "Palin" set of questions.  After all, he is going for the presidency, she is only going for the Vice Presidency.

ABC played only the parts of the Palin interview they wanted to play.   The parts that made her look bad.

"The double-standard Gibson applied to Palin, compared with the uncritical media platforms repeatedly offered to Obama, who has had zero executive experience running anything, was especially striking. ABC and Gibson focused on Palin as if she were running right now for the presidency rather than the vice presidency. He and other media pundits, by contrast, have never asked the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, if he has ever had to make a decision on anything.

Gibson’s aggressive approach appeared to take Palin by surprise: He was clearly attempting to put her on point by presenting her as having extreme religious views. This again, however, appears to be a double-standard, as Palin grew up in the Assemblies of God, one of the largest Christian denominations in America with 16 million members, and is now a member of the Wasilla Bible Church. Even now, Obama has yet to receive any comparable grilling on his 20-year attendance in the congregation of the notoriously racist Rev. Jeremiah Wright."

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said to an outbreak of laughter, shouts and raucous applause from his audience, clearly drawing a connection to Palin's joke. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years." - Barak Obama

Wow, If one of us had said something even close, it would be a major media event.  Calling Palin a pig with the lipstick thing was bad enough.  Calling Senator McCain "paper" was really showing that double standard.  I wouldn't have known this but "paper" is what the non-white kids around here use as a racial slur towards white kids.  The only reason I do know this is because my neighbor was telling me that is one of the slurs that were being hurled at his son.  After this I really hope more people realize what a jerk he is and deicide to stear clear of him come election time.

I keep reading this incredibly stupid line "McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time".  I think the author may be just a tad bit confused.  Senator McCain is a senator, and thus has a vote in the senate.  President Bush is a president and thus does not have a vote in the senate.  They are in two different branches of government.

Also, let's delve a little further around 50% of the legislation that is voted on in the senate is unanimous.

His words, not mine.  While poking through the news today, it has come to my attention that during an interview Senator Barak Obama said the phrase "my muslim faith".  OOPS, I guess the cat is out of the bag now.  They say that once a muslim always a muslim.  We know he was registered as a muslim when he was in school.  I guess some things never change.

I keep hearing some pretty strange comparisons as of late.  It seems that we are comparing apples to oranges in our election coverage.  I keep seeing compare and contrast articles that are Obama vs Palin or McCain vs Biden.  The jobs of President and Vice President are two different positions with different prerequisites required.  Why are Palin and Obama being compared and contrasted?  They are running for different offices.  Why aren't we comparing and contrasting McCain to Obama and Palin to Biden?

The true test will be October 2, 2008 when Palin and Biden have there debate.  I can't wait to tune in and watch.  Unfortunatley, it will make me stay up past my bedtime again!  UGH!

Oprah has decided against having Sarah Palin on her show for an interview.   I hope her ratings totally tank due to it.  On the other hand, people who actually watch shows like that and "The View" are usually not conservatives and are generally totally for crib to crypt government.  Most probably don't even know when the election is, let alone any real issues on the table.

The big announcement day is almost here for McCain's VP pick.  I've heard a rumor of Kay Bailey Hutchinson.  I think that would be a good pick for him.  She's a lot more of a solid conservative then he is, so it will help with getting the base to turn out if he picks her.  Anyone else hear it might be anyone else?

I found this on the internet this morning and had a good laugh.  I though I'd pass it on.  It's kinda like "You might be a redneck if..." by Jeff Foxworhty, but instead it's about why people aren't voting for Obama.

I just cut and pasted from Source.  The only thing I changed was the font size.  My eyeballs just don't work with that teeny-tiny print.

25 Hints You're Not Voting for Obama   [Peter Kirsanow]

Today's Rasmussen daily tracking poll has 80% of Democrats supporting Obama and 87% of Republicans supporting McCain. There are still a healthy number of undecideds. This conflicts with the stream of media reports that Obamacons, evangelicals, black conservatives and independents are flocking to Obama.

If you're an independent, moderate or conservative on the fence about whether to vote for McCain or Obama, here's a helpful guide:

It's unlikely you'll vote for Obama if you....
1. aren't a news anchor.
2. read the New York Times for pretty much the same reason the NSA monitors radio transmissions.
3. automatically conclude that the person laughing in the car next to you must be listening to Rush. Or maybe Obama off teleprompter.
4. dislocated your shoulder trying to explain Obama's position on Iraq to co-workers.
5. find autobiographies generally more interesting when the author has, you know, done something.
6. remember the Carter Administration.
7. would give a month's pay to play Jack Bauer's partner on 24.
8. increasingly agree with Mark Steyn that "almost everything [Obama] says is, well, nuts."
9. think it's relevant — despite what the sophisticates say — that several of Obama's mentors and associates have displayed a dislike for America or a disdain for Americans.
10. think it's relevant that several of McCain's mentors and associates are American heroes of historic magnitude.
11. think about 9/11 more than once a year.
12. have concluded that Larry the Cable Guy makes way more sense than Howard Dean.
13. feel a little safer during turbulence when your pilot is a calm "white haired dude."
14. thought about Hillary's 3:00 a.m. phone call ad when you first heard about Russian tanks in Georgia.
15. wonder why Obama felt it necessary to give a speech on patriotism.
16. get sorta creeped out by 200,000 Germans chanting "Obama! Obama!"
17. think the jury may still be out on Harvard Law School.
18. suspect "merci beaucoup" is French for "empty suit."
19. doubt that teleprompters are really magical dispensers of good ideas.
20. know in your gut that defiantly withstanding 4 1/2 years of torture trumps all of Obama's qualifications and accomplishments combined — regardless of what the elite pundits say.
21. repeatedly find yourself asking "Change to what?"
22. have ever used the term "pompous twit' in the same sentence with "Marx," "Marcuse," or "Sartre." 23. don't like being told what to do — especially by someone who hasn't done it.
24. really like ticking off the media, Hollywood, academics, and PC busybodies everywhere.
25. weren't born yesterday.

Score (# of descriptions that apply to you):
0— Go ahead, write in Dennis Kucinich
1—3 Obama may be your choice after all
4—5 You think Hillary got a raw deal and won't vote Obama
6—24 McCain's your man
25 It's OK to write in Reagan

The Barak Obama birth certificate thing seems to be getting more and more interesting as we go along.  Anyone have any additional incite on the issue?  Was he born in Kenya or Hawaii?  Did he use his half sister's birth certificate to create a fake for himself?

Supposedly, it is supposed to be a satire.
It looks incredibly accurate to me.
