The big announcement day is almost here for McCain's VP pick.  I've heard a rumor of Kay Bailey Hutchinson.  I think that would be a good pick for him.  She's a lot more of a solid conservative then he is, so it will help with getting the base to turn out if he picks her.  Anyone else hear it might be anyone else?

Sean Hennity keeps after Mitt Romney for an answer as to wheter he's be asked or not. Romney has stated he wouldn't decline if asked. He was on McCain's short list and nothing suggests he's been dropped to date.

I have a feeling it will be Mr. Mitt. He was the only republican I could listen to. Seriously, his voice is a lot better then McCains. I may not like what hes saying, but at least he doesn't have a bad monotone like Sen. McCain.

I saw a rumor of Sarah Palin. I like her. She is a solid Conservative with a good head on her shoulders. I think that pick would help McCain draw the (idiot) female vote away from Obama. The rest of us (intelligent) females are not voting for Obama anyway.

Sarah Palin - a thoughtful and exciting choice. She is a woman that a man can love too - NOT a member of The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants.
A person that deserves very serious consideration ....
I've considered and I'm in!

I find it a little unnerving that Palin would be next in line for the Presidency IF McCain won and died in office.

Her experience is being mayor of a 9,000 resident town - and Governor of Alaska for less than 2 years.

What would make anyone think that qualifies her to run a country?!?!

By the way, I am a registered Republican who is NOW voting for Obama.

Oh so you think someone who hasn't been a senator any longer is?

How pathetic.....you go ahead and vote for the loser; if he wins you will have regrets.

Hutchinson would have been a good choice. Palin has baggage that will be exploited. Not a very sharp move for McCain....he is looking older and less competent with each move. Dan Quail was a better choice than Palin.

McCains choice was a suprise to me. She has a reputation as being more conservative than McCain, would not accept pork-barrel earmarks for Alaska, goes against the Republican Party when the party line is WRONG, and as made some personal life decisions that show REAL character to name a few. Obviously she is a woman running for high office and has MORE time serving the people in elected office than the Presidential canidate of the other less desireable and dubious party. It has already been mentioned by some of the Obama stooges that she has no diplomatic experience, Obama doesn't either so that must not really matter then. LMAOROF This looks like CHANGE to me.

Yea! He picked Sarah Palin! She has been one of the ones I've only dared to dream he could pick. I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain, now I am going to vote for the McCain / Palin ticket with a smile on my face.

I've researched Sarah Palin and haven't found any baggage. What are you referring to, Shadows?

kc7brown, we all know your full of poopie. Tons of Dems are running around saying the same thing. I'd bet that's all you are.

Republicans...you all were losing anyway. McCain's VP pick just put the cap on the bottle. Dems are sure to hold the White House for about 24 years.

I dont think any party holding office for 24 years is a good thing !- even 12 years is not too good.

Funny how he chooses Palin after going after Obama saying he has no experience :-)
however what a brilliant political move a woman - and sure to get Hillarys people voting for her.

we done repubs !

Khazzi...and you other libs...I guess you only read the polls tainted by the dems....Obama's big party, combined with selecting that idiot Biden...amounted to zero lead or gain...in fact, all the "magic," the DNC is trying to create was stifled the minute McCain selected his VP. Obama will go to his grave as an old man still trying to win over the working class.

Rexsmom, Shadows always make inferences in his posts; usually badmouthing republicans...I think he's an "X-Files," character knee-deep in conspiracy theories. You're right, the woman's got no baggage, and she's not afraid to kick assses

You can't be a successful politician (at this level) and not have skeletons. The parties would not put up a candidate they can not control!
