I found this to be interesting and this also shows how much more likely the republicans will say anything to get elected. I know there will be some that refuse to see this as true, honest, or beliveable, but I have to break their hearts saying that it is. The McCain't camp is making up attacks. Attacks that they even think are true. Sorry to burst their little bubble, but they are not true rumors or attacks. Most smart Americans will see these are just rumors. I'm surprised how many lies have come out of the McCain't Camp. Isn't a lie what caused McCain to lose the 2000 republican't nomination to Bush? I guess saying Obama has fathered two black children is true, but I don't think that will work for Karl Rove lies this time!

Ben Smith Mon Sep 22, 4:58 PM ET

Sen. John McCain’s top campaign aides convened a conference call today to complain of being called “liars.” They pressed the media to scrutinize specific elements of Sen. Barack Obama’s record.

But the call was so rife with simple, often inexplicable misstatements of fact that it may have had the opposite effect: to deepen the perception, dangerous to McCain, that he and his aides have little regard for factual accuracy.

The errors in McCain strategist Steve Schmidt’s charges against Obama and Sen. Joe Biden were particularly notable because they seemed unnecessary. Schmidt repeatedly gilded the lily: He exaggerated the Biden family's already problematic ties to the credit card industry; Obama’s embarrassing relationship with a 1960s radical; and an Obama supporter’s over-the-top attack on Sarah Palin when — in each case — the truth would have been damaging enough.

“Any time the Obama campaign is criticized at any level, the critics are immediately derided as liars,” Schmidt told reporters.

But as he went on to list a series of stories he thought reporters should be writing about Obama and Biden, in almost every instance he got the details wrong.

Schmidt criticized the press for the relatively sparse coverage of the fact that one of Biden’s sons, Hunter, is a registered federal lobbyist.

“His son is a lobbyist for the credit card and banking industry,” Schmidt said.

But Hunter Biden’s lobbying clients don’t include any banks or credit card companies. He did work, as a vice president and then as a consultant, for MBNA, a Delaware-based bank and credit card giant to which Biden had close ties. But he does not appear to have lobbied for the firm.

“Steve Schmidt lied — or just got it flat wrong," said Biden spokesman David Wade. "Hunter Biden has never — never — been a lobbyist for the credit card or banking industry."

Schmidt attacked Obama for his ties to William Ayers, who has spoken of his role in 1960s anti-war bombings committed by the Weather Underground.

"What we know for sure, and is beyond debate and argumentation is this: Senator Obama said that William Ayers is a guy that lives in his neighborhood. We know that that is a disingenuous and untruthful answer,” Schmidt said.

“Senator Obama began his political career in its early stages raising money at Ayers’ house,” he said.

Obama did hold a 1995 campaign event at Ayers’ house. It was not, however, a fundraiser, and Ayers did not contribute money to Obama’s first campaign, according to Illinois records.

Schmidt also complained of Obama backers’ attacks on McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

“As soon as Gov. Palin was nominated, one of … Obama’s chief campaign surrogates, [Florida Rep.] Robert Wexler, went out and accused her of being a Nazi sympathizer,” Schmidt said. “Where is the outrage to that aspersion on the part of some of the biggest newspapers in the country?”

But Wexler didn’t call Palin a Nazi sympathizer. He called former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan a Nazi sympathizer, and attacked Palin for allegedly having endorsed him.

“John McCain's decision to select a vice presidential running mate that endorsed Pat Buchanan for president in 2000 is a direct affront to all Jewish Americans. Pat Buchanan is a Nazi sympathizer with a uniquely atrocious record on Israel,” Wexler said.

(Wexler was apparently wrong: Though Buchanan claimed that Palin had supported him, she said she backed Steve Forbes in 1996 and 2000, and no evidence has emerged to the contrary.)

Asked about the series of errors, McCain aides could not provide evidence to back up Schmidt’s assertions.

One McCain aide, Michael Goldfarb, said Politico was “quibbling with ridiculously small details when the basic things are completely right.”

Another, Brian Rogers, responded more directly:

“You are in the tank,” he e-mailed.

Sounds like sour grapes from the liberal left to me...

But yet, how is it then Obama calls for dismissal of any associations, but we get the call out on Buchanan because she wore a button during a book signing he did in her town as Mayor? OK.. you libs run with that, while we take apart the Ayers association.

Difference: Gov Palin EXPLAINED it and left it for others to accept or not SHE DIDN'T LIE ABOUT IT!
Obama lied about his association with Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, and others as the information after his response shows different in the facts than his statment!

Welcome to the world of not having a media to cover you! What we have is a NEW media that people are paying attention to now, and liberals have never had to deal with such transparency.

But instead of just complaining about it, the NEW media offers equal time for Obama to correct the record ANYTIME he chooses! (problem is.. it was the NEW media that already corrected the record, leaving the left with just complaints)

Jesus!! Another Cut-n-Paste Queen!
Plum...think for yourself! Get outta Disney World! Obama's unsavory behaviors and criminal involvements and associates have been proven time and again; the only downfall is the media loves controversy and excitment, thus their love affair with him.
Had he been fully white, think he'd be where he's at?
"Pure blooded Blacks," for lack of a better term, who have made their way in life without a handout despise this guy...and the democratic party. They see through his feeble attempts to bring real change.

McCain's party will try anything at this point.
They're getting really desparate, especially
since McCain admitted nothing about economics.
HERE'S THE VIDEO

LOL! Great example from CynPro! McCain is big enough to admit his strong suit is not economic issues.. Sure would be nice if Obama could do the same about the defense of this nation instead of pretending and even getting in the middle of affairs in Iraq when its not his job.

However.. It does seem to ring pretty loud then that if McCain who admits to the economy not being his best arena was the ONLY one to bring light to the current mortgage and wall street crisis as far back as 2005!

LOL! Always cracks me up! Liberals complain about how the Republicans are stupid, dumb, unable to speak clearly, but then around every turn the Democrats get beat by them on policy, and executive matters!

Always fun to see a clown call someone else funny lookin!

See told ya CynPro... they cannot see the truth...I feel so sorry for them. They will still never see it because they think they know the truth. They think Obama is criminal for some reason...guess its because hes black. Sad thing is their own VP-pick is a criminal and they don't even know it. They turn a blind eye to her...its sooo sad.

LOL! News Flash! The Webteam actually took down my cut and paste of CnP's ridiculous post on taxes. I guess they just refuse to debate the fact that Small business generally files as a single person, and while they will report income over 250K they use it to make payroll etc. but the Obama folks instead of debating the substance and facts will fight to the end to block and delete ANY comment that would have the liberals here actually defend their thesis! Now CynPro aka YBSRobin now is doing as she always does and hidding behind the next liberal she thinks she can trust. Plum19 this time after Grasshopper aka Polisciguru had to run for the hills.

plum - you're a disney characte too, just like Cynpro. Obama's just as much white as black; in fact, claiming to be black may be the only reason you're supporting him...White guilt, pal? Did your daddy own a plantation?
Anyway, regardless of color, the man's totally incompetent for the job; end of story.
You'll forgot about feeling sorry for us, and switch to your own pity when you're betrayed...and subsequently taxed to death!
Get your head out of the sand!
Cynpro's sucking down vodka and valium, so she's a lost cause...maybe you can be salvaged to assist your country.

Abunai - heck yeah the web teams biased; this scrawny worthless post has had 12 hits, and remains on the front page....

its funny that the republicans have to search for things against Obama. How come it is never front page like the McCain stuff. Don;t say that all of the media is biased, If that was true, why doesn't Fox make everything Obama does big news. Fox was the only station that I saw that had long coverage on Palin and hardly any on Obama.

The more I read the hate, and rubish from TM, and a few others on this board, the more I know I've made up my mind to vote for Obama.

I wasn't sure who I was going to vote for, but thanks TM..

I also like how those against Obama, keep coming up saying we will get Taxed to death. How about you go read his plan, instead of the media, on his plans.

The Republicans sure did great these last 8 years, don't ya think?

Abunai read my blog view my photos
Sep 24, 2008 | 8:14 PM

OK shipmate.. read his plan then!

Put the senario that you liberals ignore together shall we?

Small business owner.. 25 employees, working 18 hour days, 6 days a week and because you are an "S type business" or self proprietor.. you will file the business income as an individual. ALL that payroll, and healthplan, etc you paid out of profits will be considered rich by Obama's plan as you make 250K or more, so you will get nailed with uncapped S.S., and corporate taxes as well!

This includes the bread and butter small businesses that employ a HUGE portion of America!

Next... WHO will the consumption tax hit? The new tax on electrictity, water, heating oil, and utilities? Windfall profits tax on Oil.. that will go to the pump.

And finally... Obama has voted for tax increases on the middle class CONSISTANTLY and even up to this month! So you tell me WHY I should believe him!

Waterrat - you're welcome, but seriously, it's your choice to be patsy.

PS - it's not hate and rubish...obviously, you don't do your research very well, and that's what Obama's counting on, the voter that buys a car because he likes the color...

I could care less about dems in general, however, Obama, his family, his church, and friends have all denounced this country...repeatedly...are you blind? So, if you want to allow someone like that to lead you, perhaps you do need spoonfeeding. Have a spine, man, and vote McCain.

He's not my first choice, but a MUCH better choice than democratic craziness...PElOSI, REID, ? Are you kidding me dude? You should be angry about this. McCain's angry, and wants change too. So, I'll pick the better, more seasoned man, the American to lead.

With respect there shipmate... Obama is an absolute hack, and is ready to destory the military as Clinton did!

I was ready to ring the necks of all the careerist hacks in the Pentagon who let that man snatch up 140 Billion a year out of DoD budget, then place freakin diversity quotas on us (12/12/5 ring a bell?) and after stripping us of manpower, assets, and funding INCREASED OUR USE!! Top Brass puppets like Boorda, Clark, and yes Powell were LYING through their teeth about readyness!

Yes Sir! We have 100 aircraft on the tarmac..(just keep that only half of them can even get off the ground!!)

Oh no! Don't write that CASREP!

I don't know what your position or background in the Navy was, but I can tell ya, when I retired, I left quite bitter! I buried alot of fellow brothers that died in vain as we sat back and let guys like Sadaam rebuilt everything they died trying to change!

It's not that I'm for anyone, but I'm trying to find out who is the less'er of the 2 evils here.

I know all about running a small business, had a manufacturing business, with 6 employee's, here in Melbourne. We had to close our doors 2 years ago, hence why I'm a stay at home dad now.

GW has had a hand in messing things up. He sure didn't have an easy time though. What person could have, after 9/11. But in his second term, he sure should have worked a little harder on the economy, rather that Iraq. We should have finished the job when GW Sr. was in office (Desert Sheild / Storm).

I'm still undecided. To be honest, this is the first time I've really paid any attention to the elections. Maybe cause I'm a dad, failed business owner, and first time home owner now?

Didn't mean to come off rude.

Well Plum the 90s SUCKED for my family! Because of the drawdown of the military, my chances for advancement were less than 3% a year, My workload increased because Clinton removed the civilian work from the base and put it on the military yet I didn't get the pay that came with that job before, it went to Cliton's social programs!

Because I was a white male I had to wait for quotas to be filled before I could get any chance! 12% black, 12% hispanic,5% asian or other, and 20% female had to be filled before we looked at any white males for anything, meanwhile in special forces all we had was white males!!

The deployment times went up, home time went down, my taxable pay would rise 3% but allowances DOWN 7% so with a net loss of 4% I still paid HIGHER TAXES!!

A hundred aircraft on the ground, 25 of them could fly, but the top guys were too scared to tell anyone they couldn't get the job done so they reported just 100 planes.

THEN Bush came to office, his SECDEF reads the reports, we go to war and then BAM! Where are the hundred planes? OH! SORRY SIR! We forgot to tell you only 25 of them could work!

Suddenly its Bush's fault?

Clinton destroyed the military, and we have alot of dead to show for it!

I was Born in Burlington Iowa in Feb of 1986. I moved to Florida in 1992 and have been in the same town sence. I graduated from Pine Ridge High School in 2004. In High School, I found two passions. I fell in love with TV. Not, just the TV, but the idea to be on and make TV. I want to be a director. I go to the University of Central Florida. My other love that I came across at Pine Ridge High School is my future wife, Elizabeth. She is the sun in my day and the moon in my night. She is my best friend and the only woman on Earth that I ever want to be with. I grew up a NASCAR fan and it started two months after I was born when future NASCAR star Ernie Irvan was holding me at a local dirt track. The drivers I follow now are Jeremy Mayfield, Denny Hamlin, David Ragan, Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart, Casey Mears, Scott Riggs, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Bobby Labonte, Clint Bowyer, Kurt Busch, Juan Pablo Montoya, Dave Blaney, Jamie McMurry, Scott Wimmer, Reed Sorenson, and A.J Allmindinger. I Think Dale Earnhardt Jr. is over rated. And I know Jeff Gordon isn't a fan friendly driver. My heros are Richard Petty, Ryan Cooper (The firefighter who ran into the Sanford houses in 2007) and Fireball Roberts. I also fell into the typical sports like football and baseball. I root for the Tampa Bay Bucs for the NFL season and for MLB I follow the Boston Red Sox. I Currently work at Lowe's in Orange City and love my job there as a Outside power equipment Associate. I'm treated well and the job is nice and relaxing. I plan on getting married really soon to Elizabeth. We set a date for March 6th 2010!!!!!
