I can write with both hands so what category would that make me...a mutant? Some just look at me as a witch, witch doctor, or *itch! I answer to all three! LOL

Oh you can't be serious...I know when I was young I heard this kinda of nonsense..and that's my opinion nonsense..BESIDES YOU ARE TOO CUTE...you certainly don't look like no little devil....LOL...

I believe that was a myth back in the days like every one was righty so a lefty would spook others.....just like way yonder in the 60's 70's and part of 80's kids were born with their eyes shut..then in mid 80's lots of birth were with infants eyes wide open..and ya know people like to invent as they go...I used to be able to write with both...still do but not as accurate as I am with left hand. Anyone who thinks of lefties badly are stuck in silly superstition. But it's been a longstanding superstition, at that. The English word "sinister," which means evil or menacing, actually comes from the Latin word for "left-handed."

In many parts of Africa and in the Middle East (especially Muslim nations) the left had is the hand used for cleaning oneself after deficating, therefore, there is a certain stigma associated with being left handed. The thinking is "why would anyone use their "toilet hand" for eating ... cultural stuff.

My grandfather was a lefty. My step-mother used to tell me stories about how the nuns would slap his hand with a ruler (not a fish, though that would've been funnier) for writing with his left hand. The end result was, he was able to write with both hands. Guess he showed them.

People who believe this nonsense about left-handers really need to join the 21st century, right along with those people who claimed the teacher who was fired was practicing "wizardry" when he made a toothpick disappear, then reappear.

When I was real young, my Grandmother tried to get my Momma to stop me from reaching with my left hand. Momma said she kept telling her that it was the mark of the Devil.

i'm reading a book called "A Left-Hand Turn Around the World- Chasing the Mystery and Meaning of All Things Southpaw" by David Wolman and the research is outstanding. According to his findings from New Mexico University, sorry to burst your bubble Cromagnonwoman, but Lefties live on adverage 74.6 years, while righties live 73.9 years. Left handers include Albert Enistein, Franklen Delenor Roosenvelt (Who would sign almost everything right handed because of his mothers teachings), Bill Clinton, Steve Jobs, Bill gates, Magic Johnson, Abraham Lincoln, and John Adams. Lefties are more likely to be liberal, be almost any religion, natrualy stronger then righties, have more knowlege of the suroundings, and because of the reversal of brain waves, are much more likely to remember a bigger vocabulary.

I saw the American dad episode and it brought back memories of my youth , but the Nun in school used a ruler to change my evil ways and not a fish....
As far the facts presented by plum they are meaningless , lifespan ? That is just a statistical anomaly based on the lower portion of the population that is left dominant, smarter? Smarter? More likely to be Communist ? Give me a break changing the position of the dominant hemisphere in the brain does not increase or decrease any of those factors ! In fact the dominance can be shifted with practice, I learned to write with my right hand because I went to catholic school and was forced to use only my right hand but I shifted to writing with my left when I was 20 , when I was 25 I had an accident that cut two of the tendons in my left hand so I started writing with my right hand again.

The religion thing comes from the fact that from the early days of chistianity and cathoicism...(spelling???) to 50 years ago, Lefties were outcast. When the men wrote the bible, the right had was always one of caring and saving, the left hand was to smite and the preferance of lucifer. On another topic, I really enjoy American Dad. The last episode was really good. Ha! Steve and Halie thought their mom was racist!
