How is it that someone who kidnaps a child and rapes them deserves to be included in the cruel and unusual act? What's cruel and unusual is the fact that sympathy is given to the creeps that prey on kids. What's also cruel and unusual is what parents go through in a situation like this. I believe an eye for an eye. For those who oppose. Let this tragedy occur to your child and let's see how you feel.

It's a bunch of BLEEP! They need to be quartered, tortured, made to feel pain! I have no tolerance, no sympathy WHATSOEVER for pedophiles! You're new here, so I'll say again what many others here know about me. When my sister was 10, her best friend, Caty Richards, was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a serial child killer, by the name of Gary Fisher. THAT twisted freak had killed at LEAST (that he confessed to) 7-8 other little girls. He got life, and the MF is still alive and well. Here recently, someone who USED to be a friend of mine was arrested and convicted of molesting 2 kids, ages 4 & 6. I know the kids, too. He's going to prison for a MEASLY 17 years! THAT'S IT! I have a really, really deep disgust for people who hurt kids, to the point, if I had the opportunity, I'd hurt them so bad, they'd never live to tell about it!

"Cruel and unusual punishment."

The manner of the execution should be the same as the manner of the murder.

That would be justice.

And I will add that does not happen fast enough for me. FIX THE JUSTICE SYSTEM. Stop these useless appeals when you know da** well they are guilty. Treat the criminals they way they treated their victims.

One more down and more to go without the prolong waiting and catering! They need to cut budgets, well start with not allowing such an extended expense in prison and follow up on the sentencing! Once sentenced, all rights are denied and that includes appeals unless additional evidence is brought up that may prove innocence, which rarely happens. Repeat offenders shouldn't have any kind of rights including within the Constitution!

Boy does this blog remind me of my own.
It is good to finally see people agree with me.

Far too often I am told that my views do not apply because "most abductions have no witnesses". Even if that is true, the few times that a witness is present, all citizens should be allowed to stop these criminals 'dead in their tracks'.

Stopping an abduction in progress is more effective than an Amber Alert if you ask me.

Please check out my blog on this topic folks.

I do agree with the blog. I think there should be a five year program. Five years after the trial ends will be the date for death. That gives them enough time to make sure that there is nothing more that can prove the person wasn't guilty. The second that time passes, kill the death row inmate the cheapest way they can... with a bullett.

Well in this particular case, I think justice would have been served if he were to have been shot right after he pointed to the spot and asked for a cheeseburger. Not 17 years later. I don't know how officers can restrain themselves from killing murderers and pedophiles. God must help them a lot.

While I agree that people like this "should" die there is a very important issue in the "cruel and inhuman, unsual" act that can not be ignored. The "death penalty" was designed to punish ONLY the most "heinous" of crimes. While you will get no argument from me about what these people do to children being "heinous" that is MY EMOTIONAL reaction and not my anyalitcal one and there in lies the problem. Every crime committed against a child envokes an EMOTIONAL response from people and like it or not EMOTION has no place within the LAW and it NEVER should. So yes on an emotional level NOTHING would have been good enought to torture this POS in my opinon but had he not murdered this child then from a legal stand point void of emotion the death penatly would not have met the test. We can not close our eyes to justice because we don't agree with it, what we can do is educate ourselves and learn that while one course of action is appropriate now it bends the rules and set a precident that could have horrendous effects for others at another time.

I wouldn't make a good police officer. I couldn't even be a good EMT-B.

That a LIBERAL for you, cheaper to give the Cops extra bullets, we should be killing a dozen on Death Row everyday, till it empty..There last meal should be pbj sandwich & black coffee...Lets start worring about the VICTIMS and Screw the SCUM-BAGS
