He actually was hated like Bush is, but time changes opinions. Lincoln was also hated. Bush (and Clinton for that matter) didnt do much with their agendas( energy, borders, poverty, crime, ethics in govt).... but they might get a good write up in 40 years when Iraq is a Dubai in 5 years. Clinton is trying to rewrite HIS destiny but so far no one is buying.

Truman even ended Segregation of the Military in 1948! LONG before Johnson tried to do it for the entire country by some 20 years!

How refreshing to read of a man like Truman-sadly today we will NEVER see an honest politician....

Sure we will.. All we need is for the biased media to actually report on the good guys, instead of playing games... Plenty of great Americans out there that could lead this nation, but its the media and the people that have such a thirst for drama that we won't see those folks run for office.

Always remember.. garbage in ... garbage out. It is the American people that pick their leaders... so the fault needs to lay at our feet first...

Concerned person who feels like expressing my opinion while I still can. I have been in Florida since 1973 when things were less hectic crime was not a problem. I enjoy writing to the editor, emailing to higher ups when things seem out of control like the current crime wave. I believe in free speech and it seems people are letting that slip away as they are told what to say about certain seasonal times. I think our media is our biggest threat using their liberal viewpoints and if wrong they are not responsible for errors I cant understand the Supreme's courts power we do not elect this group but we are at their mercy if you can call it that on issues that have an effect how we behave. People in power we dont electt that are backed by special interst groups or maybe some appointments are not acceptable to certain parties and therefore some well qualified individuals never get the appoiintment. The supreme court opens their sessions with a prayer and the ten commandments are on their very building. When will the media think before addressing dangerous things that are picked up by the media and sort of become a fad for copycats like the Campus massacares occurring senselessly.
