From the Baltimore Sun 8/8

BERWYN HEIGHTS - When the shooting stopped, two dogs lay dead. A mayor sat in his boxers, hands bound behind his back. His handcuffed mother-in-law was sprawled on the kitchen floor, lying beside the body of one of the family pets that police had killed before her eyes.
.............................
What police left behind was a house stained with blood and a trail of questions about their conduct. No other evidence of illegal activity was found, and no one was arrested at Mayor Cheye Calvo's home in this small bedroom community near College Park.

How much longer will the people of the USA stand for such police abuse?  Not even an "oop's we're sorry".   The SWAT team got a "no-knock" warrant and treated it like a license to invade and kill.  Spokesman for the SWAT team offered no apologies- and justified shooting one of the dogs in the back while running away by saying that the officers felt threatened by the dogs.  Mayor Calvo did admit that the dog was an "aggressive licker".

I'll bet that the internal "investigation" will conclude that the cops did nothing wrong- after all that's the way it usually works.  This time they might have picked on the wrong guy to victimize, he's already calling for the feds to step in.

OK let's here how you cop lovers justify this one........

This story is spreading like crazy. It is only hours old and has already been picked up in the UK and Australia.

since O.J.'s. Whooo-whee! Somebody got some
'splainin' to do, and I don't mean MAYBE!

Those no knock warrents should be only for murders and murderers. They should be held accountable for any and all mistakes and damage they do when they are wrong just like anyone else would.

another case of their frustration due to the 38 year unwinnable war on drugs. it would seem that after 38 years they would come up with a new plan of attact like maybe decriminalize drugs and invest in rehab instead of buildind more prisons, take away the profits from the dealers take away the crime that comes along with it. drugs are as big money maker for the dealer as it is for the govt, the war on drugs cost approx 2 million dollars a minute, thats big pay checks for the dea and the rest of the agencies involved. maybe im not a rocket scientist but i beleive 2 mill a minute can be used on more productive agendas. the govt caused the drug problem years ago by placing them in neighborhoods that they wanted to keep the population on drugs ie gettos. they miscalated not realizing it would spread to the white areas. prohibition couldnt ever work and neither will the war on drugs. the police are getting out of control not so much the local but swat teams dea atf and so on. we as a socioty should demand a stop to this kind od police behavior before it gets worse. all i can say if a swat team came in my house by mistake i might be dead but ill bring a few with me i didnt serve 20 years in the military so call fighting for our freedom for it to come to this

Right on the money Stroke53. What kind of thugs go around shooting Labs? I don't want people like that owning guns much less wearing a badge. Now we find out there was no "no-knock" authorized for this "raid". Want to know the really bad thing about this? There are botched drug raids like this happening all the time across this country that never make the news.

"all i can say if a swat team came in my house by mistake i might be dead but ill bring a few with me i didnt serve 20 years in the military so call fighting for our freedom for it to come to this"

...and if I was still alive, I would have
that director's/chief's head as a trophy
and/or their job like I'm sure this Mayor
will do. Shooting a Lab in the back...
that's some seriously cowardice BS! And
cuffing the Mother-In Law?!? Well,
depending on his attitude toward her that
may or may not have been a good thing either!

Man I hate stories like this because no matter
what these schmucks will be let off,
actually sleep good at night
thinking they did the right thing...WHO ACTUALLY TRAINS THESE GOONS ANYWAY?
