Last Post 14 hours Ago

all of us will feel the heat for the next seven days ( actually more like through october...i'm just sayin'! ) with highs in the 90's.

there will be a 30% coverage of the storms from around 4pm - 8pm in the sections of the state between I-75 and I-4.

then we will only see a small coverage around 10% - 20% through early next week.

stay hydrated, and stay cool!

JVF, we live North of Mt. Dora (maybe 10 minutes from there). Right when we were going out to feed our animals yesterday, the thunderstorms just dropped, out of the middle of no where. We had to wait over an hour for it to stop (as we were too lazy to get our umbrellas from our vehicle to make it to the barn..lol). For once I was glad to wait as we needed this rain. And shame on me for not having faith in Jim's forecast, I won't do that again. In fact it's starting to cloud up in our neighborhood as I type now. And Jim, the heat is relentless, but the animals are appearing to enjoy it. What's sad is we spend all Winter wishing it were Summer then we spend all Summer wishing it were Winter, we just can't be happy...lol.

In Lake County I have seen that so many times. I can be going from the Mt. Dora area, where it is dry, no clouds, and when I come close to the Lake Square Mall, suddenly it's raining. Since we moved to Lake County about 12 years ago, I've noticed that Lake County has it's own odd weather patterns. For instance not too long ago when the tornadoes hit downtown Eustis, during that evening, we did get wind, but no rain. Then I remember a couple of years before that, Mt. Dora was hit so hard to where they lost so many beautiful trees down town, and since we are close, we didn't get anything. I tend to wonder if the number of lakes in Lake County have something to do with it, or perhaps it's just coincidental, and the weather pattern is just plain unexplainable.

I don't think this pattern is exclusive to Mt. Dora.

Last night, I was driving East on 436; no rain. I look to the South and there is lightning and black clouds. I look to the North and there is a blue sky and the sun is out!

Then, as soon as I cross I-4, the road is completely wet, but there is no rain. I guess I must have missed it by seconds. It was weird!

Oh, Jim, I really hope the heat doesn't stay until October ...
