I have more Darwinian thinking than I care to admit. Don’t get me wrong … I don’t believe in that macro-evolutionary philosophy and theory that tries to explain how we came to be through biological progression from nothing to single-cell life to the diversity and complexities of species we see today. However, I have subtly embraced a natural selection and survival of the fittest mentality applied to the spiritual realm. My job is to procreate … to pass on my spiritual DNA to the next generation (yet this type of DNA is not transferred by biological procreation processes).
It is not enough for me, in terms of my divine purpose, to only have spiritual life for me … I need to be a conduit of spiritual life to others. Interestingly though, we, as Christians, are implored to surpass that minimal expectation to communicate spiritual life and truth to the next generation. Our job is NOT complete until we have the assurance that the new generation of believes understand and implements this unchanging imperative to subsequent generations. This is spiritual multiplication!
So while the transference concept did not originate with Darwin, his application of this biblical truth, known to him or not, is illustrative of truth that Christians should strive to implement for God’s glory and His divine purpose as seen in the Great Commission … to make disciples of all nations.

A "teacher" must first be a learner. Truth matters! The truth will set you free. I've been married for 20+ years and have four great kids. As an adult, I've lived for nine years in West Africa and Europe. I consider myself to be a southern gentleman.
