There is a storm on the horizon. This storm threatens to use our liberties as Americans to rob us of our freedoms. The storm is called Islam. Why should atheists and agnostics join with Christians to combat this menacing threat? After all, aren't Christians the enemy too of those who don't believe in God, a god, gods, or don’t' know what they believe? On the contrary, biblical Christians should be considered as best friends to the atheists and agnostics even though their beliefs are very different.

Christianity seeks to persuade others to embrace their faith. It is not by force, but by love and a winsome lifestyle, moral excellence, and integrity that the imperfect Christian seeks to share, as a beggar who has found bread tells others, where they can come to have their hunger satisfied. We are unapologetic in expressing our desire for others to know Jesus Christ personally, however, it is always and only by persuasion that this can be done.

If Islam becomes the dominant religious influence in this country, all of our precious freedoms are at risk. We as Christians have fought and died for our country's freedoms that guarantee that an atheist is free NOT to believe in God. Islam offers no such guarantee. In fact, Islam promises severe persecution of those who don't believe in Allah.

So my atheist and agnostic friends, while you may disagree with Christianity, it is not your enemy; Islam is your enemy. Join with the Christians to oppose this threat to our precious freedom of religion as Americans that allows us to agree to disagree. Yes, we want to influence society, but the religion of Islam is satisfied with nothing less than imposition, domination, and forced submission of our culture and our way of life.

If we fund Christian schools then we have to fund Muslim schools. If we allow Christians to pray before public events, then we have to let Muslims pray before public events. If we let Christian beliefs influence our laws, then we have to let Muslim beliefs influence our laws.

I cannot unite against Muslims, or Christians for that matter, but I can unite against extremism, violence, ignorance, and oppression.

I would rather unite for something.

myfakeorlando has yet to produce agnostic or atheist leaders and, every time I have checked, have only put biblical content on their front page. I have yet to see a main article from a muslim, hindu, or an atheist/agnostic.

I know they think I'm kidding but I really would like to see some people talk life as a natural and final human experience.

Sure, I could go to an atheist site but that's not what I'm looking for. I would rather go to a place where all are heard and where differences can be discussed with people from all philosophical backgrounds.

Belief without controversy is void of life.

I say everyone sould all believe in only one religion from now on.

This religion is called Common Sense.

This will end all wars, fights, and just plain stupid reasons to be a terrorist.

So lets all switch from each and every religion out there and believe in only one for once.

Norty, I actually wrote this blog thinking of you and DVS. If you read it carefully you will see that the call to unite against Islam, oppressive and anti-democatic in nature, we are uniting for something ... Freedom!

Because we know that govenment can be oppressive, Christians want to influence government to ensure that it does not impinge on anyone's religious freedoms, including yours. Islam, as a religion, would not tolerate you as an atheist whereas Christianity says "that's your choice, it is a bad one, but it is your choice." See the difference?

The freedom of religion amendment is designed to protect the church from the state, and protect against a state chuch; it is not intended to provent any religious person from influencing government laws (as long as those laws do not go against the constitution).

Just be thankful that our country was heavily influenced by Christian values rather than Islamic teaching, otherwise you wouldn't have the freedom of opposition. That is also the basis for my current call for us to unite against Islam for both of our respective convictions.

BTW Norty, I'm not with myfoxorlando, so I can speak to your beef with them about lack of exposure to other relgious (and atheistic) views. I'm open to hearing what that have to say and how they would defend their positions.

Thomas Jefferson always said that religon is too emotional of a topic and should be kept out of the law. This is where separation of churchand state takes its principals from. One religion in this country has tried to break that barrier. The barrier is falling and now you want us to unite to stop another one from doing the exact same thing...because they are muslim. Whether they are danger incognito or not its already happend. In public I am reapeatedly told that I'm going to hell and god hates me and I should have no rights and I should die. Wonder what religion that is...

Candy - That is Chuck Norris, not me. My son likes Chuck and suggested that I use his pix as an avitar.

Candy and Notasteelersfan - Good job! You got the point ... this is the land of the free with the freedom to practice any religion. I have Muslim friends. I love Muslims. The reason that I posted this purposefully provocative blog was draw attention to the innately oppressive nature of Islam (not a radical manifestation of it) The point is that if Islam rises in dominance, other religions (and atheism) are not even tolerated.

Having studied Islam and having lived in places where Islam has had a going majority as a religion, the reality is this according to the Qu'ran and Islamic theology ... there are two houses Dar al-Harb (the house of war) and Dar al-Islam (the house of surrender). If you are in the house of Islam (surrender) you are at peace. If you are not a Muslim (in the house of Islam) then you are in the house of war and will not have peace until you submit to Islamic supremacy.

If you think Castro's Cuba was/is bad, Islamic dominance in America would strip us of our right to such an extreme degree that Castro would look like a lamb.

Notastellersfan - I am sorry for the public harassment you have received. I am not promoting or condoning harassment of anyone for any reason, nor do I justify those actions.

God doesn't hate you, He loves you and offers as wonderful plan for your life (It is an offer an no one is forced to take it).

The Bible teaches that everyone (me included) sins and fall short of God's standard of perfection. (This isn't to debate whether anyone believes it or not ... just what the Bible says). The result of sin is death or spiritual separation from God. This is the PROBLEM.

Jesus Christ is unique solution for our common sin problem and through Him you can know God's love and plan for your life. This is the SOLUTION ... not coming from man but from God.

Receiving Christ, by faith is the means of establishing that love relationship with God that result in eternal life.

This is simply a take or leave it proposition, not an imposition (with very high stakes). Some will say that it is stupid. Others will say this makes sense and believe. Others still will say this is interesting, I would like to hear more.

The attack you received was from a person, not from Jesus or Christianity. The point of the blog is that Islam give us no "leave it" option if it become the dominat religious force.

I can't and won't try to defend all manifestations as Christianity and so-called Christians.

Lets put it simple GOOD or EVIL.

Are you for Good, or are you for Evil?

The truely Good go to heaven, the littlest bit Evil goes to Hell. So what is the problem again.

You can talk people to death, only the truth lies within yourself.

Here is the fact, it's only one, but it is very true. Islam teaches to kill anyone who is not a muslim. Anyone means everyone. I have no problem defending myself to the death this on principle. I do not trust ANY muslim at all. They cannot be trusted. Am I above them? Well, I'll leave that up to my God to decide.

Very good didaskalos. You are absolutely correct. All people of all faiths, and those with no faith, must unite to defeat the threat of Islam! A faith that demands death for ALL that do not believe in it!

I would never succomb to ISLAMIC rule and I would in that instance (and as much as I hate and detest guns) pick up any type of gun I could find and shoot these islamic scum to rid them to keep our freedoms, of which we seem to get stripped of little by little every day by some political doofus trying to tell us what's good for us. This is the problem with this country we call America, we have allowed foreigner to invade, take our jobs, move our plants overseas and the "We the People" has literally GONE OUT THE WINDOW! It is time, that we TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY,QUIT CATERING TO EVERY FOREIGNER and PUT "WE THE PEOPLE" back into AMERICA and if we don't, we're definitely going to be the ones to suffer for it, not those that are coming in and taking over.

It is time people, PUT YOUR RELIGIOUS or NON RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES ASIDE and LET's not just GET, but TAKE OUR COUNTRY, the UNITED STATES of AMERICA BACK before we LOSE EVERYTHING, including what freedoms we still have!

Well the Bible did warn about a one religion order. and I personally believe that its Islam. We as Christians just have to heed the Bible's warnings and pray to God. 85% of Americans claim to be Christians but yet dont even act like a Christian nation anymore. We used to pray in school and now we dont. Nowadays we dont even say the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. Times have changed.

thank God the atheists that had prayer removed from schools is DEAD. I grew up in Christian schools and those who pray together stay together and there was no home invasions and disrespecting. we were in the house by dark and families had dinner together. If prayer was back in school and families prayed together then maybe the kids would learn respect and how to be decent kids

Didn't someone once say "united we stand divided we fall" sgfl.

I may not pray or worship the same things you do, but I believe we do need to unite. I'm tired of the stares and the people I did tell that I don't believe in a god, constantly handing me bibles and telling me I'll burn forever in front of my mom.

Now is the time we need to unite. Can we really keep going on like this? Should we keep finding reasons to divide ourselves in spite of all of the lives already lost in the name of a so-called "holy" war?

Our country was founded on the belief that you should be able to worship in your own way without persecution.

Our country was founded on freedom.

Freedom is a beautiufl thing. It allows me to be in close proximity with those who are different from me and believe differently. Freedom also allows us to discuss common interests and our very differences.

Author and university president Robertson McQuilking said, "Freedom is not the license to do what I please, but the power to do what I ought." The context of freedom allow us to discuss what those "oughts" ought to be
