Bring It On!

We all have our own taste in music and we all have our favorite Artists and groups.   Have you ever been to a concert to see your favorites?    I have been to a number of concerts throughout my years but never was able to see the ones I really wanted to see.   Someone either had an extra ticket or out on a date.

I did see Johnny & Edgar Winter (WOW) that was a great concert and my very first too...Seals & Crofts...Hank Williams Jr & Merle Haggard (another great concert) Danny's last concert with Molly Hatchet (really rocked)!    But the ones I really wanted to see but was unable to was PINK FLOYD, Moody Blues, Rush, CHER (retired now), and Fleetwood Mac!

Of course the latest Concert I saw was at "Bar Out Back" with our own Jim Van Fleet and the Reign (What a show)!

Were you able to see your favorite group or groups on stage?    If so then who was it and how did you like it...was it worth every cent you paid?    If you haven't then who would you like to see perform?

Blog about it here!!!     ROCK ON!!!

I wanted to see Pat Benatar when she was giving her free concert, I missed it. When I was a kid, I went to a lot Bluegrass festivals, where there are many bands. Trips to Disney with out door concerts, I saw Gladys Night and the Pips, Earth Wind and Fire, Casey and the Sunshine Band. My first real concert was "Gary Write, and "Peter Gabriel", in the 70's. I went to a street party in Orlando some years back. I can't remember who all was there, but it was awesome. I was close to the stage and unfortunately, "I was close to the stage". LOL
I've seen Molly Hatchet a few times, free/Leesburg Bike Week. I've even seen Jim VanFleet and the Reign, in Leesburg. They Might Be Giants, Neil McCoy, and Alabama.
I love Merle Haggard. Your choices of who you would have like to have seen mirrors some of mine. How about James Taylor? I'd like to see, Blue October and too many more to list. Or I just can't remember all of their names. LOL

I DID TOO! I love Bluegrass!
I would like to see Pat Benatar & James Taylor!
Merle Haggard totally blew me away when he played that fiddle and killed a bottle of JD on stage then continued to JAM on that fiddle...he whiped the floor and took total charge of that stage over Hank Williams JR!
I bet Earth Wind & Fire was a good show!!!

I've never been a big JR. fan, his dad was pretty awesome. It sounds like it was a great show.
All the performers at Disney had great shows, and I was so young back then. Now I'm feeling old again. LOL
Peter Gabriel, and this was my first real concert, and he wasn't as popular in the music world at the time, but his show to me was so much better than Gary Writes. Just my opinion.
I would love, love, love to see Dave Mathews, and Tori Amos in concert. I'd even like to see your band one day. I like the snippets of music on your web page.

I went to a LOT of concerts as a kid. The best:
The Rolling Stones, in Madison Square Garden, circa mid 70's. I will never forget it. Also:
Led Zeppelin (Garden)
The Who (Houston)
BTO (Montana)
Lynyrd Skynrd (Poukeepsie)
Chicago (Poukeepsie)
Santana (Poukeepsie)
When I lived in Gainsville, on my way home one day, I saw a sign outside a bar that said: Tonite only! John Kay and Steppenwolf! Eight bucks cover. Wow. TBC

So I went home, cleaned up etc., went back.
Sure enough it was them. From my seat at the bar, I had a clear view of the band, and another night I will never forget. This was 88.
I saw Three Dog Night one time at the Miami Zoo back in 86. Outdoor concert, again, 8 bucks cover, which also included zoo admission. I loved that concert! They had a beer tent set up, but the line was so long, me and my brother got a beer, then just went to the back of the line! LOL! We had a clear view of the band, while waiting in line, and by the time we needed another beer, we were at the front again! LOL!!! Good times! Then we walked the zoo, My brother wanted to see the lions. What a great day.

Still waiting for Tom to get back to me about it! He kinda liked the idea too, I think.

MetalHead, it was just Three Dog Night. No Steppenwolf.
They opened with "One". I can't remember the encores, there were two. Awesome though, I remember that!

I saw Skynyrd in Poughkeepsie only a few weeks before most them were killed. Glad I did.

Good morning di. How's life treating you? Don't be jealous of me, because, You're beautiful. I am more envious of you being a able to perform and ride a nice bike. Heck the only time I ever drove a motorcycle was in my small front yard, in first gear. That was over 15 years ago. Feeling old again. LOL
AugustAllen. I'm so sorry to hear you got rained out. I would have had to drive over an hour to get to see her. I'm glad I didn't go. I would have been even more upset if I had went.

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE!!! TOM JOHNSON IS ON THE BALL FOR MUSIC FANS!!!! And he quoted: Oh yeah... spread the word... the MUSIC category **IS** coming... at some point. It has to be activated by the folks at "The Mothership" in New York City though. Not sure when that's gonna happen. Maybe if we keep filling up the ENTERTAINMENT category with MUSIC blogs... they'll have to make it active!

Let's make it happen!!!!!!!

So there is a central brain for these blogs. I didn't know.
No di, I did not see Black Sabbath. That was #1 on my list of concerts I wish I saw, but didn't. They were my favorite as a teen, my most listened to band. I had to use headphones when my dad was home though. LOL!

I wish I could have seen Ozzy with Randy Rhoads. I wanted to see him, but my parents said i was too young. >{
I saw him with Jake E. Lee and then with Zakk Wylde.
OZZY ROCKS!

I miss Black Sabbath, but Ozzy's voice, and music continues.
I never saw his "reality" show on HBO, and I am glad I didn't. I care more about his music, than his personal life.
And what a body of music it is.

Excuse me. I am going off the rails on a crazy train.
