Our country was founded by people who spoke English. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights are written in English. English should be declared our national language because it is something we should all have in common to tie us together. If we cannot communticate, we can not be a United people. When I turn on the radio or TV and hear a bunch of Spanish that I dont understand, it makes me feel like I am in a foreign country.

English is the language of Business. No one understands that better than the Chinese, who have required English to be taught for so long in the schools there, that there are now over 600 million Chinese citizens who speak English. Think about it: China has TWICE as many people speaking English as the whole population of the USA. The Chinese government realized long ago that if they wanted to DO BUSINESS and PROSPER, they would need to know English. Not Spanish, mind you, English!

Now China is eating our lunch. They are making so much money from us, and so much good use of the money, that China looks like a brand-new place. Everywhere you see new interstate highways, brand-new state-of-the-art bridges, office buildings, hotels, and on and on. Meanwhile we muddle along trying to figure out if we press "1" for English or "2" for Spanish. Personally, I just wont do business with anyone who refuses to speak or learn English. All the previous immigrants to our great Nation learned English, all the Italian and German and French, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, all learned English, and that made them truly American and unified us all.

I own a small import/export corporation and make several trips to China and the Pilippines each year. I am a licensed private pilot, former automotive engineer, and I am 59 years old. Politically, I consider myself moderately conservative. My first name is David, which is "Dawei" in Chinese Mandarin language. I like travelling to China the most, mecause of the great business opportunities, and how much more freedom the people there seem to have since the old Communist government decided it was better to be capitalists, heh heh. And the Chinese people love Americans, the best selling book in the Chinese airport bookstores is, believe it or not, "The Biography of Abraham Lincoln" Amazing!
