Beltane is from sunset April 30th to sunset May 1st.
It will soon be time to don your ankle bells (to ward off the fairy folk) and dance the brightly colored May Pole. Also, don't forget to decorate your baskets and fill them with useful items before you secretly leave them on a needy or deserving person's step.
For those who worship God/dess, this is the time of the May Queen, Stag Lord, Jack-in-the-Green and the Green Man.
Those of you wishing to add to your family, this is a time of fertility and festival.
Make sure you have your frankincense, roses, lemon balm, lemon thyme, quartz crystal, sunstone, orange calcite and malachite.
Remember, flowers and bright colors are called for this day.
May your fires burn strong and bright through the night.
Many blessings to all.
~ We need a General category for blogs. LOL
It is my belief that Humans originated from one place; the Savannahs of Africa.
It was the ideal environment for our particular life-form, and would have fit the description of Eden (for Christian bloggers). The oldest (6 million years) humanoid remains have been found there, and ALL people share Mitochondrial DNA which can be traced back to those remains through Lucy (3 million years old and descendant of 6 mil remains).
I don't believe Lucy was more Ape than Human, or that Humans evolved from Apes. I do believe we shared similarities out of geographic necessity, as evidenced by current similarities. I believe that, as all things must to survive, we have evolved to our present state and, if we live long enough, will continue to evolve to survive in the changing, ever increasing toxic environment.
I believe there was a larger, though not singular, land mass that has shifted on the Tectonic plates of the Earth's crust, explaining the dispersal of people around the world.
I also believe Humans are destined for self-made extinction. The shame is that we have taken so many others with us, and continue to do so.
No one can convince me that this is not one home, and we are not one family. Earth is our Mother; the provider of all we have - the only home we know, and all life upon Her is related and sacred. What happens to one, happens to all. Of course, Europeans make a strong argument for being invaded by extra-terrestrials (which I also believe exist), as they are so unlike any Tribal people on Earth.
