It's almost a year now.  I decided that I would go to a local dentist rather than commuting back to LA to see my lifelong dentist as I've done for 15 years.

Mistake!

After a year of surgery and drilling, I am no closer to being finished with this dental work then I was the day I walked in!  At first, I thought it was neat that the dentist was a perfectionist, but  after seeing my permanent crowns being sent back to the lab a ridiculous sixth time, I am starting to wonder.

I have paid the dentist over 20k!!!  Still, I have nothing to show except bad temporaries that keep falling out.

What can I do?  I am sick of this!  I have no way of knowing if the dentist is just really incompetent or if it is the lab screwing up, but I think having had to pay "up front" for the work and seeing no lasting results so far is wrong.

Any ideas my blogging buddies?

Cookie, you poor baby! All I can do is refer you to an honest, top-notch dentist, who really knows what he's doing! James Kornegay, Sr. DDS (386) 789-7990. My little girl was 5 when we first brought her to him, for a 2nd opinion. Another dentist (an obvious crook) had told us my baby girl had 5, yes five cavities, that needed to be filled to the tune of $155.00 PER TOOTH! Dr. Kornegay xrayed her, checked and re-checked her, then came to me and said, "I've been a Dentist for over 30 years, and I can't find one, single cavity in that child's PERFECT mouth!" Needless o say, he's had our business ever since, and never once let us down!

What a crook. That is a lot of money, this guy needs to give all of it back to you, and apologize.

Thanks, Gammie, but I know that isn't going to happen.

I am so mad I could scream! If I were not in so much pain, I might be able to scream.

There should be a website we could list all the crooks, even those who proclaim to be doctors.

Tom Sussi might be able to help at least get an apology out of the looser. LOL He's a pit bull when it comes to getting results.

Cookie..sorry to hear about your problems DARN IT ..if it aint one thing is another.....life a beitch isn't it. I personally don't like any of the dentist here but since we live here and I can't be going to Jersey I AM UP IN THE AIR AS TO GIVING YOU ANY GOOD REFRENCES. but i will share something. We have great dental insurance and I notice the same thing as you are now.....this dentist kept us going back and forth and I was forking out money THAT I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS NECESSARY......then i just stop going...thank god no pain...now I sent my daughter and i told her to tell that dentist to work within the means of the insurance coverge TURNS OUT THIS DENTIST MILKING THE INSURANCE AND ORDERS STUFF WE DON'T NEED......so i would first document all that's happened to you in a letter to the dentist send certified so you have proof wait and see what she or he response is..then I would get another dentist and get a second opinion......TO SEE IF ACTUALLY ANY WRONG DOING......it is so sad........lots of luck to you babes........

good heavens! I went to have this temporary re-cemented at 1pm and the dentist decided I needed a root canal! TRUTH! Can you believe it? So I sat in the chair 4 1/2 hours, then, following the procedure, the dentist said, "well, it looks like we won't be able to save that tooth after all."

ON TOP OF ALL THAT...I had to pay another $750!!!!

If it were not happening to me, I would not believe it. Sounds like a wild tale, but it's all 100% true.

NOW WHAT? I have now paid...sorry to admit this, but it's actually 32k!!!!!

Some of you guys know the job I have, and I cannot face the public without good teeth. This dentist has ruined my teeth and I sincerely do not know where to turn.

Can you say, "QUACK"?
Call the ADA and register a complaint.
Call an attorney and try to get your money back.
Call another dentist.

If I call another dentist, won't I be black-listed or something?

Truthfully, I don't have enough money to pay an attorney because I have given it to this dentist. I actually took out a 25k loan to pay for the balance of what I didn't have. Gosh, I sound really stupid, but what it really is that I trusted this dentist.

I am in so much pain right now [tears running down my cheeks] and the doctor did not give me anything for pain, even though I asked! The dentist recommended that "should there be pain," moutrin would help.

There must be a special hell for crooks, especially dishonest doctors.

cookie-lady, get some clove oil if you can find it and put it on your tooth like you would Orajel. If you can't find clove oil (I had to special order it from pharmacy before I found an herbalist), you can boil lots of whole cloves in water for about twenty minutes, soak a rag and douse your tooth. I've had, and periodically still have bad problems with my teeth. I have two crowns, but now always insist the tooth come out. I can't afford the expense or pain of root canals and such, especially when the tooth ends up coming out eventually anyway.

Blacklisted? Not by a reputable dentist hun.

An attorney will take a cut (around a third plus filing expenses) of what you get back, and will probably sue to recover his costs also. Try Morgan and Morgan. Check their website www.forthepeople.com . You can fill out a form and get an immediate, free case evaluation. Some attorneys offer a free 15 minute initial consultation.

You don't sound stupid hun. You sound wronged and deceived. Now is not the time to shrink into the shadows. Now is the time to stand up for yourself and make it right. Take the emense pain you're feeling and channel it into making that quackpot pay.

Let us know how you're doing.
