for the bad!  5:30PM newscast announced that there were more changes being made to the Trib, including laying off one of their best writers.  The excuse given was that they wanted to concentrate more on the on-line version.  The last thing I want to do in the AM is get on the computer to read the news, down load my crosswords, etc.

Rec'd something in the mail this week from the Trib... they now have a "Reward" program and I had earned 750 points!  They go on to mention how well the changes were rec'd by readers.

I am canceling my subscription first thing on Wednesday morning!

If the Trib were affiliated with FOX these changes would not have been made.

Maybe Ch8 will hire him now? They are partners right? They could use a few good writers.

tangers... I just completed an Editorial to the Trib, and a letter to the person who sent me that disgusting letter. I read today's trib and found out that another "friend", Rosemary, was also one of the people being let go. The TBT looks better every day... in fact, I am going out to the "box" and pick up today's.

tangers... as to WFLA hiring him... that will definately be a plus. They are the worse of the 3 major local channels, with BayNews9 being the worse fo the local stations... "major hurricane soon to hit New Orleans..." when it had already hit!

I am an Environmental Specialist with Hills. Cty. Basically, I am a "dumpster diver". I also do a lot of educational graphics design about the proper disposal of household chemical & electronics, litter, etc. My hobbies are very diverse... golf and reading, with sci-fi, forensic mysteries, and history being my favorites. My other passion is photography, mostly nature. Ever since experiencing my first hurricane in Florida, Cleo in 1964 when I was 15, when the eye went over my house, I have been fascinated with weather. I have a 99% accuracy... including predicting Charley's turn away from Tampa the night before he hit down south.
