Krystal Velasco and her son.
If you don't watch your weight, you could be charged double for your airline ticket. That's what happened to Krystal Velasco. The 23 year old mother wasn't charged for her luggage. Instead, a Southwest Airlines gate agent stopped her from boarding a plane-until she bought a second ticket to make up for her own extra weight.
Krystal said she was humiliated in front of her 7 year old son, especially when the ticket agent delayed the plane until she paid the extra fee. She cried openly as she described the ordeal.
Krystal says she's flown Southwest many times before-and never had to pay for an extra seat. She says she would have been happy to pay more-if she would have only known about the fee. Instead, she got through the ticket counter, security screening and waiting at the gate for more than hour without anyone saying a word.
Once on board the plane, Krystal was shocked to see there were plenty of open seats and she was seated next to her son, so she wasn't making any other passengers uncomfortable.
Krystal searched Southwest's website and never found anything about the hefty fee for overweight passengers. And while there are signs explaining just about everything at the Southwest ticket counter, the policy regarding overweight passengers isn't posted anywhere.
A spokesperson for the airline says the policy is on Southwest's website and affects less than 1 percent of their customers. Still, Krystal says the airline needs to more upfront about the fee, so other overweight passengers don't have to be embarrassed.
Southwest has already offered her a refund. But Krystal says it's not the money -it's the fact that she was treated so badly. She says she'll be flying Frontier from now on.
Is the airline's overweight policy fair?

When travelling major roads here in Central Florida, whether it be I-4, I-95, Beechline, when coming up on exit ramps and a driver sees those large signs hanging over the road way, there's one in bright yellow that says "Exit Only" whether it be in the far right lane or far left lane. What does that mean? Does it mean it's the only exit for that particular direction and that lane doesn't end. I think not. The sign means you must exit, but I guess people need to have it spelled out for them. I was on I-4 earlier today and I was in the 3rd right lane of 4 lanes and almost got taken out because the driver that was suppose to exit at the last second decided to switch lanes into the lane I was in. It wasn't like he didn't have enough time to make his mind up. There were two signs over the road indicating this, exit only with an arrow below it. I guess people now days are oblivious to things beyond the boundries of their vehicles. The driver of this vehicle did have Orange County tags on his vehicle. Needless to say, I was just a bit ticked off because I have no idea how the driver behind me kept from rear ending me. But I see this just about every day.

Over the past two
weeks, gas prices have gone down more than $0.42. So, we want to know if you
have changed any of your spending habits. Now that the price at the pump isn't
as wallet wrenching, do you plan on driving to visit your relatives this
holiday season? Or, are you buying gas conservatively?

I think not.. I'm talking about those signs on I-4 between Maitland Blvd and OBT....(The ones with speed limits of 50 mph)...
As far as I know, no one is following the 50 mph speed limit and still breezing by at 70 mph.
I believe they implemented the signs to eliminate traffic problems during rush hour... I really haven't seen too much alleviation of the traffic problem on I-4..
What do you think?

Yesterday, on my way home from picking my youngest daughter up from school, I noticed this guy TRIPPING up the sidewalk. That's right, TRIPPING! Every couple of steps he took, he tripped! Well, it wasn't hard to see why. The pants he had on looked like they were made for someone 20 times his size. He was holding one side of his pants up with one hand, and the other was swinging freely. I couldn't resist. I slowed down, rolled down my window, and as I pulled up beside him, I yelled at the top of my lungs, "PULL YOUR PANTS UP!" He jumped about 2 feet off the ground, threw BOTH hands in the air, and when he did, his pants fell down around his ankles! About that same time, a lady coming the other way saw him, skidded her car to a stop, rolled her passenger window down, and screamed, "William! What's wrong with you? Pull those pants up, and get home! Wait until I call your Momma!" As he was pulling his pants up, I was TRYING to drive away, and see through the tears of hysteria that were streaming down my face, the woman rolled down her driver's side window, and said to me, "Now that's a damned shame! A grown boy standing on the sidewalk like that!" It was ALL I could do to keep from wetting my pants on the way home. I thought Florida was going to have something about the "Baggy Pants Ordinance" on the ballots this year. It would be a good idea, before somebody causes a wreck!

I was in Leesburg yesterday and saw 2.21, in Sanford its 2.42, and in Deltona, It's 2.59! That was the lowest I saw yesterday in the northern counties! Why is Volusia county so much more then Lake county? Volusia county adds a 5% tax of the overall price. All three cities I mentioned are less then 40 miles apart I think there is something going on there. Maybe something FOX35 should look into.

First of all, I didn't know the first thing about "hacking" or anything else until this situation arose.
I DID NOT HAVE ACCESS to anyone's complete IP address. What I had looked like this: 11 22 33 444 XXXX (however many numbers) , last four numbers gone.
I felt that someone had malicious intentions towards me and other bloggers. By the way, there is someone you should be looking very closely at on the FOX blog. NOT ME or anyone else involved in this.
My intent was to compare these numbers, even though they weren't complete, to try to determine who was after me.
The EXCEL BS came into play because PREVIOUSLY, I had made fun of myself, as I have no knowledge of EXCEL whatsoever, except to do statistics. As a matter of fact, I joked that I planned to take that class my last quarter before I graduate because I am so inept.
Funny thing is, just after you posted your first allegations against me, MY computer was hacked. Someone still has access to my Yahoo screen name and messenger, though I've been changing my password 2 and 3 times daily. LIKE I SAID, there is a nasty on the BLOG (I know this for a fact) that needs to be looked into.
I don't know what you think "we" were trying to "get away" with. There were no malicious intentions, I assure you.
Also, you made mention of me having multiple screen names...I think, forgive me if I'm wrong (too many allegations from too many people). That is false. If I have something to say, I say it. Don't need to hide.
I've learned my lesson. I'll let others take care of things for me from now on. Computer guru friend is more than happy to do it for me, I now know, and since he's more knowledgeable, NEXT TIME, whoever it is will really be caught.
I'm not a stupid person, either. Nobody put me up to anything, I'm not gullible enough to be "used", especially by someone I don't even know. What I did was on my own accord. HOWEVER, like I said, lesson learned. I didn't mean any harm, didn't do any harm.
NOW, I don't have any control over what your next step will be.
However, I know, for a fact, that there is nothing on my hard drive
that would incriminate me in ANY way. I hope you will at least take into consideration what I've said. I've got no reason to lie, because I did nothing wrong. The only thing I feel like I need to apologize for is my ignorance...live and learn, right?

Thank goodness at least the gas is coming down on price but what about everything that was raised now due to the increased pricing of fuel! Will prices of everything else effected by the economy start also coming down? A pondering question left to be answered!!!
But as a little reminder...please don't forget what happened and don't let this change much of your driving habits you have had to learn how to do! Use this knowledge to keep things going as it may gradually get better and better by everyone using what we have learned and make it work for us for a change! This effect on gas prices has to be from people being conservitive! WE did it with the help of Mother Nature and her not slamming us with Hurricanes this year so take advantage of the good that is now showing and work with it...not against it and gets us right back to where we were! Let's keep that within our history and past and work forward as the wiser!!! We my have another chance at this so don't waste it! Let's get America BACK!!! Let's Show Our Government just how truly little they are!
Save the FUEL! Put things RIGHT AMERICA! WE Can Do this!!! Everything went haywire with the rise of prices...now we have the chance to keep it going our way and all we needed was that relief with fuel prices and we all worked hard to fight through it so why not take advantage of the very thing that was a big part of bringing us down! United We Stand! Use what we have all started learning and have learned on what is needed to make things right! Let's really make the Greedy look bad and stand out, then bring them down! With all of the money that the government has spent on the cameras and speed detectors along I95, Why are they not using them? I travel I95 almost every day and I travel at the posted speed limit. Most of the cars pass me and I would dare say many of them are traveling 80 to 90 MPH down the road. I have seen several accidents caused by this excessive speed. Now get those cameras going and send ALL people a ticket in the mail. Even "out of staters" license are registered in their state. Also in Canada. Get some tickets going to these people. The speed laws are not followed one bit. And also going that fast the fuel efficiency is way down and the people complain about the cost of gasoline. It seams as if the laws of this country are only made to be broken (By almost everybody

Actually, his name is
T. Boone Pickens and you’ve probably seen his commercial about using
Liquefied Natural Gas (CNG) in our cars, which costs about
$2.00/gal. Cars can be easily converted, it increases horsepower, it’s very clean, and it’s AMERICAN (Plus you can toss all the emissions junk in the trash). We have TONS of it in Shale Basins. It’s OLD technology. There are 8 Million vehicles running on it now including cars, trucks, & busses. Disney, Yellowstone, and some City Busses use it continuously.
Note that his plan does NOT require increased use of CNG, just shifting what we already use in Power Plants to Cars (see the video at the link below – short and interesting).
NOTE: You don’t have to give e-mail & zip (but you can to support it). Just click the “Already Registered” link if you don’t want to give it.
T. BOONE PICKENS PLAN TO DUMP MID-EAST OIL
When I first saw his commercial, I thought he was some nutty Texan running for some office. Turns out, he’s a self-made Texas Oil Billionaire who’s old now, has made his money, and now is interested in helping America unhitch from Middle East Oil. On LENO last week he explained it all. No politics, nothing complicated, just a simple idea we can do now.
This will allow us to
DUMP $300 BILLION WORTH – PER YEAR, of Mid-East Oil. Money they use to enrich Uranium and for Nuke development (or possibly to Buy them from Russia, China, N. Korea, Pakistan) to kill us with. It’s probably a good idea to stop giving them our money.

A lot of trailer trucks seem to be getting into accidents in the recent past.
I have over the last 3 years been noticing these guys drive these big rigs like sports cars.
My Dad drove for 40 years and my brother has been driving for almost 20. I understand what they are up against but the driving habits seem very dangerous to me.
Has anyone else noticed the anger and agression some of the guys/gals are driving with?
Why do the police not crack down.
I had a guy running me off the Bee Line last week. He was driving about 85 MPH.
All of a sudden I went by him and he was doing below the speed limit. LO and behold a few miles later there is a police car on the side of the road.
So these guys help each other with C'B communications.
more people are going to suffer.

IS it just me? I consider myself a safe driver. It's even on my driver's license.
I have notices something, and some of you women are not going to like, and maybe you are not part of this group. But if you are, I hope you change your ways.
Women + SUV's equals BAD IDEA.
More often than no, in my unscientific personal poll, I notice that women are more careless about their driving when in an SUV than men. Regardless of what the statistics are on ACCIDENTS. They are aggressive, weaving in and out of traffic while talking on the cell phone, doing their nails, plucking their eyebrows and shaving their pits. They do not pay attention to the road like they should. They speed and follow way to close.
I know some will be offended by this, but I don't really care. Women should not be allowed to have drivers licenses. They should stay barefoot and pregnant. After all, they ARE the weaker gender.

In two weeks up and running, the city is reporting it has caught more than 1,200 red -light runners and at least 16 repeat offenders.
That's from seven different city locations, most blowing through the red light at Vineland and Conroy near Mall of Millenia.
Many drivers I talked to say they think the cameras will keep people from running red lights by making them pay a hefty fine.
Others say it doesn't matter, if a driver wants to break the law he or she will do it regardless of who is watching.
What do you think?
Are the red-light cameras going to make those seven intersections safer or will there always be offenders who don't give a hoot what they get caught doing?

I am a careful driver. I look out for other traffic, including motorcycles.
The other day I was driving down SR 50. I was cut off by a motor cycle and had to slam on my brakes. It happened so quick, I was doing the legal speed limit, and he just cut right in and slowed down very quickly. I had little time to prepare. This motorcyclist was putting his life in danger by driving so stupid. What if I couldn't stop in time?
While most motorcyclists are cautious, knowing that some people in larger vehicles are not as careful as I might be, some think it is necessary to Hot Dog it in heavy traffic, riding between lanes, cutting people off, hot rodding, and in the meantime putting peoples lives in danger, especially their own.
Just yesterday a motorcyclist was killed after a picup truck hit him not far from where I live. The report said that he was not wearing a helmet. Knowing how stupid other people drive, especially when it comes to encountering motorcycles, doesn't it make sense to wear a helmet.? Not that it would save their lives anyway, but it could help.
I have been considering buying a motorcyle or scooter, but stupidity goes both ways on the road, and now I think I'll stick with the gas guzzler.
Now if we could get the semis that hog the road and ride up your butt to be more careful.

13 of 24 Road Rangers were given pink slips this week, effective mid Sept due to budget cuts.
You may have never used them, but they have probably helped you. When you DIDN'T hit that retread left in the middle lane of I-4 in the dark, it's probably because a Road Ranger had already cleared it. When you DIDN'T hit that traffic backup on I-4, maybe it was because the Road Rangers had been on the scene helping clear the scene and direct traffic before you got there.
Road Rangers are in a way, like cops or firemen....you seldom think about them until you need them!!!
So next time you have to go out of town and the wife breaks down on I-4, and AAA has a 2 hour wait, think about how much safer she would have been had a Road Ranger been nearby to help!!

Gas mix with ethanol seems to be failing among consumers! Things have been happening shortly following the 10% ethanol being added to the fuel mixture and people are getting frustrated because…
…they are paying the same amount per gallon.
…it costs consumers even more in the when they need to make more fill up’s.
…their vehicle performance does not give that 100% needed.
…they are getting lesser gas mileage out from it but paying the same price of regular non-mixed fuel.
Shouldn’t the price differences have started to show after those who post the 10% Ethanol warning?
And if the mixed fuel is priced the same of the non-mix, then it would be better invested towards the non-mix fuel for better mileage for your vehicle. So where exactly does the better quality savings really stand?
