What the, oel I just heard about this, I think that every one of these "executives" should be sued by the public for falsifying the fact that they needed a emergency "bailout" to pay for their party.
So the next time your government cries "wolf", do not be a sucker and buy it. If they would confiscate that one CEO's 4.8 million and offer programs to the homeless due to foreclosures by these theives, then justice would be served.
This is government abusing the people of their country, abusing their power. This cr-p is just making me furious, and to think that Bush threatened "marshal law" for this to take place. They think it is just a game that people are forced to sleep in parks, in tents, in shelters, in the streets, they are just playing with people's lives. This is a disgusting government and they are just begging for Anarchy. Bush should be impeached, he robbed the Americans so that AIG executives could have personal gain, the whole bunch congress, all of them have robbed the Americans, abused their power. IMPEACH BUSH for threatening the American people and robbing them.
Come on people this type of government is no different from any other country the US has interveined upon when corruption ruled.
Who do they think they are "marshal law", for this. Bush better hide, under a rock.
WASHINGTON -- Days after it got a federal bailout, American International Group Inc. spent $440,000 on a posh California retreat for its executives, complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings, according to lawmakers investigating the company's meltdown.
AIG sent its executives to the coastal St. Regis resort south of Los Angeles even as the company tapped into an $85 billion loan from the government it needed to stave off bankruptcy. The resort tab included $23,380 worth of spa treatments for AIG employees, according to invoices the resort turned over to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The retreat didn't include anyone from the financial products division that nearly drove AIG under, but lawmakers still were enraged over thousands of dollars spent on outing for executives of AIG's main U.S. life insurance subsidiary.
"Average Americans are suffering economically. They're losing their jobs, their homes and their health insurance," the committee's chairman, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., scolded the company during a lengthy opening statement at a hearing Tuesday. "Yet less than one week after the taxpayers rescued AIG, company executives could be found wining and dining at one of the most exclusive resorts in the nation."
Former AIG CEO Robert Willumstad, who lost his job a day after the Federal Reserve put up the $85 billion on Sept. 16, said he was not familiar with the conference and would not have gone along with it.
"It seems very inappropriate," Willumstad said in response to questioning from Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md.
"Those executives should be fired," Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama said at a debate with Sen. John McCain on Tuesday, referring to the retreat participants. Obama also said AIG should give the Treasury $440,000 to cover the costs of the retreat.
But Eric Dinallo, superintendent of the New York State Insurance Department, said he could see the value of such a retreat under the circumstances.
"Having been at large global companies and knowing what condition AIG was in ... the absolute worst thing that could have happened" would have been for employees and underwriters in its life insurance subsidiary to flee the company.
"I do agree there is some profligate spending there, but the concept of bringing all the major employees together ... to ensure that the $85 billion could be as greatly as possible paid back would have been not a crazy corporate decision," Dinallo told the House committee.
The hearing disclosed that AIG executives hid the full range of its risky financial products from auditors as losses mounted, according to documents released by the committee, which is examining the chain of events that forced the government to bail out the conglomerate.
The panel sharply criticized AIG's former top executives, who cast blame on each other for the company's financial woes.
"You have cost my constituents and the taxpayers of this country $85 billion and run into the ground one of the most respected insurance companies in the history of our country," said Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y. "You were just gambling billions, possibly trillions of dollars."
AIG, crippled by huge losses linked to mortgage defaults, was forced last month to accept the $85 billion government loan that gives the U.S. the right to an 80 percent stake in the company.
Waxman unveiled documents showing AIG executives hid the full extent of the firm's risky financial products from auditors, both outside and inside the firm, as losses mounted.
For instance, federal regulators at the Office of Thrift Supervision warned in March that "corporate oversight of AIG Financial Products ... lack critical elements of independence." At the same time, PricewaterhouseCoopers confidentially warned the company that the "root cause" of its mounting problems was denying internal overseers in charge of limiting AIG's exposure access to what was going on in its highly leveraged financial products branch.
Waxman also released testimony from former AIG auditor Joseph St. Denis, who resigned after being blocked from giving his input on how the firm estimated its liabilities.
Three former AIG executives were summoned to appear before the hearing. One of them, Maurice "Hank" Greenberg -- who ran AIG for 38 years until 2005 -- canceled his appearance citing illness but submitted prepared testimony. In it, he blamed the company's financial woes on his successors, former CEOs Martin Sullivan and Willumstad.
"When I left AIG, the company operated in 130 countries and employed approximately 92,000 people," Greenberg said. "Today, the company we built up over almost four decades has been virtually destroyed."
Sullivan and Willumstad, in turn, cast much of the blame on accounting rules that forced AIG to take tens of billions of dollars in losses stemming from exposure to toxic mortgage-related securities.
Lawmakers also upbraided Sullivan, who ran the firm from 2005 until June of this year, for urging AIG's board of directors to waive pay guidelines to win a $5 million bonus for 2007 -- even as the company lost $5 billion in the 4th quarter of that year. Sullivan countered that he was mainly concerned with helping other senior executives.

is this site turning into a my space? Please do somethiing different with that BS! I don't see why we have to turn our sound off when we visit the news blog be cause of that annoying (clump) sound we have to listen to evrytime someone post on that stupid non news blog," which is every second" please think about the other bloggers who would like to blog and have to listen to some stupid chat room. I am sure I am not the only one who this annoys.
The debate went well for both McCain and Obama. Attacks during the debate, were not as prevalent as recent ads might have indicated. McCain threw some punches, but Obama came back strong and drove his message home. Obama seemed to be more specific about how he plans to correct the problems facing American families.
Obama is determined to fight for the middle class working people, where McCain stated he plans to give tax breaks to everyone, including the most wealthy.
Obama was also clearly in favor of renewing relations with our allies to more effectively deal with problems in Pakistan, Iran, and other countries. I believe Obama won this debate.
I am watching the debate and notice by flipping channels that there seems to be a delay on cnn compared to nbc!!
So far I have not seen a lot of substance rather another back and forth squabbling on both
The issues are repetitive and nothing seems to happen Tom Brokaw tried to control the time but they keep on repeating their ideas.
I went to the cnn site but couldn't find the place to reply or respond to the debate.
3 questions came from the internet but I did not hear or maybe I wasn't listening close enough but it appeared to me that the men are talking around the issues.
It seems like nitpicking is going on.
Too bad we have to watch such drivel from both sides hemming and hawing.
Tax cuts are the issue but how can we decide what to believe the cuts will effect and
When will they be started in 2 years or more?
I expected more interaction from the audience and the internet bujt Tom Brokaw has more to say than the audience.
The price of gas is rising in some locations, yet in many cities in Orlando Florida, they continue to decline. Why are some companies able to charge one price, often being considerably higher? The other day as I drove down 17-92 in Seminole County, there was a gas station with the price of 3.24 a gallon. Meanwhile at 7-eleven just 2 blocks away was sporting a 3.59 gallon price.
As you can imagine, the cheaper priced station was backed up into the streets.
Also, what is the regulation for this sort of thing? The complaints come in after every approaching storm or just after a storm surge that the prices are being elevated to meet the economies needs as well as any delay that may derive from the oil plants. However, there is no storm approaching, yet some stations boast a friendly price for their consumers.
A butterfly, That's what many people think of when they see Shay Harris. She is springing forward and is handling the job well.
It is a wonderful thing to see an intelligent African American woman, in such a professional light. Especially saying so, for the state of Florida., Many young girls will be inspired to see her face over the televsion screen in many homes.
Thank you Fox for allowing a woman of color to be truly recognized.
Shay Harris is a beautiful person with a remarkable personality. It shows through in her stories.
Here is something that Joe Blow America seems to forget.
We always blame the economic hard times on the current president.
THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS
Every president inherits the problems and reaps the benefits of the PREVIOUS administration. Yes, each president may bring their own set of problems in when they take office, but those pale in comparison to what they "inherit".
We all know that whoever is elected president will inherit a broken economy. But do not blame it all on George Bush. 9/11 had a great deal to do with it, as did former President Clinton with his wasteful spending.
When Reagan was president, he reaped the benefits of a thrifty and frugal Carter Administration. Grant it, Carter today is a looney toon, he did have great ideas for this country until 9 months into his own administration, when he was wounded by standing behind an adviser who had done some questionable things. From then on, even the democrats kaputted Carter because he would not play by their rules. But all in all, it was not entirely the economics of Ronald Reagan that brought us any kind of wealth. In fact, 6 years into Reagan's presidency we began to see a downturn in the economy, that would be inherited by Bush 41.
When Clinton was president, he was reaping the benefits of Bush 41. Six years into his presidency, things began to plateau, a direct result of wasteful spending.
Then comes Bush 43 who has to not only take on the repercussions of a wasteful Clinton Administration (what really happened to the surplus anyway?), but within 9 months of taking office has to deal with the WTC Flight Bombings.
While I don't partiuclarly care for the current president, he is not responsible for all that has failed in our economy. Much of the deregulation that Wall Street enjoyed happened on Clinton's watch.
Any recovery or emergence from a recession in the next administration will be directly the result of the actions of the prior. That is how it works. That is how it always works.
Here in lies the problem: Too many people are too stupid to figure it out.
Grandma can you hear me? Do you want me to come home? IF you do then help them out So I won't be alone.
Grandma do you realize Why people hate you so? It's because you protect HER when, I couldn't run and had no place to go!
Grandma it's also true, That you and my Grandpa, too... Have made a mockery of the publics crys... And stood behind my Mommy's lies!
Grandma they see your anger And they see your pain, But YOU throw out their good faith and prayers, And call them nasty names!
And if they get a bit crazy, It's because YOU won't stand up for me. Grandma can't you understand, Why don't you really see???
Grandma, I just don't understand How my family can act this way! Uncle Lee and Mommy high-fived At the courthouse the other day!
Grandma, I think "that" gesture should have been saved for me, On a day when I was found, And came home to stay... permenantly!
Grandma, why is Mommy silent, As you and Grandpa stand by her side? How can you stand it... You know how Mommy has always lied~!!!
The world loves me, Grandma... You can believe it's true! They search and say prayers... And love little me... maybe more than you!
So if you love me Grandma, Open your mouth and let it out... Don't let anything stop you, Just tell what it's all about~!!!
Grandma if you want me home... You've got to tell it all~!!! You've got to cry and forget her lies, Because I deserve for her to fall~!!!
I'll be with you Grandma, And you will feel me with your heart, You've got to help and bring me home, Now it's time for you to do your part... JUST DO IT~!!!
So Orange Co. now has some 25 Million bucks to spend on purchasing foreclosed homes, and then cleaning them up, installing energy efficient appliances, and reselling them to qualified low income people.
You must make no more than $71K a year in income. (yea.. define income) and you get to purchase the homes valued from 100 to 200K.
When county commissioners were asked how they plan on making sure people trying to make a quick buck won't buy them up, their answer according to FOX35 is nobody making more than $71K a year can purchase.
Hey.. I know lots of rich senior folks that TECHNICALLY make less than 71K a year, but have MILLIONS in portfolio and assets!
So if I get this right... most of these homes are vacant because others unable to pay the mortgage lost them, so now the COUNTY is going to come in purchase them, bring in new appliances,(Yea.. who gets that contract?) and then turn them around for the price they acquired them plus the work? INSTEAD of letting the market heel itself?
How is this any different than the first bunch that owned them? What happens when this new owner defaluts? Is the city going to foreclose or just continue to let them ride?
I keep hearing people say that investing over the long haul in the stock markets is still the best way to pad your retirement. I have never been one to put too much faith in the stock market. It IS a gamblers market, and if the forecasts on the market from 7 years ago were indication, I saw this coming. People still kept all their eggs in one big basket. They did not listen. Now, they are losing, and some have totally lost their retirements. Now, they are crying. Too bad!
Here's the deal, they could have done the smart thing and moved stuff around, even taken out some cash to get a boob job. But they didn't. They kept it in the stock market, and now the market is tumbling. It will go down below 8,000 before it begins to recover. I guarantee it.
7 years ago, after 9/11, analysts (that word starts with the word anal) predicted that the market would continue to rise at never heard of rates, but that the BUBBLE would burst too. They predicted that money was becoming too easy to borrow, and that people were already defaulting.
Why is any of this a surprise? I'll tell you why. Some people just choose to be stupid. Stupid about money management. Stupid about investing. Stupid about just about anything.
NEWSFLASH: You DON'T Have TO Remain Stupid. Being STUPID IS A CHOICE

OVERVIEW OF CINDY ANTHONY INTERVIEW TAKEN 8/4/08-by Cappuccino
Cindy began the interview talking on phone with FBI, she’s complaining she needs someone to pay attention & look for Caylee. Talked about a sighting of a couple that she insists sat across from Caylee in a restaurant on the 21st (she called local authorities). Discusses Georgia tips & Cindy is steering the conversation. She accuses investigators of being unprofessional because they met a lady & her son at a McDonald’s to do a sketch (airport sighting-turned out to be false). She then says she got an email from someone that they saw Caylee in PA at a park and called park security and 911. Cindy claims the dispatcher said they “had reason to believe this child is dead“ and then told investigators “This is BLEEP, and I‘m gonna say BLEEP that the public has out there and you wonder why we are so frustrated.” She then proceeds to tongue lash the investigators. She said this was last Sat (the interview was 8/4).
Investigator tries to get her back on timeline discussion, reminding her that he was frustrated with the Tampa story knowing it was a lie but there has to be some truth somewhere in what Casey is saying. They pick up on the timeline & Cindy states that they stayed over one more night until Zani got out of hospital. Cindy didn’t know what make the car was that reportedly got totaled but Casey was very specific to say the replacement was a silver 2008 Ford Focus (yea right). Casey didn’t tell Cindy anything about running out of gas. Investigator asks about car being abandoned at Amscot, Cindy asks if there was anything left on the car because Casey said she put a note on the car.
Casey told her that she stayed with Jeff Hopkins the 27th thru the 30th. Cindy says that Casey had Jeff on her phone as her current boyfriend. Cindy said that Casey told her that Zani was with her and Jeff on the 28th despite her concussion so they could all reminisce (you cant write this stuff!). The 30th Jennifer was watching Caylee, took her to the park while Casey was working. Cindy admits that Casey seemed to have difficulty talking to her about Caylee so she started texting Cindy more. Cindy went to Universal to search for Casey & Caylee. Cindy talked to Casey a few times on the 4th of July because Cindy wanted to know if she was going to be able to take Caylee to go see fireworks. Casey gave her the run around & said that she was staying with Jeff because “they were trying to work out things out to be family”. Casey told her mother that Jeff may have been moving back to Orlando and that they would be living together. Cindy added that she wasn’t sure Jeff was “an actual person.” Jeff was supposed to follow Casey back to Orlando. His mother was reportedly getting married on the 13th. No, excuse why she didn’t talk to her on the 14th.
NOTE:
Cindy for the first time tells investigators that she & George parked Casey’s car in the garage, opened everything up, took the battery out of Casey’s car stating “just in case someone came home and tried to get the car, ya never know”. Investigator asked her what she meant and she said she didn’t want to speculate but that was their thought. Cindy said when she got home from work approx 5:30-6PM she found Amy’s phone number up front with her keys and purse (conflicts with original story that she found it on a resume in the glove box). O Cindy said at first Amy and her were going to meet somewhere but she offered to pick her up “at the airport, I mean, the mall’ but after Amy made a phone call she called back to tell Cindy to pick her up at the mall.
Cindy eludes Amy & Ricardo are being dishonest. Ricardo told her Casey stayed with them until the 8th - Ricardo went to Baltimore but it is her “understanding” that Amy, Ricardo & Troy all took different flights to Puerto Rico (corey voice message?). They were all booked by Casey on her computer. Casey never booked a flight. Cindy then tries to implicate Ricardo, Amy & Troy of having a odd reason for taking different flights “I find it odd”. Detectives tell Cindy Ricardo took another flight due to coming in from Baltimore, Amy tried to coordinate but Troy had a work conflict.
Detectives tell Cindy that when Lee found the laptop at Tony’s everything was wiped clean from the 15th of June on. Cindy then eludes “well all that stuff was sitting at that apartment” from the time she picked up Casey until Lee picked up Casey’s stuff, yet again trying to pin the laptop being tampered with by anyone but Casey. Lee picked up two bags of clothes, no Caylee clothes. Caylee’s backpack in the car only had diapers, a toothbrush, maybe a few wipes.
Cindy said her JC Penny and Sears card were in Casey’s belongings, receipts and cash.
Cindy said she told the female officer “Do you mind if I keep the cash (laughs) it might pay for something back….” Cindy claims she doesn’t know how much cash it was, Lee said it was $160 and $220. Cindy said she didn’t think it was more than $200. Casey’s work bag was in the car, pair of pants, boots & shoes in the backseat. She claims she asked the female officers if they wanted any of the clothes but they were smoky so she wanted to wash them. She already had washed the gray pants because they were nasty. Cindy said “everything took the smell of the car.” Caylee’s baby doll was left in the car and taken with a few other items. Detectives asked her for the pants. Cindy talks about a media circus when they came for the cans, insinuates they could have brought them to avoid that.
Cindy then states that the Saturday the 19th “after all of this happened someone went thru all of her stuff and there was only one person that I know that could have done that” and the detectives ask her who, she says “Jesse, went on my computer to access phone records and he happened to walk by Casey’s room to get to where the computer’s at.” Cindy tells detective that she went to pick up flyers, she came back and Annie (Casey’s friend) was at the house & it was Cindy’s idea to get some of Casey’s friends together at the house to talk. When they came back Jesse & Lee were at the house so she discussed getting people together to do a timeline, mentions Sean Daly’s friend did Casey’s tattoo. Cindy claims that Jesse said “Mrs Anthony I want to be in charge of the timeline” and Cindy told him no but he could interject his information. She states that he pushed it further to say “Well, I really want to participate.” She said that she spent two hours with Jesse.
NOTE: She is trying to pin something on Jesse.
She is questioning that he said he was “losing” his job with OPD versus that he quit & questioned an 18 min call he had with Casey. Jesse told her he asked about Caylee. Casey told him she was with the nanny at the beach. Cindy keeps pushing that he made an error with the date he talked to Casey. Cindy clearly states again that she was suspicious. She said he got upset when she “shot him down about the time line” and that it was “very strange behavior.” Cindy says that Jesse from the 21st on went to Georgia.
Cindy mentions Melina and that they should talk to her. Reportedly Jesse & Melina got together for awhile. Cindy accuses Jesse of “really reaching out” to Annie & Melina and accused Cindy & George of “turning his name into the police” and having words with him about it. Cindy then mentions Lauren Gibbs used to babysit Caylee but there is another Lauren that reportedly introduced Ricardo and Amy to Casey about a year ago. Cindy seems to rely on Annie a lot and discusses again that Annie knows about “Caylee’s dad was killed in a car crash.”
The detective discuss her frustrations with people having preconceived notions but that they take their time. Cindy tries to vent & then states “yea you were off do other things trying to build a case against Casey, Casey may be a liar but she did not murder her daughter.” One of the detectives says “well we are taking the facts where they lead us.” Cindy continues to complain that they are doing Caylee an injustice.
Cindy once again points to Ricardo & Amy asking the detectives “why do you think Casey took you to Glenwood, who lives in that complex, Ricardo & Amy live there in that complex.” Cindy continues, “if she was stepping back enough, you know everyone can speculate or whatever, I think Casey got mixed up with some bad people, Ricardo, Amy and Tony. So let’s just learn they’re all intertwined, they’re all into drugs, we’ve talked to another agency, they’re all into drugs, they all know each other very well. And for Amy telling me that she’s only been to Tony’s once has to be a lie because she knows them. Amy is the one who introduced, and Tony and Ricardo go way back, there’s some dealings there. So Casey’s mixed up somehow, so and they have the money and means and Casey’s been maintaining all along that they’re a physical threat against the family or harm to if she comes clean if she tells where Caylee’s at so…” She then states, “I don’t know if they’re, my understanding is these folks have some connections, with some people that have money, have way of having people disappear, has means to threaten and Casey’s scared I can see it in her face, she’s scared. She’s been trying to give us clues, I’ve been saying it since day one, for us to figure it out without coming right out… “ Cindy then states that she could have “Casey out of jail today I want you to know, that the bail money is not an issue, I’m telling you that right now I have people that can help me. I think it’s a safety issue for both Casey and Caylee by keeping her BLEEP there for right now until we figure some stuff out, because if the media and everyone are still pointing fingers at Casey everybody else is okay. SO if we get off our butt and we keep looking for these people, I’m just saying me, Lee or whoever I’m not saying just you guys., start looking at some of these issues, other possibilities we’re gonna find who these people are & we‘re gonna find Caylee.”
NOTE: Is this retilation becasue Amy filed charges against Casey?
The detectives tell Cindy they have invited other people to look at other case scenarios, looking at phone records, possible drug connections anything that has bells and whistles. Cindy keeps bringing up that she is working with “another agency”. Detectives warn her that the agency should be contacting them so they are on the same page basically, she didn’t have much to say to that. They ask her again to bring in the gray pants & anything else that she removed from the car. She accusing someone of taking an ID of Casey’s the evening of the 15th.
Cindy volunteers to speak for Jose Baez, Casey’s attorney about obtaining the tape of the airport regarding if Caylee was seen. The detective tells her he needs to speak to Yuri Melich, Cindy claims he did. She confronts them as to why they wont give it to him saying he was told it is evidence…well duh! Cindy said “what’s the deal with that?” Detectives are trying to conclude the interview. Cindy questions if they are releasing evidence because its on TV, she asks that she not hear stuff on TV and they tell her (in other words she’s trying to control what is put out there). Cindy then confronts them about the cadaver dogs, she is questioning them trying to gain information to defend Casey. Cindy is then asked to raise her right hand, and she says “I didn’t know I was swearing in, to the best of my ability this is what I remember I didn’t know this was a deposition. I didn’t do this Friday, I‘m just putting it out there guys.” ...overview done by capp 9/7/08
How are they dismissing Tony Lazarro from this case scenario?
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Executives at American International Group Inc. hid the full range of its risky financial products from auditors as losses mounted, according to documents released Tuesday by a congressional panel examining the chain of events that forced the government to bail out the conglomerate. "You were just gambling billions, possibly trillions of dollars." AIG, crippled by huge losses linked to mortgage defaults, was forced last month to accept an $85 billion government loan that gives the U.S. an 80 percent stake in the company. House Oversight Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., unveiled documents showing AIG executives hid the full extent of the firm's risky financial products from auditors, both outside and inside the firm, as losses mounted.
What do you make of all of this? What's your greatest concern at this point?
OK...I guess I missed the memo...but exactly WHEN did a cell phone become a necessity, and not a luxury, that MY tax money is paying for so someone can have one????
I saw a commercial for SafeLink Wireless, advertisinig FREE CELL PHONES for if you are low-income, receive SSI, food stamps, etc. I checked out the website, and sure enough, there it is!!! You and I get to pay for cell phones for others!!!
So again, exactly when did they become a necessity????? We already provide housing, give them tax refunds when they don't pay taxes (earned income credit), welfare checks, etc, etc, etc....So when does it stop????? Tennessee and Florida are the first states to provide this, with more being added.
Don't get me wrong...I don't mind giving a hand up (not a handout like the Libs enjoy), but really, WHEN DOES IT STOP??? I know hard working people that don't have/can't afford cell phones, yet their taxes are now paying for others to have them!!!!
I suppose this question seems odd to some. By asking the question I wonder if i am living up to the expectations I have for myself but mostly in the eyes of my own grandbaby.
I invite you all to share your thoughts.
Do you live far away from your grandchildren but have found a way to still stay close to them?
Are you raising your grandchildren?
Do you wish you were closer emotionally to your grandchildren ?
Caylee Marie Anthony was first reported missing on July 15, over 30 days after she first disappeared.
Casey Anthony, mother of the missing 3-year-old toddler, says she left Caylee in the care of a babysitter, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez. However, investigators in the case say they haven't been able to determine that this person exists.
Casey was taken into custody on July 16, charged with child neglect, making false statements and obstructing an investigation. Her bond was set at $500,200. She was bonded out by a California bounty hunter on August 21.
On Friday, August 28, she was re-arrested for uttering a forged instrument, fraudulent use of personal information and petit theft. The bounty hunter that first posted her bond rescinded his offer, making it virtually impossible for her to be released on a $503,200 bond with her additional $3,000 bond on new charges.
Orange County officers filed additional check fraud and theft charges, and say they plan to charge Casey with more economic crimes in the future.
Casey was released for a second time Friday, September 5 after an anonymous person or group fronted her bond. She was escorted out of the jail by her attorney, Jose Baez, and two bodyguards.
She was arrested for a third time Monday, September 15 on new check fraud and theft charges. Casey was released shortly after on a $1,250 bond and was again escorted out of jail by her attorney and two bodyguards.

I was talking to a banker today about the increase in the limits of accounts covered by FDIC from $100K to $250K per depositor and was surprised to learn that it is only a TEMPORARY CHANGE!!
The increase will revert to $100K after December 31, 2009.
Once again our government has been at work to hoodwink the public. On the other hand, maybe they are counting on the middle class being too poor by that time to even care about the FDIC account limits.
You might want to thank the members of Congress who voted for the bail-out bill and President Bush who signed it into law.
Funny as this article points out, during the President George H.W. Bush second run the DEMOCRATS demanded a financial investigation into Weinberger to the extend that place the federal government on a slow down thanks to the ridiculous claims, with it clinton and gore stole th election. Now when an analyst in the Federal Elections Committee has shown prove of illegal acquisition on the obama campaign his bosses (equal from both parties) have decided they don't want to make waves, on top of this the house bit_h pelosi has denied action Fanny Mae or Freddie Mac investigations until after the election in November because they are scare more democrats are going to be found with the money-hands in the panties and the jockey shorts, yes the liberals are always thinking of the poor.
A hit and run in Port Orange leaves two young children in critical condition after the man who hit them ran off. Investigators say they found the man's car abandoned not far from the accident site. I stopped by their home today looking to speak to the parents. There was a nice courtsize basketball goal in the yard where it's obvious the kids play ball together. It's amazing to me how someone can interrupt other people's lives like this; and in worse case scenario, destroy people's lives this way and tuck their tails and run.. How cowardly is this...to hit then run?

Everyone in America has a stake in this election and are free to voice there opinions, but there are times when it can go to far. In this case, I'm speaking of the Sherriff in Clearwater, Florida. This guy, in uniform, decides to stump for Sarah Palin at a rally and in doing so has taken honor away from his office.
I have no gripe with anyone voicing their political opinions but in certain contexts, such as a person in the uniform of public service, it is not only wrong, but disgraceful to the institution.
The police are here to serve and protect all citizens of this country. This Sherriff has simply compromised that, and in some ways has encouraged this constant battle between the uniform and the African-American male.
I will be writing to all the local tv and radio station watch-dog personnel to have this sherriff reprimanded because the confidence in our law enforcement officers has again, been compromised.
