                      A SHORT PRAYER

               FOR OUR TROOPS

I had a dream last night I have not yet decypher its meanings it was gloomy at the beginning but it appeared to have a happy ending as I saw what appeared to be stairways to heaven.

 I couldn't help but to think that our troops are in danger and because they are out there fighting for our freedom my only thought right now is to send this prayer to all of no matter where you are in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq, and around the world or even near home know that each day a prayer is sent to you and your families.....

                         "Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.

                        Protect them as they protect us.

                       Bless them and their families

   for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.

      I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

                                         Amen."

I WILL ALSO TAKE THE TIME TO BLESSED OUR VETS. MAY GOD KEEP THEM SAFE AND ENSURED THEIR HEALTH.  SO MANY ARE NOW PAYING THE DEADLY PRICE OF THEIR SERVICE TO KEEP US SAFE.  I WANT ALL YOU VETS OUT THERE TO KNOW YOU ARE NOT ALONE.  I MAKE IT A POINT TO PUT IN A PRAYER FOR ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE BEEN LEFT ABANDONED BY OUR GOVERNMENT TO AIL IN FAILING HEALTH.  I ASK THAT YOU DO NOT LOSE FAITH AND PRAY THAT HELP WILL REACH YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES IN YOUR MOMENTS OF NEED.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU TOO FOUGHT FOR US AND I PRAY THAT YOU ALL CAN ENJOY NOW YOUR LIVES AS YOU DESERVE.  I WILL BE GETTING VERY INVOLVE IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR ALL YOU MEN/WOMEN.  I SAY YOU ARE A VALUABLE ASSET TO AMERICA BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS;

THANK YOU FOR GIVING YOUR LIVES TO KEEP OURS;

THANK YOU FOR BEING WHO YOU ARE......NO MATTER HOW NEAR OR FAR.

GOD  BLESS YOU ALL BECAUSE EVEN WHEN YOU ARE SENT HOME YOU STILL HAVE TO ENDURE BATTLE IN THE HOME FRONT.  I CAN'T PROMISE ANYTHING BUT KNOW THAT I WILL SOON BECOME AN ADVOCATE FOR YOUR RIGHTS YOU SO MUCH DESERVED AND EARNED.  HAVE A WONDERFUL AND BLESSED DAY

Candy that was beautiful. Hawkeye made a good point, even though I repeatedly thank the people in our service, I tend to forget the families that are going through it as well, because in truth, they are sacrificing a great deal for us along the way. However, it's time I do and will teach my children the same. As ashamed as I feel about this, thanks Candy for pointing out the obvious that should have gone without saying.

We ALL forget sometimes robinn..

There IS no shame in correcting a problem that YOU were unaware of,, there is ONLY shame in IGNORING it..

My dad was in the air force and our family lost him recently. He was eligible for retirement bt decided to stay in and I cant believe the endless amount of paperwork required to get teh benefits due. I am new to the area so any advice would be helpful.

Hawkeye you need not say thank you to me, I would kiss the grounds that you as a vet walk on, but with a heartfelt I say you are very welcome. Robin as hawkeye indicated you need not feel ashamed, you have always recognized all vets but we, as humans and in times of chaos we live in sometimes people tend to forget that the families of these brave soldiers and vets also suffer/suffered the consequences of the very war they fought for or still fighting. Twenty NineHldg my advice to you, as even though my husband is a vet and now the rembrants of vietnam are showing its evil heads, I can tell you go to the VA Hospital in Orlando on Raymond Street and asked someone to direct you to VA MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR VA Benefits (MR. POPE) i stressed VA because the County has also an office they are good people but in my opinion, Mr. Pope is an ASSET TO OUR FAMILIES. I know he will either be able to help directly and/or give you the right place and people to see. WHATEVER you do in my opinion stay away from County representatives, they are good but they work for the County and not the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have learned the best way TO DO IT...IS YOURSELF DIRECTLY WITH VA related departments because they go right to the source. ONE LESS LOOPHOLE. I am deeply sorry for your lost and my deepest condolences to you and your family. DO NOT DESPAIR AND DO NOT GIVE UP, I know we as families go through frustation and despair when that little help is needed. It is sad that these loopholes that one must endured for our loved ones are the very cause THEY ARE FIGHTING OR FOUGHT FOR THIS

(sorry) THEY ARE FIGHTING OR FOUGHT FOR THIS COUNTY, after all without them we would not be here. I hope all goes well and KNOW THAT IT IS A WAITING PROCESS unfortunately, so remember patience is a virtue, take deep breaths and always uphold his memory. I am sure you will find comfort there and hook up with the right people. I am very surprised at how well this hospital is ran (Jersey stunk) and every staff members that I have come in contact ARE ACTUALLY DOING WHAT THEY GET PAID TO DO, A GREAT JOB....hooray finally found a GOVERNMENT OFFICE that truly helps their VETS.

and remember one is never too old to learn SOMETHING NEW. and this is what I want to share and advocate with you and all those that come and read this blog, I have been with my husband for 20 years we have had some wonderful times and build some wonderful memories. However for a long time, I felt and witnessed certain changes. I knew something was not right. I adored him and I am so proud of all of his accomplishments, but as his wife, I am now learning the process (something I should have been educated a long time ago thus it would have made the process easier) and recently learned what I felt a long time ago, is now fully blown. FAMILIES of our soldiers and vets ARE NOT educated on the Federal Benefits for Vets and Dependents which we need to do so immediately and thus prepare the families for events out of our control. I am guilty because we become so busy praying for them THAT WE forget ourselves and I URGE ANY ONE THAT READS THIS BLOG TELL YOUR FAMILES TO GO TO THE NEAREST VA HOSPITAL BECAUSE THERE are OFFICES IN THERE AND GET EDUCATED FOR BETTER OR WORST. So that in events such as yours, TwentyNineNHL you would have your time to grieve and not worry about going through YET ANOTHER more pain. Yes, the wait is long, and it is unfortunate for families but if one is educated before hand than we can act accordinly and now the resource. Be persistent and be ready for your love ones WHEN THEY COME HOME, POW'S, DISABLED AND SADLY Bereavement. You must never ever give up your endeavors no matter how distant they appear, as it took this long for me to learn THAT FOR EACH SO

THAT FOR EACH SOLDIER/VET WE HAVE - THERE ARE ALSO FAMILIES THAT SUFFERS WITH THEM AND/OR THEIR LOSS. God Bless You! and I hope this will be helpful in your process. Best of Luck and again I am deeply sorry for your loss.

You might SAY that as a Vet we need NOT express our appreciation to you but as I have ALWAYS found to be the case and have had it verified by OTHER vets as well,, Without YOU people,,, WHAT the HELL were we fighting for???

you are welcome TwentyNine..yes, please help your mother through this as I am sure she needs your help. I also thought in St. Pete, I believe that's the main office IF YOU CAN GO THERE DIRECTLY. Try Orlando see what happens and if not go directly to the source. It is a very bumpy and uncomfortable ride but BE THANKFUL you have your mother..I wish I had them. Good Luck and keep us posted as it is of interest to me. Hawkeye...you are always deeply appreciated....see the British humor..I blogged??? funny

oh one last note TwentyNine if you can and are able to GO IN PERSON.....phones you will find are irritating and not as functional anymore..since you have to press 1 for this and 2 for that. In person, you will get taking care of appropriately. again good luck

The toughest job in the military is being married to a military man (or woman). Our brave Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airman...and our Seabees may be serving over seas but their heart are still here.

GET EDUCATED PEOPLE. IF YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE IN THE SERVICE I.E. A SPOUSE THEN YOU NEED TO GET EDUCATED and prepared for what's to come or not --- that would be the question. Go to your nearest VA offices and get pamphlets and educational information and be prepared! You never know.......I sure didn't. It is not easy to see your love one very slowly anyways..its just my opinion. I wasn't ready but now I am learning and that's a good thing.
