My opinion of him changed the day he stood up in the UN and lied to justify attacking Iraq.

If in fact this is true, it just proves that he is just as ignorant as everyone else voting for BO or JM.

I really lost respect for Colin Powell when he stood up at the United Nations and sold the case for invading Iraq, but I believe he was duped into believing the intelligence. I regained some respect for him when he stepped down after finding out the truth about the intelligence. I was suspicious of the Bush administration, but I must admit, they fooled me too for awhile. Thus, Colin Powell did the same thing that I did, so how can I hold that against him.

Being enlightened to the fact that the Bush administration is faulty and McCain is following the yellow brick road, what other choice Colin Powell has at this point. He can follow the yellow brick road with John McCain or he can join someone who represents a change in policy. He owes it to himself to exonerate the embarrassment he suffered during his tenure with the Bush administration by making a bold statement in endorsing Obama.

IF COLIN POWELL,WAS RUNNING FOR PRES. I WOULD VOTE FOR HIM,BUT SINCE HE MIGHT BE BACKING "OBAMA" I'VE LOST ALL RESPECT FOR HIM I ALL WAS THOUGHT HE WAS FOR AMERICAN VALUES.
"OBAMA" IS A"ELITIST" "SOCIALIST" AND NON AMERICAN, HE'S FOR "OBAMA", HE HAS NO EXPERIENCE, NO JUDGEMENT, BUT THE MEDIA AND PEOPLE THINKS HE WALKS ON WATER, HE HAS A CHARISMATC AIR ABOUT HIM.
BUT LOOK AT ALL HIS KNOWN ASSO. AND FRIENDS, LOOK AT HIS CLOSE TIES WITH HAMAS, LOOK AT WHAT HE DID IN HIS OWN STATE (NOTHING).
HE CANN'T OR WILL NOT PRODUCE ANYTHING TO PROVE HE'S A CITIZEN OF THE UNITIED STATES,HE REFUSED TO HAVE THE AMERICAN FLAG PLACED BEHIND ALONG OTHER COUNTRIES FLAG WHILE GAVE HIS SPEACH OVER SEAS,HE HAD THE AMERICAN FLAG REMOVED FROM THE TAIL OF HIS PLANE,HE REFUSED TO WEAR THE FLAG,HE DIDN'T SAY HE WAS A CITIZEN OF THE UNITIED STATES HE STATED I'M A CITIZEN OF THE WORLD.HE WANTS THE GOVERNMENT TO CONTROL EVERYTHING AND THAT IS "SOCIALISAM"
I COULD GO ON ON ON. HES DONE NOTHING, HE WILL IF ELECTED HE TAX'S EVERYONE INTO POOR HOUSE.

STIIL PEOPLE WANT HIM FOR PRES. LOOK AT HIS FAMILY IN AFRICA, AND SEE WHAT HIS BROTHER AND COUSIN ARE DOING TO THE PEOPLE THERE, WHICH YOU DON'T HEAR ABOUT NOR DOES THE MEDIA BRING IT UP.

THERE'S A LOT THAT PEOPLE SHOULD DEMAND ANSWERS TO BEFORE YOU PUT HIM IN THE PRES. OFFICE.

Powell's information at the UN was intel that had been collected, and more and more evidence to WMD is showing up daily! Pictures of the same aircraft Powell showed with chem spray units have been found buried in the Iraqi desert to hide them from satallite view! (www.abunaiblog.com check out just 2 of MANY pictures)

Powell has ALWAYS been more "center to left" and had to be brought in for a closed door secession with the White House more than once to remind him of just where he stands. His personal opinions have always been left of thd administrations. He was good at his job when he did JUST his job. I lost respect for Powell when we all had to sit in the desert for 6 months and wait for him to get his Army together during the Gulf War, because his stuff looked good on Pentagon paper, but didn't hold water when applied! Powell is no different than Clark!

Powell has chosen to align with BO rather than with someone "who represents a change in policy". If he was interested in something different he would have had to have joined up with Ron Paul. RP is the only one running for either party that represented anything resembling change. Everyone else was just more big government anti-constitution BS we get every cycle.

Could skin color be a factor? Blacks claim white people vote McCain because Obama is black. But the funny thing is blacks come out and admit they are voting for Obama because he is black. Others won't admit it but when asked why they are voting for Obama the don't have any answer except something like "he's a good person."

ROFLMAO!! Ron Paul represents change?

RP.. the man who demands more control over spending, yet when you catch his campaign receiving money from White Supremeist, REFUSES to give the money back! The man that is trying to just change the name of Isolationism, and go back to the failed thinking that if we just leave everyone alone, they will just ignore us too!

I'd vote for Obama before I brought the hippy propped up Ron Paul into the picture!

Silverfox06...one thing you're not, and that is a fox. If you were a fox, you wouldn't believe all that non-sense you posted. What do you want another dimwitted basket-case like GWB. A president should be elite and sure of himself; that’s what we look for in a leader. Since when have we started adoring bumbling idiots as leaders? Republicans are so broke, busted, and disgusted, that they’re trying to spin the perception of leadership qualities.

I can’t believe the insidiousness of the republican spin machine that tries to turn positives into negatives because they have no positives to talk about. Jump ship and join the folks on the life boat to economic security, and world respectability. However, most diehard Republicans would rather sink with the ship rather than admit they were wrong.

Abunai...Ooops! The Gulf War is over and the Casualties were minimal. We are still fighting the Iraq War and the casualties are heavy. I'll take Colin Powell's war strategy any day vs General Betrayus.

Gee what a surprise khazzi. I would expect nothing else from an idiot like yourself.

"A president should be elite and sure of himself"

A brain dead freak like you can actually see those qualitys in Obama? LMAO!!!

Powell has learned, like most of America, that McCain is another mistake like our current president who I do not understand how anyone can really support him, unless they are die-hard republicans.

Oops! khazzi Better check you FACTS again! Gulf War ended in a CEASE-FIRE! The current operations are a result of the breech of the conditions of it! We are loosing more troops now because Democrats gave Iraq 8 years to rebuild and complete inaction!

A leader is someone that does what is best, instead of what is popular. Bush never ran this nation as democrats always do.. by polls. Just like my house! If I wanted to be a popular parent the kids would get ice cream and candy everyday! and while it was not good for them, Id be the greatest Dad in history!

Sorry Dems, but the loud pop you heard in 2001 was Bush pulling the all day sucker out of your face!...

khazzi - casualties are heavy? Study history you idiot! We've killed tens of thousands of terrorists; and suffered around 5k in losses, many of which were not combat related. In fact, every year the military loses thousands to non-combat related incidents. Silver Fox's opinions are on the money; however, you appear to be another brainwashed groupie of Obama's

Abunai, you should try researching the man before regurgitating the BS you have been fed by you favorite flapping jaw. There is little to no truth what so ever in the nonsense you posted.

Afelton, do you think if a powerful white democrate threw his support to McCain that race would not get brought up??

afelton read my blog

pLOp yep I do think that race will NOT be brought up if a powerful white democrat threw his support for John McCain. He/She will be more than likely accused of party disloyalty instead. Its only about race because Obama is the Democratic nominee and he happens to be half black. and it will be about gender if Hillary Clinton was the nominee.

Well khazzi I guess that if you ran or owned you would hire someone with no judgement and no experience to run you operation.
"OBAMA" DOES NOT HAVE JUDGEMENT NOR EXPERIENCE,HE IS "ELITIST" AND "CHARISMATIC" ANOTHER PERSON I WAS READING ABOUT WAS THE SAME AND THAT WAS "FIDEL CASTRO" OBAMA IF ELECTED WILL DESTORY EVERYTHING THIS COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND BELIEVES IN HE IS "SOCIALIST".

Afelton, this may shock you. But I have never voted democratic in th 40 years I have voted. This time looks like a first. The only thing Obama scares me about is in case of a war or another attack. I'm with him as for now.

I'm curious about the frequent use of the term "elitist" to characterize Obama. Are people trying to suggest that he is educated, has become successful and wealthy, is part of a select group, or what?

Being part of an "elite" group used to be considered an honor. The term was even used to describe certain highly trained military groups. So I am confused about the apparent attempts to use the term in a negative sense.

Perhaps it is just part of another talking point that people "parrot" without thinking.
