 PEOPLE POLL: Will the Photos Help or Hurt Miley?

 

Whether it was a case of manipulation or just plain youthful human error, the provocative pictures of Miley Cyrus by famed Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz are now the shots being heard around the world – in editorials, TV discussions and conversations around family dinner tables.

While Cyrus's defenders suggest that the pictures – now available on the Vanity Fair Web site – may ultimately help the 15-year-old graduate into a more mature artist, others are criticizing her for disappointing her 'tween and teen fan base, which looks up to her as a role model.

Cyrus on Sunday publicly apologized for the photos.

Can you say publicity? Now.....can you say FREE publicity??? The media picks right up on this and then she sells more records, t shirts and other garbage. It was probably set up by her Daddy and will probably land her at least an extra 5 million.........GOOD JOB MEDIA!!!!

Wow what a coincedence. Right when she's nearing the end of appealing to children she suddenly has pictures taken that catch the eye of young grown ups. I think someone is thinking about the next step here and doing what it takes to get there.

Not sure if it is true but I heard someone report today that Miley will be worth over a billion next year!!!!

I would agree with Jim hear. This is to bolster up a career as an adult star. I think the parents are afraid their cash cow has all dried up and now they are pushing her into an adult role to fast. This will end up biting her in the end.

I don't see how her parents could condone this? Most parents would tell their daughters to go and change their cloths if they tried to get away with wearing a few of the dresses in that shoot.

She's becoming a great role model, thats for sure.
