I'll be heading out to vote shortly.. hoping for a line that's not too long and an election volunteer who can still manage a smile when she hands me my ballot.  I'm also hoping my effort is not in vain; that my vote counts and will be counted.

That being said.  Did you vote today?  How was your expererience?

7:15 this morning. I showed up to find they didn't have me on the list at my normal voting district. Go figure. Turns out they changed where I vote even though I live right next door. I needed to go one block over, less than a mile. Seemed strange, but it wasn't that big a deal. Funny part was when I walked into the new location there was one lady all upset and having to let everyone know. Then she fussed because she had the wrong ticket. "I'M A DEMOCRAT AND YOU HAVE ME LISTED AS A REPUBLICAN!" She didn't see the humor when I congratulated her on taking such a big step up. But it did quiet her down some.

I guess we were voting at the same time, Captain_Jim!!

I took my child to school at 7 a.m. and went to my precinct right after.

I did have a good experience. No lines and the volunteers were not grumpy - yet! - LOL

One can only hope that the vote we cast is the one that will make the difference. I strugle to understand why people do not exercise this privilege when they have it.

Hope you have a good experience when you vote, Amy!

Ok.. just got back. I was the ONLY voter at my precinct during the time I was there. But they did say they'd seen three times as many people today as they have in the last three elections. Hmmmmmm.

The lady who handed me my ballot did not smile.. in fact.. I don't think she even made eye contact with me now that I think about it. But I did have a nice experience when I walked out the door.. two ladies were standing under a tent serving free drinks and snacks to all the voters. Very nice.

I've got my sticker now.. and I feel like I've done my civic duty. On to November.

I just got back, seems Mitt Romney's campaign with crazy with signs on election day, the process went smooth and fast... marked the ballot ... signed my name at the top of it and snapped a picture of it before I put it through the scanner... lol. At least I got a receipt of some sort proving I cast a ballot and who I voted for.

The only reason I voted against the Amendment thing is because it takes more money away from local government and makes them more dependent on Federal loans to survive. Our Schools, our Fire Departments, and all those dependent on local revenue to survive will hurt more because of this and become dependent on Federal money. Other than that it would be great for the American people, but we must realize that the less taxes we pay locally the more the Federal Government has a choke hold on our local government and thats more power that is taken away from our local politicians.

How cool is that ThinkTanked! You actually took a picture of your ballot? I wonder how many other people thought to do that?

In and out in less than 5 minutes for BOTH the wife and I. Everyone was friendly and still smiling when we voted and we got our little "I voted" stickers too. We couldn't take a photo of our ballot because due to our vision problems we use the touch screen system, which we like a whole lot more than those paper ballots!

All in all, a very pleasant experience for us.

Gainesville must have its act together: my voting went very smoothly. The volunteers were polite and pleasant, the paper ballot was correct, plenty of booths were available and "I Voted" stickers were cheerfully given on the way out. A very quick and positive experience, overall.

No problems voting...in and out in 5 minutes...however, there was a woman getting people to sign a petition just outside to polling place. I don't remember the exact distance one has to be away from the polling place, so she may have been within boundary zone. It jus seems a ilitte strane to have this right out sides the polling place

I left my house voted and was back in literally 10 minutes! Can't beat that. They were even polite! I was a big fan of filling in the dot and putting my voter card in the machine myself. No messed up touch screens ad no hanging chads!

Living in such a small town, I walked in the door of the Town Hall, recognized, and was greeted by everyone I saw, voted and walked out the door, talked to some people I know outside. Ta ta for now!
