Hillary: A genius?

WOLFEBORO, N.H.  — Former President Clinton says his wife is a “world-class genius” when it comes to improving the lives of others.

Clinton stuck mostly to familiar themes in two hour-long appearances Thursday, describing at length what he views as the nation’s biggest challenges. Nearly 15 minutes into his first speech, he added almost as an afterthought that “everything I’m saying here is my wife’s position, not just mine.”

It was his third trip to New Hampshire in little more than a month, and the visit came the day before Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton was to return to the Granite State for two days of campaigning.

Calling the ability to help others the most important quality in a president, Clinton first compared the successes of his administration in creating jobs and other areas to the failures of the Bush administration before finally turning the focus to his wife, a New York senator.

“The reason she ought to be president, over and above her vision and her plans is that she has proven in every position she has ever had in life, whether it was in elected office or not, that she is a world-class genius in making positive changes in other people’s lives,” he said.

Change vs. experience has been a theme of the Democratic presidential race, and Clinton said the two are not mutually exclusive.

Again, he defended himself before praising Hillary Clinton, calling it an oversimplification to say that in 1992, he was the change candidate to George H.W. Bush’s experience.

“When I came here, I was 46, but I was the senior governor in America,” Bill Clinton said. “I had worked hard on the very economic issues I said I’d try work on as president for years and years and years.”

Clinton lauded his wife for her early work for the Children’s Defense Fund, her efforts to improve education in Arkansas when he was the state’s governor and her work in the U.S. Senate, repeatedly and forcefully calling her “an agent of change.”

“She’s got the right vision, big plans and a proven ability to change lives for the better. Experience and change are only opposed in values if you’re so experienced you don’t have any energy left and you can’t cut it, or if your experience is in fighting change,” he said. “But if you know how to do things, and you prove it over a long time that you can make change in other people’s lives, I think that is a pretty strong recommendation.”

What do you think of former President Bill Clinton's role in his wife's campaign?  Is he helping or hurting?

Well they said Hilary doesn't have the finesse and smooth talking ability Bill had. So Bill was more than happy to jump in there and speak on her behalf. But it seems Bill's smoothness has become a bit rough or the people are just wising up to the political game. The people are not interested in re-electing Bill to office, so Hilary has to do this on her own, if she can, it's going to be hard for America to accept another Clinton or another Bush clone in 2008.

Amy-

With all due respect Hillary and genius that close together???? Well, if you mix Hillary & Bill you get a HILLBILLY!!! He is not doing her much good but I really do not think she stands a chance.

“everything I’m saying here is my wife’s position, not just mine.”

That statement basicly places him as a coach to his wife and working the system a bit for himself. What I'm wondering is if Florida is out then why was he here? If our votes don't count then why is he here?

HAY TODD>>>>I'M A HILLBILLY!!! HOW DARE YOU PLACE THEM DEMOCRUMS IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS A HILLBILLY!!!!

Einstein was a genius. Edison was a genius. George Washington Carver was a genius. Even Wile E. Coyote was a genius. Hillary? Not a genius. Otherwise, she would've figured out Bills little affair (one among many) that was going on right under her nose, rather than spouting off about a "vast right wing conspiracy".

"Again, he defended himself before praising Hillary Clinton, calling it an oversimplification to say that in 1992, he was the change candidate to George H.W. Bush’s experience."

Yes, he was the candidate of change, alright. Our enemies went from fearing us to becoming emboldened. Now look where we are. Thanks, Bill.

Bill really doesn't matter much except that he is personable and is able to make people feel good.....and apparently some people are able to make him feel good as well. He is famous for that sort of exchange.

But regarding Hillary, she has been the nominee since even before she announced her candidacy and I would immagine that they are already decorating certain parts of the White House for her arrival.

BTW, her campaign has lots of photos of George I and Billy together in many places. The whole presidency succession has been a cooperative effort and has nothing to do with friendship.....it's business.

Do you want someone like Hillary Clinton running your life? Because Hillary Clinton clearly believes that's her job as President.

She also believes that corporate income in hers to spend, and that it's her position in life to decide what portion of their own income they should keep.

Tell me something, and be honest: If Hillary Clinton called you and told you that you, personally, had to do a different job, for a different income, and keep a different portion of it, would you just do what you're told?

And if not, then why vote for it?

Too bad they banned Mike Gravel from the Democratic Debates for being too honest, it would have been nice to hear some honesty in the debates.

Back in the seventies Democrats pushed party loyalty and voting for the party instead of the candidate...it's interesting to see that the Republicans are going through that almost 40 years later. But I guess it really doesn't matter who gets in....they are all so much alike after they take office. Political parties remind me quite a bit of labor unions....they aren't what they used to be.

Lol Freedom Free you have disappointed me.

I was actually trying to compliment thee.

Instead I unwittingly, set you off on a rant

A worse poem from you, imagine it, I can't

Multiple sentences, using only three words

I would say your writings, are for the birds

Write something without power, freedom, or free

Then perhaps you might make some sense to me

My compliment given, is now hereby revoked

Because of your last poem, on which I choked!
