A woman toppled from her wheel chair and died inside a Brooklyn hospital.  The absurd part of the story is that no one inside the medical center did anything to help her.  From  5:42am until 6:35, the security tapes captures the security guards passing by, but no action to help the woman.

An hour after she went down, nurse checks on her- 3 minutes later help arrives- but the woman's already dead.

Then the hospital says a nurse tried to cover up the lack of care-saying the woman was just fine in the waiting room. Several staffers were fired.

We want your thoughts on this one.

What do you make of the video from Brooklyn.

Think firing the staffers is enough?

what make us think this isn't happening somewhere else. It's so sad that people have lost compassion for others because of how much they don't make or the color of their skin.Hospitals will let die if you don't have the money to pay anyways either with substandard treatment or now treatment. will it change, I think not.

It is a tragedy - want to hear a bigger one?

The NYCLU will sue the hostpital, take millions from them, spend it on themselves, and the service will become MUCH worse.

I believe that those persons who saw this women in distress and did nothing to help her should be charged with a crime. I am a correctional officer and if we were to do something like that we would lose our jobs and also me charged criminally. Those people are entrusted to help people in need and it is obvious by the video that they did nothing of the sort. They deserve whatever comes their way and I hope the family of the victim sues the pants off them.

I am at a loss for words. To think that medical personnel could just ignore a situation like this is beyond belief.

I couldn't believe it when I saw the video. Very sad and all my prayers are with the family & friends. I believe that the medical personnel's did deserve to get fired. They saw the poor woman in need of help, and decided to ignore her. I hope this is a lesson learned to all hospitals & their ER staff. A E.R. is where you're supposed to get help for what you're going in there for! Not to be ignored and neglected. I work in a doctor's office, and I know coming into the medical field you need to have a great personality, and willing to help one's in need, not to ignore them!

People in fields who deal with the mentally disabled often form a buffer of apathy to protect them from the harsh realities of the field. I think that is what happened here, outside of work these people would probably be the first to rush to someone but at work this is their defense mechanism. It's sad but I agree, we would have to be ignorant to not think this is happening elsewhere.

I studied industrial psychology and I it's a fact that people will often do what others around them are doing. If people see someone fall down odds are they will first see how others react before weighing in themselves. If people are ignoring the person odds are your instinct will be to do the same. The people who jump in during situations like these are the ones who are trained to set their instinct's aside.
