Senator Bill Nelson (D-Florida) told me today that he won't be any presidential candidate's running mate. He believes if Senator Clinton (D-NY) is the nominee, Senator Obama (D-IL) should be the running mate. And if Senator Obama is the nominee, Senator Clinton should be the running mate. When I asked if he wanted to be the running mate, he simply stated he wanted the party to win. What's your opinion? Do you think he made the right decision?

Obama & Hillary will NEVER run on the same ticket. Not only do they hate each other, each has an ego so big one would kill the other!!

Good! If Nelson made it to the White House we would have to lock up the booz around Christmas time. That is if his son did come to the the Christmas party.....

I think if Nelson has future political aspirations, he did the right thing.

There's no way I can see those two on the same ticket.

The Democrats CANNOT get their act together.
Also, the Democrats as a rule, and as a long held track record are very big on raising taxes, and too many FREE welfare style programs

BUT

The Republcans are NO BETTER.
They are extremely disrespectful, and totally out of touch with the common person's desperate struggle to achieve a normal lifestyle.

BOTH PARTIES ARE ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS.

SOON TO BE. WILL BE THE PEOPLES' PARTY.

POLITICS AS USUAL, AND AS WE KNOW IT TODAY
HAS TO CHANGE OR THE UNITED STATES IS SOON TO SPIRAL DOWN IN A TAILSPIN OF ECONOMIC, AND MORAL DISASTER.

Thanks Drmonty, it's about time someone
stated the so plainly obvious for once!
I'M SO SICK OF BOTH PARTIES even though I'm
a registered Republican, and I'm NOT proud!

I would rather see Nelson leave
politics altogether and get NASA
back on track with the impending
layoffs at the end of the shuttle program.
He seems to have some very good ideas
about saving those thousands of jobs.
Brevard County's already saturated job
market cannot stand up to this travesty.
Besides, what better job for a former astronaut and hero...politics? C'mon Nelson,
do something you'll be good at and go back to
NASA.

OH BOY,,,,,, NOW YOU DID IT SMITTY.

THE SHUTTLE...................

OK, LISTEN TO THIS. WE,,, THE USA HAVE THE LARGEST STAKE IN THE SPACE STATION. IN 2010, WE'RE SUPPOSED TO RETIRE THE SHUTTLE FLEET FOR GOOD, AND ABANDON THE PROGRAM.

WHAT GENIUSES THOUGHT OF THIS......

THE ONLY ABILITY WE HAVE AT THAT POINT TO GO IN, AND OUT OF SPACE WILL BE ( SOLELY ) THROUGH THE RUSSIANS. WHAT THE HELL????????

Have you seen in the past 9 months how we have had ( 3 ) Russian space capsules crash land back on Earth... The last one almost killed two American astronauts... THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE.

Instead of retiring the Shuttle Fleet, we should dedicate ALL OUR RESOURCES POSSIBLE to
a NEW ADVANCED version of the Space Shuttle.

We NEED THIS !!!!!

The Shuttle is still in it's infancy, and
an advanced version of it is DUE. To cut it out is to take one leap backwards for mankind.

Our government is NO LONGER government OF THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE.

NO MORE.......

The government has chosen to represent the United States as a completely separate entity than the people IN the country.

Do you understand how I said that?

The country IS the people. And the people ARE the country. But what has happened here is that the government has created a situatio whereby the country is a totally separate entity. It allows them to add a different dimension to the varied playing fields of LIFE, SECURITY, TAXATION, AND WAR.

Listen to me. I know of what I speak.

As for the Shuttle . . . (my father worked in the space program for 45 years and what I am about to say comes directly from him)

The current shuttle vehicle was obsolete when the Challenger blew up. Rockwell had the next generation vehicle ready to go (which was much more cost effective and had a two week turn around time) but NASA wouldn't come off the money to put it into production.

As you know, our government works on the lowest bid system and Lockheed (an airplane manufacturer - airplanes and spacecraft are nothing alike) took over the Shuttle program.

NASA could have updated many years ago, but refused to work with Rockwell as the owner of the new generation shuttlecraft. NASA wanted to own it and Rockwell said no. NASA could once again be a leader, but they still refuse to work with Rockwell.

Our space program is NOT coming to an end.

NASA is FINALLY getting rid of the deathtrap vehicles they have now and preparing to go to a new vehicle. The reason for the coming layoffs is to re-fit KSC for the new vehicle and its requirements. That's going to take quite a bit of time (which makes reliance on Russia very scary indeed), but when the re-fit is completed, our program (and Brevard County) will be up and running again. This is not the first time Brevard has become a ghost town because of updates to the space program.

Being that this has been in the works for years, I find it typically political that Nelson is sitting on the info and going to let the public believe that he is responsible for putting America and Brevard County back in the space rac
