The war in Iraq is sending our country into a financial tailspin, and it's only going to get worse.

Have you heard what our elected leaders in Washington D.C. are doing now?

The house just approved $162 billion in war funds! That's already on top of the billions we've already invested in that hell hole.

And for what? To temporarily liberate a region that's been fighting for thousands of years, and hold a few terrorists at bay. Meantime, our country is hurting.

Tell me something. Is it worth it? Is it worth our country investing billions of dollars and human lives to fight this war?

I say no way.

Your turn.

Keep our money.
Keep our soldiers alive and here.
Keep our sanity.

Most of all, keep to ourselves and maybe we woulndt be in this mess we are in now.

Stop funding the world and fund ourselves for once.

You are a born troublemaker aren't you Tom?

If you do not support the "war to hang Saddam" you must HATE our troops, you MUST love terrorists and your dog is probably a thespian to boot.

You DESERVE it when our government taps your phone, intercepts your mail, kidnaps you in the dark or night, ships you to a foreign country for torture and then holds you in a military brig for 4 years without due process; after this you may be gain your freedom only after YOUR government loses a court ruling which is in your favor despite filing dozens of stalling motions.

Obviously you are an unpatriotic, pinko-commie, liberal, Osama loving media pin head, enemy of the people..

Oh brother.. sorry to disagree ONE more TIme...

FACT: The Iraq war is not a drain on the immediate Economy.. it is actually borrowed money (which while it stinks isnt a drain and it might be an investment in 20 years out)

Tom Tell the station to send you there so you dont get your info from Micky Moore and those clowns. IT IS NOT ONLY worth it, it was the correct thing to do. It wasnt for OIL (obvoiusly so it seems now.. so you were lied by the Liberals on that too?), it wasnt a Bush Lie (see my video of Gore, Clinton. Kerry all thinking WMDS were there.

And it isnt worse with Terrorists... we are killing them left and right... 400 just the other day in Afghanistan. They lose each time they stick their carpet heads up.

Yes I would love to spend that money on Schools (Federal Govt doesnt fund schools), or Flint, or New Orleans but regardless of the War. you pal CLinton didnt do anything "INSTEAD".

It isnt the War dragging down the economy... allllll economists will agree with that, except the NY ONCE UPON A TIMES USA troop haters.

But yes, from Jimmy Carter who experienced the Gas lines to Reagan and on to Bush and CLinton and a Trial attorney loaded Congress, they wont help even if we didnt spend the Money on IRag... PROOF: NO energy policy, no alternative plans, no Nukes, no drilling, no refinerys... AND I AM JUST TALKING CLINTON and Looney GORE...opps.

Research the way the the war is funded. I am disappointed in you in your facts in this case.

Oh and I wanted to Add... It isnt the war or anything like that.... it is a US Government we let off the rope with our apathy. Bush has policys that drive me nuts... Border, Kissing Red China (like recently done by Tresury Sectretary), and kissing up to OPEC, and the FDA mess, and the FAA mess and so on... but add these 8 years to Clinton-Gore 8 years... his internet bubble burst, no action in the things above which makes 16 years now, and his lack of action getting Ben Laden who the people who screwed up are on Obamas advisor boards

You say you are making WATCH DAWG,,.,I will be running 501c Commercials Nuking them all and when I get done with some of Obamas advisors (susan rice for example) they wont get a job at Wal Mart. It will be Swift Boating on Steroids.

I am sick of it... with impotent Whitehouses (Clinton,BUSH 41, BUSH 42, Reagan and CARTER) and A TOTAL BUNCH OF CORRUPT AND LYING CONGRESS.... (like Dodd of CT who we think took sweet heart deals by COuntywide) or the Earmark crisis that bug eyed Pelosi wanted to clean up but got worse.

THey wont like Truth guys... News at 11.

Another Party of Surrender sympathetic to the Jihadi piece.

I guess I'll align your thinking process with the recent events in Afghanistan. Seems the taliban is running all over the country again. The thing is, the military isn't seeing them. The Press is. Kind of makes a person think to himself who's telling the truth?

What's clear to me and a few others Thomas is that your position on this war is one that will require our kids and grand-kids to fight a brutal fight. One that is far bigger and holds much greater consequences then the position we are in today. Really all you speak to is your lack of experience as to the state of the world, and our position in it.

Your stuck on the corruptocrats and have lost any ability to remain objective.

In the end when you've found that your no different then the flower-power type that spit on the Vietnam Vet, I hope you have enough dignity and humility to tell your kids and your grand-kids that you were on the side of marxism. That your blame America first mentality helped to send them to their end of days. I wonder what the hell it takes to wake up the most hate-filled hearts that exist in this world, especially when these haters actually think they are on the side of peace and prosperity. Watchdog my ass, your in the tank Thomas, you haven't got the guts to speak to the truth, only the guts to follow the corruptocrats who say no to drilling, and whine about foreign oil dependency. Only a fool thinks we can have both, as your blogs have stated.

Thomas, your part of the problem. All you do is whine and you never offer any solutions. Is that a job requirement? There are people working their butts off to provide the solutions, all while facing adversity and scepticism. You should stand aside as your tired views of the war and energy have gotten us nowhere. If you can't help solve the problems or contribute, you should s.t.f.u. !!

All I've ever heard from you is no to this, no to that, we can't, why are we. You got a friggen mouse in your pocket. I'm glad there were real men who founded this country and not gutless pansies like yourself with a myopic view of the world.

For once Thomas, why don't you discuss what this nation has provided for you and your family instead of always railing against it.

TG..It is NO Secret that the LEFT has invested itself in America's DEFEAT in Iraq..

From the Outrageous Statements made from the start of this War coming from such notorious notables as Reid,, Pelosi,, Kerry,, Murtha,, Durbin and ALL of the other so called Democrat "Leadership" to the LIES about HOW we got into this and who’s responsible to the treasonous efforts of Jimmy Carter to the News Blackout of ANY Good News in Iraq to the treatment of every 1000 death milestone as if it were a New Years Countdown CELEBRATION one thing has come to be as MUCH a part of the War on Terrorism as is our Participation IN that War..

Antonin Scalia’s dissention includes the following,,

“The game of bait-and-switch that this opinion plays upon the nation's commander in chief will make the war harder on us, It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed. That consequence would be tolerable if necessary to preserve a time-honored legal principle vital to our constitutional republic, but it is this court's blatant abandonment of such a principle that produces this decision,”

Scalia argues the decision “breaks a chain of precedent as old as the common law that prohibits judicial inquiry into detentions of aliens abroad. It sets our military commanders the impossible task of proving to a civilian court, under whatever standards this court devises in the future, that evidence supports the confinement of each and every enemy prisoner.”

“Scalia likens the Guantanamo detainees to the 400,000 prisoners of war held in the U.S. during World War II. Despite the fact that all of them were on U.S. soil, none was given the right to have their detention validated by habeas corpus action in federal court.”

THIS decision serves but ONE purpose,, the right of the Terrorists to be LEGALLY released to the battlefield or as Justice Scalia puts it ,, to a "return to the kill”..

The FACT is,,NO country,, INCLUDING THIS ONE,, has EVER given such rights to Prisoners of War IN time of War..Such prisoners are TYPICALLY held for the DURATION of the War..

THIS Unprecedented and Constitutionally Unsupportable decision, made by LIBERAL Justices who have ALREADY admitted in the past that the basis FOR any d

Well, knock me down and call me "shorty"..the dirty bird and I agree completely that "..Presidential election based on judicial appointments been so critical.." ALL the more reason to vote for CHANGE if your idea of a proper Justice is "Slash your Rights" Scalia.

Sounds like someone is slobbering all over Scalia's slippers.

I told you that you were a terrorist loving, commie cuddling, world destroying cretin, Tom.

Maybe you'll listen to me next time. Straighten up buddy or it's on to Guantanamo for you on the next flight...after a proper dose of water-boarding to prepare you for the trip.

The "war to hang Saddam" ended 5 years ago? That being your statement, you obviously agree that the initial phase was meant to "hang Saddam" and not to fight terror which morphed into "phase two".

You can't have it both ways. There was either NO WAR TO HANG SADDAM or there was one which ended 5 years ago... a direct and complete indictment of Dumbo for starting a war of revenge. Do you need a ladder to climb out of this hole?

"Borrowed money" doesn't count? Who pays it back?

You rant and rail about the evil of politics and politicians but the single most corrupt aspect of politics today is the use of attack ads which you seem to embrace. Look in the mirror if you want to improve the political process.

Tom_Sussi read my blog view my photos

Saddman didn't blow up the Twin Towers!!!!
No weapons of mass destruction were ever found!!!!!
Saddam was not an immediate threat to the United States!!!!!
We rushed in, and now we're created a bigger mess.
I support our troops. I worry about our troops. And I feel sorry for our troops that their government sold them out.

I will not answer for Tom, DEOP, but will for myself.

that was the right decision, made at the right time and had George followed it through to it's completion instead of losing focus in Iraq, the war on terror would be over, except for the occasional elimination of a terrorist cell from time to time.

That is the greatest tragedy of the "war to hang Saddam". We are losing the war in Afghanistan because of Iraq.

Can't add much to the responses here, and actually await the ever typical Tom response that will amount to Hey... just stiring the pot here and throwing a question out. Then he will once again tell us how is is NOT a radical liberal and is just an investigative reporter. LOL!

With the stance on executive powers to defend the nation then we could apply that to local govt too then Tom.. Why spend so much money on police and law enforcement then... If we didn't have cruisers with cops driving through and patrolling the street the bad guys would just go away right? Just because they are breaking the law and killing innocent people is NO EXCUSE for us to be risking police officer's lives right?

Yet the other liberal notion of just bring them all in and pass out 4th ammendment rights to everyone works really well to!

That way we can expose all our intel during disclosure to the defense, and set ourselves back 20 years!

Defense of this nation is like the deep end of the pool. If you can't swim, or not willing to, then stay at the shallow end! But don't stand in that shallow water and criticize everyone on the other end.

The war is an "away game," thank God. If we didn't go over there, and take it to them, they would have continued to bring it here. Radical muslims are driven by religious fervor, and many Americans cannot understand and comprehend that. They're worried about getting the latest i-Phone....so, any money spent killing them over there, is money well spent!

Want to save money? Kick out the illegals! Send them packing with their benefit-sucking families! That would save more than what the war is costing!

Tom & YD - your feelings (& mine) on Afghanistan doesn't jive with being "Liberal".

But since you don't agree with not concentrating on finding the murderers of thousands of Americans & instead to use much more troop strength & resources invading a country that had nothing to do with it, we then must be liberals. Do you understand it now?

BTW - I've been told a few times that I'm defending hussein since I disagree with invading & occupying iraq rather that finding the people behind 09/11.
Now using that same hairbrain logic, wouldn't people who support the iraq invasion & occupation rather than concentrating on finding bin Laden, than be defending bin Laden?

Tell me how this country is benefiting from fighting in Iraq? Maybe I'm just to stupid to see it.
Think what we could have done with billions of dollars in this country protecting our borders and strenghtening our military. Saddam should not have been our primary target!!!!!Yes, he was a bad man. Yes, the world is better without him. But he didn't mastermind 9-11!!!!!

Abunai read my blog view my photos

Naw.. just ignorant Tom.. Stupid would be when you know the truth and facts but continue to deny them....

Benefits: We for the first time in a long time have REGAINED world respect for standing up and FINALLY defending ourselves! That "reputation" liberals say we lost and want to bad to get back is the very one that had us being attacked over and over!

Billions of dollars instead? Clinton looted over 140 Billion a year from the military but never reduced its use! Thats 1 TRILLION, 400 BILLION dollars in back pay since 1997 alone!!

WHERE did Clinton spend that money Tom? Liberals have been putting that money in their favorite places with it!

Sadaam was our primary target, and you can't take him out without controlling the replacement.

As for Sadaam not being the mastermind of 9-11 you are correct, its the DEMOCRATS that keep trying to associate the war on terror with Sadaam! Its the same as if you said that Hitler was not Japanese in WWII...

We are STILL weeding out the Clinton, liberals from every branch of federal goverment, and you see how the AirForce was on the chopping block in the last few weeks. Rumsfeld worked with what he was left, Bush continues to do the same!

BTW- the liberal idea of using the courts to take the terrorist down, 9/11 was put together by one of the guys Clinton missed after the 93 attempt! Yet you libs continue to put your agenda and failed notions ahead of security of the citizen!

YOU people keep LUMPING the War against Saddam that was OVER 4 YEARS ago with the CURRENT war IN Iraq,, WITH Iraq as OUR allies,,, AGAINST the Tarrorists..

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME WAR!!!!

SADDAN is DEAD...THAT war is OVER...GET OVER IT already...

It ISN'T a Matter of opinion..It ISN'T a matter of debate..There IS no Middle Ground here and NO Comprimise to be made..You are EITHER right or you are wrong and in THIS case,, to continue to refer to,, think,, say,, allude to or in ANY other way confuse the War against Saddam with ANYTHING that's going on in Iraq today is JUST PLAIN WRONG ..CASE CLOSED...

WE are FIGHTING Terrorists in Iraq.. TERRORISTS,, NOT Saddam..The SAME Terrorists and their network that we're fighting in Afghanistan..The SAME Terrorists that brought down the Towers...

HOW many times and HOW many different ways do you HAVE to have THIS SIMPLE concept spelled out for you..

And the rediculous contention that Iraq didn’t attack us on 9/11 is LUDICROUS at best..By THAT logic one must conclude,

The SAME arguments USED to justify the opposition to the War in Iraq can likewise be used to justify ANY opposition to the War in Afghanistan..

The Taliban didn’t attack us on 9/11…

NO Afghan attacked us on 9/11…

Osama is in PAKISTAN,,NOT Afghanistan..

SO,,,, WHY is the war in Afghanistan so rightgeous while Iraq is DEMONIZED..The ANSWER,,,

It ISN’T..The FACT of the matter IS that IF we had NEVER invaded Iraq the adherents to the LIBERAL philosophy of “NO war for ANY reason and at ANY cost” would be Squalling EVERY Bit as Much and as LOUDL

We can fight these dirt bags until the end of time. They're not going away.
We can not continue to fight a fight that has no end. And, trust me, the terrorists are here, too. They just haven't reared their ugly heads - yet. But, one day, they will.
