We just got back from our vacation to Charleston, SC and a good friend's wedding.  Wow, what a wedding it was.  James and Marie Evans got married on the sand at Folly Beach.  Really cool set-up too.  The family's rented this HUGE house called "Viewpoints" that across a small two-lane road from the dunes.  The rehearsal dinner, reception and Sunday brunch were all on the grounds of the house.  After the bride and groom said "I do" on the beach... we all walked across the street to the house for the INCREDIBLE reception!  They had a live bang with dancing, servers carrying around freshly made Mojitos and iced tea, cold lobster tail, crab cakes, boiled shrimp, freshly made sushi, a carving station, pound cake that you dipped in warm chocolate and an open bar to boot.  Again... amazing wedding all the way around!  I will try to post some pictures.  I'll let you know when I put them up.

Congratulations to James and Marie!

Hey Tom! I am planning a visit to that area (Folly Beach) that is where the Light is right? Are they rennovating that Light or is it still in bad shape?

Looking forward to seeing your wedding images! =)

Hey Brenda... don't know much about the Morris Island Lighthouse there. I did see a photo while we were there and it's a nice looking, historic place. Here's a website I found about it - http://www.follybeach.com/lighthouse.php

Charleston is one of my favorite cities on earth. Here're a couple of my favorite suggestions to eat and stay in the historic district:

* Lunch: Poogan's Porch (on Queen Street)
* Dinner: 82 Queen (again, on Queen Street)
* Elliott House Inn (believe it or not, on Queen Street too!)
* Ansonborough Inn (Hasell Street, I think)

Have a great trip!
