Theo Epstein is really bad at asquistions. This is not news and most agree. I have given up on the blunders he has made. Before you tell me about Josh Beckett and Lowell, this was done while he was away from the team. The people who did this deal have moved on to GM jobs of their own.
Now Theo wants to give 5 million dollars to a 41 year old Smoltz who just came off major surgery. Smoltz also did not pitch most of last year. Someone pinch me and tell me this is not real. This guy will be either in the minors or on rehab most of the season.
Way to go Theo!

Jason is still not signed and spring training is a month away. Each day that goes by will diminish his value. I cannot help but believe at this point there will be sour grapes by him, even if he does sign with the Sox.
Sox have not filled the gap. Josh Bard is a nice sign but is not the answer.
Anyone know anything about the contract talks? Is abritration going on? I wonder how happy Jason is with Borris at the moment?
Thanks..

There is something quietly going on here in Boston. While the Celtics seem to get the most press, The Boston Bruins have a 9 game winning streak. This is the longest since 1982.
I urge anyone who has ever been a B's fan, to tune and watch this team. Learn the names now so you are not saying "who" come playoffs.
Tonights game was "wicked pissah" and I am glad I tuned in.

In addition to yesterday's game being totally awesome, Matt Cassel really stepped into the pocket well. He seemed to lacking in this chore. A few of past game sacks may have been avoided if he had moved up a few steps. Yesterday he seemed to step in without thinking, as if his Dad was whispering in his ear reminding him.
Yesterday, Matt Cassel played shortly after burying hid Dad. He played with poise and confidence and I think made this his team. Brady is going to have to compete with this kid to get his job back.
Congrats on a great game to all the team.

Desmond "Desi" Howe was a retired Sgt. on The Massachusetts State Police. Desi died this morning at 1:00 a.m. after a long battle with Cancer.
Desi was quite a character. He was a prankster and really knew how to get one's blood pressure going. He would give you the shirt off his back and do any favor possible. He taught me quite a few things and how to pick out the clowns in life.
Desi was a good friend and will be missed my many. He leaves behind a loving family and many friends from Golds in Braintree and The Wood Road Deli.
God Bless you Desi and I hope to have another coffee with you some day.

Was that the best blitz ever yesterday near the end of the Pats game?

Looks like David Gregory will take over "Meet The Press". I guess there is no one quite like Russert, but David Gregory. I am not sure about this.

(Dec. 2) - NBC News will name chief White House correspondent David Gregory to succeed the late Tim Russert as host of 'Meet the Press,'
Politico.com reported Tuesday.
The Sunday morning staple has been without a permanent host since the iconic Russert, 58, collapsed and died June 13. Tom Brokaw has been filling in on a temporary basis.

I am not trying to start a problem but something has come to my attention. Why is Brady not at the games? Could it be that his girlfriend has messed with his GPS and Tom goes north instead of South?
Maybe Gisselle likes to model her latest clothing when the game is on. Could be those tables in The North End go quickly, and they need to get there early on game day?
Could be everyone at Gillete has forgotton him and made him use the rear employee entrance?
I thought it was really cool when Drew wore the headphones and called in the plays for Brady. I thought Drew's actions made him a real stand up guy. I followed Drew's careeer to the end, because of the respect he earned, for his actions after his injury.
I love Brady but he could at least sit up in The Kraft suite.

Watching Brady get hurt in the first game was devasting for all Pat fans. No one wants to see anyone get hurt. We also thought our season was down the tube. In comes Matt Cassel and slowly we have seen a second stringer become a star. A star whose name was mentioned in the same sentence as Johnny Unitas.
I don't want to get ahead of myself here but the NFL owes you a big thanks as well. Because if you do end up on another team in the future, New England has just tapped into that market. I am sure all of us will always follow your career.
Thanks again!!!

Well, it has started. That crazy time at the end of a President's term, when people with usually no chance of getting out of jail, go free.

WASHINGTON (Nov. 25) - President George W. Bush's latest list of pardons does not include some high-profile criminals who still hope the president will grant them clemency in his final weeks in office.
On Monday, Bush granted pardons to 14 individuals and commuted the prison sentences of two others whose misdeeds included dealing drugs, evading taxes, killing bald eagles or mishandling hazardous waste.

The Red Sox started the games. They offered Borris and Jason a one year deal. No doubt this is the starting point and the sox will come back with a better deal. The message has been sent. I wonder how many other teams are knocking at our captain's door?

OK, the big chiefs from the auto makers were pretty stupid this week. Taking jets to Washington to ask for money is pretty sad. You want to ask them what they were thinking. It is almost similar when someone says something really stupid, you want to ask if they knew they said that out loud.
Obviously these jets are expensive. They can cry all day long that the cost are fixed, but no one is buying that balony. To fly into a major airport is far more than a suburban one. Reebok's Paul Fireman had one and would never fly into Logan. He kept it at Hanscom and always flew from there. When Adidas bought Reebok a few years back, the jet was the first thing to go.
I do find it funny that they were asked why they did not all take one jet. Congress frowns on companies getting together in such a manner. FTC laws prohibit most businesses from talking to one another. Baseball is excluded from these rules.
Still, these clowns should have taken Jet Blue.

Weei is reporting Coco Crisp has been traded for a very good relief pitcher. Ramon Rameriz of The Royals is coming to Boston.
I am impressed with this trade. Theo actually unloaded a player without having to throw in a pitcher.
Coco, thanks I did enjoy watching you vacuum in balls. Good luck!!

270 is not that far away. Thankfully a man who can communicate will be our President. McCain lives in the past and ran a terrible campaign. His stubborness was an indicator on long he would keep us fighting.
I am proud to be an American and proud to have President Obama to lead us. For those of you who feel differently, you can always move.
