I've seen/heard the first two presidential debates and VP debate, but it's hard to get any more out of them than just watching a stump speach or press conference. Are they helpful to you? I don't remember any great lines/jabs from either side that would get people fired up. Maybe I'm just waiting/hoping for some more excitement and sparring between the candidates. but I guess for those not paying as close attention to the race, they could help show where each stands on certain issues.

what do you think? good? bad? want more?

how about an Obama/Palin debate...that'de be some good TV

You're right. I don't see anything to speak of
in the debates that I don't already know.
I would like to see full coverage of both candidates
on the trail; their speeches. Unfortunately, the
local crooks and Caylee get much more coverage
than the presidential campaigns.

Why would Obama debate Palin??
Would you want Biden to debate McCain?
Odd...

The debates are only an over rated political ad that doesnt prove anything except how good politicians lie.

Actually, the one thing I really came away with from last night's debate was that Obama wants to fine parents for not having health insurance for their children. I didn't know that. What an @$$hole!

Obama and Palin are not running for the same office. I don't see the point of a debate.

Eric hit the nail straight on the head! What I don't understand is why the "POLS" say this and the "POLS" say that. I've been alive for just shy of 65 years, lived in three different states, visited all 48 continental, and have never ben asked my opinion on anything. In fact, I don't know anyone who was ever asked to participate in one of those "POLS", have you?

Both presidential candidates were a part of the financial situation we are in and had a chance to make a difference in this situation – I want to know why they dropped the ball – are they both so far out of touch with the real people of this nation, that they couldn’t even see it coming themselves? We need a presidential candidate that knows the people and can relate to this situation – that has a REAL plan to get us out of this mess and restore confidence – not only in the stock market, but in buying ANYTHING in this country. The reason the markets are and have been failing for years is because people have lost confidence in the products that they are buying. Besides the values of their homes falling, they have to deal with cars that are built to create repair revenue later. Toys that are made to fall apart after just a few times of use. Electronics that are also built for repair revenue…. And so on. PEOPLE ARE ASKING… WHAT HAPPENED TO THE AMERICAN STANDARD?

I have to agree with CynPro on one point, an important event like the election of the President is given nothing more than 2 minutes of air time. No one has asked the impotant questions at the debates, where do they stand on Immigration, jobs education??? All I hear is we will change we need change. How is going to be done??

ukusa.. well those questions are asked actually, just not on the "alphabet media" side. What you are witnessing is the self imposed 4th branch of the federal government (aka mainstream media) trying to shape the election, tell people what is important, and what the correct answers are.

Free thinking individuals simply become frustrated as you are when they use their own judgement and critical thininking skills and don't need someone doing it for them.

My question today for example:

Since this is the second time that Obama decided to declare war on Pakistan in a public forum, how long is the media going to not report that our forces in theater right now are taking fire over it.... Our planes are being shot at now, and the propaganda skills of that part of the world does not just take onboard the context that our own Democrats recite.

But now who on the left is willing to take Obama to task and say "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!!"

Oh! BTW Obama... defending the nation by taking on bad guys lne at at time illustrates your lack of understanding on national defense.

We don't finsh a job, then go to the next, as if our enemies wait in line patiently until you tell them you are ready! What an arrogant and ignorant mentality!

We didn't tell the Japanese they will just have to wait until we are done with the Germans in Europe, we just tooled up a military able to do the job needed!

ANYTIME Democrats say our military is spread too thin, I say then admit the Democrat majority that called for the post cold-war reduction in the 80s to take place in the 90s, was wrong! You just can't steal 140 Billion of Defense Budget from a 400 Billion total and think you can have issues wait in line because you aren't willing to invest in your own defense!!

It was the same-o same-o but certain statements which was applied tells me that Obama would cause an even bigger was with his mouth! The only thing I agreed with was the FIRING and pay back demand of those partier CEO's from AIG...off with their heads!!! Them A-Holes proved what we have been claiming all along with their spending tactics even with the bailout money! But this came out of the same mouth that has done the same and is still taking in his own money from the American people unwillingly! So Obama...practice what you preach!

Debaites - oops - I mean debates are useless and mean nothing more than promises that the people want to hear that cannot be fulfilled. Our Country is in such a mess that it will take some time to come out of what we are in just for the possibility of one promise to be fulfilled before the ending of the next four years. How old are we? Many of us have been through many Presidential Elections and they all present the same thing - knowing we all want change - we are told on both sides of the parties what we want to hear. It's like a wrestling match - we get all pumped up - only to realize it's only for show and it's all fake - but yet we keep shelling out money left and right for the show!

Supporting Obama? Us AMERICANS need to realize what we are doing to the United States of AMERICA before going to the polls. Lets turn back to 9/11. It took the terrorists many years of planning the attack on our world trade center and pentagon. The terrorists arrived in the United States several years prior to the attack as normal citizens with jobs and routines to fit into the general public. They studied our flight routines, airliners, and took flight classes in the United States with the intent to destroy OUR COUNTRY. They stayed well beneath the "radar" and we didn't even know they were here. Now lets look into BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.......He is of Muslim religion. He spent half of his life in the middle east. He came to OUR country and chose to belong to an anti-american church praticing hatred toward AMERICANS. He worked his way into the Senate and now after 18 months is running for president. Any similarities here?!?! Just think.....a perfect position to destroy AMERICA! He will be Chief of our military, have full access to our secret intelligence, our borders, our national security, and much much more. ARE WE CRAZY!!!! Sure he is a sweet talker and has charmed many of you but don't you think he has been trained to be that way. Obama supporters need to sit back and really think hard. Is it worth the tax break to middle class that he is proposing to do? If he becomes President we won't be here long to benefit from it! I am a middle class AMERICAN CITIZEN and will turn down Obama's promises to the middle class for the safety of OUR COUNTRY and the AME

Steve,
look a little deeper; at character. With each unscripted appearance, Obama's character, or lack thereof, shines through. He's totally against this country, and hates everything it stands for. His own admission to his muslim faith, coupled with his attendance at a racist church, his wife's notorious comments...all lead to a lack of presidential character. His contempt for whites, and this country we've built, shines like a beacon.

So, true, they beat the same horses, however, Obama's not a true American at heart, and his power trip, supported solely by liberal media and those he's duped, needs to end.

Steve, let's also not forget one very important debate issue; Obama's reluctance to debate. Over the last 6 months, McCain has asked him to debate numerous times....yet, he resigned to the mandatory 3. Now, since a debate is a medium where he cannot have the entire show, and spew whatever he likes, he declines. He declines because he lacks substance; and that's evident. So, as McCain's campaign has said, "who is Barack Obama?" He still remains a mystery in many aspects; and doesn't want to show his hand..why? What's he hiding? Doesn't he want change? How about some truth? Some admissions? Some responsiblity for his actions? Think about those things when they're meeting in the 3rd, and mandatory debate....OBama's a false prophet.

You know, you might be right, has anyone checked to see if Obama is really Bin Laden in disguise? The choice is clear, on one side you have an articulate educated candidate that has actually has laid out his detailed plan to deal with our national issues, on the other you have McCain and Palin, a candidate that spouts the same old song, the terrorists are coming, the terrorists are coming! and than there is Sara, she is not qualified to be an assistant manger at HOOTERS!
Excuse me madam vice president but the president has had a heart attach and you are now the president, what are you orders? "does this mean I get to move into the big white house on Philadelphia Ave.? how many bedrooms are there in the white house? does it have a backyard for my moose's to play in? I got some friends in Atlanta so if we invade Georgia I need some time to let them know so they can move to South Carolina! Yea she'd make Bush look like a GOOD president!

just keep belieiving in him; that's what he counts on. I suppose you gathered your data from his long list of "experience," coupled with all his "accomplishments," ...Besides, Palin has only run a town, and a state.

Obama's run...well, nothing really, but his mouth.
It's sad when Americans, such as yourself, will sell out to someone who has total disgust for the country and it's history. wreaks of treason at it's very core.

If Obama gets elected, you'll get exactly what you're asking for. Finally, if you're able to comprehend all this, the only reason he's in the spotlight is because he's black; and the democrats wanted a puppet in the front row, "change," from having the blacks throughout the country as their puppets.

Vote for him; he counts on those that live at the front row of a rock concert....but still end up going home empty handed.

Analysis: Palin's Words May Backfire On McCain
"Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying
Obama as "not like us" is another potential appeal to racism.
It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American."

Bush (with McCain's support) used our military
to start a war in Iraq, when the terrorists who
attacked us on 9/11 were in Pakistan. Obama said
we should go after the terrorists in Pakistan,
not take our eyes off the ball by starting another
war in a country who did not attack us, and who
was not as great a threat.

Obama will utilize our military better by starting
to withdraw troops from Iraq and make the Iraqi
government take responsibility for running their
own government with our assistance, and deploying
our troops where the bigger danger is, which is
in Pakistan where the terrorists are who attacked us.

Obama will not raise taxes on people earning
under $250,000 per year. That means 95% will
not see a tax increase, and most Americans will
actually be taxed LESS. Obama supports closing
loopholes intended to benefit only the top 5%.

Also, Obama will work to renegotiate poorly constructed
trade agreements with China and others, that
clearly place American workers at a disadvantage.

On 08/16/08 Pastor Rick Warren asked McCain:
"Give me a number, give me a specific number.
Where do you move from middle class to rich?"

McCain said, "I don't want to take any money from the rich.
I want everybody to get rich. So, I think if you are just
talking about income, how about $5 million?"

Hmmmm ... If McCain doesn't want to take any money
from the rich, WHERE do you think he plans to get it?

I just thought the Palin/Biden debate was more interesting. last night's was boring. and the energy on each side seems to be with Obama and Palin. I'd like them to debate and each take the gloves off and tell us all what they really think...although it would likely end up as another joint news conference.

Some of this stuff is just too stupid to comment on. You guys are leaning so far to the left that you are going to fall over. I cannot understand why you continually look for the silver lining on everything B. Hussein Obama says and does. It is all lies. Classic smoke and mirror entertainment. Meanwhile, all the negative that comes out is simply covered over by the msm including Fox lately. Stop and think about what you are saying. Do a little research from an unbiased source.

Palin would pick up a gun and probably go after the terrorists shew aint no DC pansy puss.
Obama would probably call for a meeting of his stooges to decide what they could give to the bad guys so they didn't bother us!!!
If palin made it to Hooters she woiuld fit in but Hillary wouldn't make it in any female club unless its old maids discussing their mates love affairs.
Obama has not run a single thing in his entire career.
Had an incident at occidental colleg when he had a bad time but ity seems to remain hidden.
Call it what you want Obama has a background that is not completely out in the open.

Its really to bad that George W. couldn't run for another term, he's done such a GREAT job for the last eight years! The bailout is going to cost us about 800 billion, the war in Iraq is costing us 10 billion a MONTH so, eight months of the war budget equals the entire bailout, THANKS GEORGE YOU TARD!
