Hillary Clinton isn't giving up. She's going to push super-delegates to give her the nomination because when you add up all the votes (I think even taking MI out) she has the most. She will win the popular vote, but lose in the delegate count.

Which should count? Should democrats pick nominees like republicans with winner-take-all primaries? If they did, Clinton would have wrapped up the nomination months ago.

She is loosing and will cry about anything.
It is hard to believe she has the popular vote.
All the rules should stay the same and not change for her or anyone else.

Well.. it was Hillary Clinton who over 2 years ago was said to have clinched the super delegates long before the campaigns ever even started... So comfortable with her position that when States began to play with the schedule, she didn't blink an eye... Then when she was handed her first defeat after Super Tuesday, the Clinton machine was turned upside down, and left scrambling to kick start the campaign and financing that she NEVER thought she would need to continue.

Now suddenly superdelegates will be the sword she falls on, and only recently do we hear of the popular vote being so vital. This time a year ago, she dismissed the popular vote...

I think everyone is getting to see the Democrat Party peeled like an onion and for the first time the hypocracy is in full view! Crys about Florida in 2000, more yet from 2004 and Ohio, and now we find that superdelegates have peverted the popular vote decades? Talk about having it both ways...

Steve ... Steve .. Steve!!

Which document gives the dumb masses the right to vote for Prez?

Is it The Constitution or The Bill of Rights?

The answer bchans is neither.

There is no "unalienable" right to vote. Its where people get the Constitution and the Federalist papers confused.

Just as there is no right to privacy.

She has the popular vote UNLESS you count the states with caucuses. Those popular votes never get counted and THAT is what her majesty is counting on.

Everyone knows from recent history that the popular vote is not what counts in the primaries or in the general election. Obviously there are certain people that are pleased about that and others who think that the popular vote should be used to elect a president, not only for representation purposes but also to keep "political trickery" and/or corruption to a minimum.

What type of election representation and process/structure does the U.S. advocate for younger democracies such as Iraq or Afghanistan? Does the popular vote elect a president or its equivalent?

Actually shadows.. Iraq's brand new Constitution breaks it down by tribal regions, and they have an electoral process with checks and balances simular to ours, so that no one tribe in Iraq can be more powerful than the other.

I think is funny how Democrats let Florida electorate be taken down to just half a vote! LOL! Even the blacks back in the days of slavery were allowed 3/5ths!! We are now relegated to even less than that!

THAT! is your Democrat party putting the PARTY over the people! Then giving themselves superdelegates to even wipe out the "half vote" they were nice enough to let us have for a few days...

Where is the call to disband the superdelegates? Yep.. we do need to change our public schools system!! Lets teach the kids to THINK instead of just ABSORB! Then we will have a generation that won't stand for such ridiculous manipulation!

Well done Abunai ... sick to death of the dumb masses complaining about "their voting rights" ... LOL

I am at the point of thinking right now that the Federal Education System is THE most dangerous threat the US faces today ... followed THEN by Islamic Extremism ... what the Govt has done to "educate" the masses is truly scary.

Abunai, thanks for answering my question. The "representation" of the people seems to still be a sometimes violently contested issue.

But it is probably good that it is some sort of representative electoral process since many of the voters reportedly were not familiar with many of the names on the ballots. Of course they weren't told who to vote for were they?

I agree with your assessment of the Democratic party fiasco. First of all, rules are rules to be enforced. Second, the allotment doesn't really make any sense. Either use the actual results of the election process or don't.

This is another example of governance by committee (or courts). It doesn't reflect the wishes of the people, but perhaps it provides a preview of things to come in the general election......... again.

Its Ironic really... Democrats say Iraq has not completed enough milestones on its political side. LOL! That... comming from Pelosi and Reid? Who have an approval rating of what? Who have filled ONE campaign promise of min. wage?

Had Iraq's elections had a super delegate system, to snatch the voice of the people away, why the Democrats would be screaming corruption everywhere! Funny how its ok for Democrats to have such a system, but anyone else its wrong...

how come republicans are more hostile then democrats. I've know they get angry when things dont seem to go their way. All of the fighting between the two will be tested with the vote in Nov. Then we will see who is who...maybe Obama will be able to keep his campain promises unlike Bush.

Campaign promises broken by Bush? Name them! And when you do, take it to the next level and ask WHO obstructed or blocked it from happening...

Republicans more hostile? Did you see the Trinity Church? Have you seen Code Pink, MoveON, Huffington Post, DailyKOS, etc?

Who hasn't gotten their way? Pelosi and Reid campaign promises.. only thing you have is min wage increased, and double gas prices since they came to power! Show me the Republican that has obstructed ANY of the things they wanted done now.... Why are the troops not home yet? WHO could just defend the war and end it? Who won't bring trade agreements to the floor for a vote? Who is holding back the OTHER Veteran's education bill back?

plum19.. I think at the end of the next semester you need to leave whatever liberal college you are attending, OR start learning to process more critical thinking for yourself instead of just soaking up the liberal propaganda at face value...

Who has approval numbers lower than Bush? WHY is that?

But lets discuss the topic of popluar vs. delegate votes:

If last night it has been the general election and a democrat had lost while holding the RECORD BREAKING popular vote, Democrats would be rioting in the streets!

Why is it Democrats continue to allow themselves to be punked and manipulated in such fashion! Had they run their primary as the Republicans did, that historical popular vote would be Hillary as the winner take all instead of this "everyone wins something" stuff. The idea of splitting delegates by percentages, is a measure to ensure the voter's voice is not completely silenced, yet then superdelegates swoop in with a second vote (argued to be unconstitutional itself) and snatch the voter's choice anyways!

The complacency of Democrats to be used this way is mind numbing! Just as they demanded a voice in Florida when they though it might matter, now it is waved in their face on a national level!

I would be embarrassed to be called a Democrat today!

Yeah, Abunai, it's amazing how the democrats think....always reminds me of kids at a magic show....ahhh...ooooo....ahhhh..oooooo

In other terms; if you went car shopping with a group to buy a car for all. 8 of 10 vote on the red car. You buy the white one! Why? Because 2 of the ten have some preassigned superior "power," to override. What ignorance! Who the hell, in their right mind, could be a democrat these days?
I constantly pick at this guy I know, because he's placed an "Obama 08," sticker on his car. I tell him that will void the warranty.
IF that potato=head somehow gets elected, we're screwed!
